Separate mail and calendar into different apps
add a separate proton calendar icon to the Proton mail/calendar app, so you can directly open the calendar without opening the mail app.
for example the ms mail and calendar app is one app but it behaves as a mail and a separate calendar app.

It is good to have the possibility to open both calendar and email at the same time in a different window so you can view them both at the same time so it is easier to copy something from an email in to the calendar.

No, as long as Proton are using Electron as their framework, one app is better. That's because the app framework has an extremely huge memory overhead - it already eats about 1GB of ram on my desktop. Having two of these bloated apps running would be too much.

Would be great because email is an unnecessary distraction or detour if you only want to go to the calendar.

I was unhappy to see the separate calendar app for Windows go away. I liked the utility of having them both open at the same outside of my browser

Perhaps you could meet this requirement by allowing multiple instances of the ProtonMail app to run at once. Then we could have mail & calendar both open.

Or...consider mail and calendar in separate tabs. In fact, it would be nice to have all proton apps on Mac available as tabs of one app. (include simple login too).

This would be the next option.

We need separate notifications for ProtonMail and ProtonCalendar. So far single app forces to show both mails and calendar notifications together. The mail volume is by far more than calendar events, therefore the pop-up notifications are mostly from mail and are overwhelming. Please either separate apps to make notifications separate or allow only show calendar notifications without mail ones.

Plenty of times when I'm composing an email I want to scan through my calendar. Or maybe I want to copy the event description and address one at a time from email to calendar. Or sometimes I want to have the calendar open but not email, so that it doesn't distract me. Lots of reasons to have them as separate apps, since they're for different purposes.
