Show holidays on Calendar
In some calendar apps, it is possible to import all official/national holidays for a country, for each year.

Thanks for your feedback! You can now add public holiday calendars in Proton Calendar: https://proton.me/support/public-holiday-calendars

Have a default calendar with national holidays by region that can be toggled on and off.

I find the idea to add (at least) local holidays very useful. By all means keep it optional but I would even like to be able to add multiple countries.

integration of calendar of holidays and celebrations of Mexico of google for automatic synchronization.
An example for my country Mexico would be to add as indicated by google by:
Calendar ID
es.mexican#holiday@group.v.calendar.google.comcode:
<iframe src="https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=es.mexican%23holiday%40group.v.calendar.google.com&ctz=America%2FMexico_City" style="border: 0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>Public URL for iCal:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/es.mexican%23holiday%40group.v.calendar.google.com/public/basic.icsIn each country the links vary according to their celebrations.

This would be very handy.
Google calendar (which I'm dumping in favor of Proton) automatically populates with major US holidays. -

Show public and religious holidays in the calendar. I realize that those differ by country resp. conviction, so providing calendar subscription might be the way to go. Cheers,

Please don't force people to see weird holidays like Google does. Leaving this optional would be awesome.

Proton Calendar Beta isn't robust enough at present to allow for re-occurring events to fall on specific day-of-the-week during a specific week-of-the-month. If Proton brought the re-occurring event functionality up to speed then importing an ical (ics) file would be a perfect solution for uploading holidays and such.
I think the real thing to push for here is to get the Calendar mature enough to handle semi-complex repeating events like other major calendars such as Outlook and Google do.

Provide some standard calendars for us to add to our own. And by standard I mean things like "US Holidays" or "Canada Holidays" (or any country), Christian Holidays, Jewish Holidays, etc. I find it helpful to be able to choose these from a list rather than needing to add them all myself.
Thanks.

As a work around for now, you can download your national holidays as an .ical (use your web search, there's loads online) and import into your chosen proton calendar.
For the UK: https://www.gov.uk/bank-holidays

In the USA, some holidays fall on, for example, the fourth Thursday of November rather than a specific date. I don't see a way to do that in Proton Calendar.

The calendar should be able to be populated with common events such as national and religious holidays.

Yes, agreed. There could even be an "advance link" that allows users to pick from a list of country calendars.

Google calendar has this feature, specific for each country.
Valentine´s day in Brazil (as example) is different from valentine´s day in other countries.
I would like to see fathers day and so on. -
