Allow Lumo to See it's own thinking.
This might be a bit weird but currently this is an ongoing issue.
why? because of Jailbreaking.
It's not clear with Lumo, but if you use Local Ais you will notice that, without telling you, they are assuming you are trying to jailbreak them when you copy paste what they thought + you telling them what to do or similar. Aka safety mechanism.
Second reason: Pressing the Copy button does not include the thinking. And on phone, when you try to select the whole sections, the whole screen get's selected, and i don't know why since it does not occurs…

Notify existing Proton users that Lumo is a new Proton product offering
Until I logged-in to Proton uservoice.com, I didn't know that Lumo exists. I do not recall getting an email notification. I got a notification, e.g., for Proton Authenticator. Anyway, I'm researching Lumo now, as I definitely can see myself using a Proton chatbot vs. other (data-collecting) offerings from those evil IT megacompanies. Currently, I have DuckDuckGo's DuckAssist set to offer answers as frequently as possible.
I really see traditional web search being replaced by AI-based search entirely. Perhaps AI-based search is the answer to finally being FREED from all the marketing results when you really want information rather than product/company/shopping…

Ability to disable "same output"
Currently, Lumo is copy pasting the exact same answers even when explicitly asked to use thinking
insted of using thinking, it just outputs the same answer
when Lumo is asked about something specifically Lumo is just outputing the same answer
Lumo sometimes does not realise that the 1st answer the server gives is the same answer
Due to how the server or system or whatever it is work, Lumo will constantly output the same answer
For reasons i do not understand, even if explicitly asked, Lumo will still give the same answer.
On mutiple test, over mutiple weeks, me insisting…

Make Lumo launch instantly (reduce 10–15s startup time)
On Android, Lumo often takes 10–15 seconds to become usable after opening the app. That delay really breaks momentum, especially when you just want to quickly ask something or continue a thought.
In comparison, apps like ChatGPT are available almost instantly, which makes a big difference in day-to-day use. Making Lumo start faster — or at least showing the chat UI immediately while things load in the background — would noticeably improve the experience.

More rapid iCal polling
The slow rate at which Calendar polls external (iCal) feeds is the one thing that keeps me from being able to rely fully on Proton Calendar. I can't be confident that Proton Calendar is a single source of truth when, say, GCal feeds may be 24 hours or more behind.

Better Mathematical Expression Display
Currently, the mathematical expressions produced by Lumo in responses, are not legible. They are generally in raw latex syntax, which is absolutely unsuited for display purposes. They should be rendered either as legible plain text (probably bold-faced for distinctiveness) or as document-typeset graphic math expressions.

Input Method Editor (IME) Key Conflict Issue - Japanese Input
Hello Lumo Team,
I would like to report an issue with text input when using Lumo via browser on Mac/PC with Japanese IME (Input Method Editor).
Problem: When typing in Japanese, pressing the Enter key to confirm conversion candidates also triggers the chat send function simultaneously. This causes partially converted text to be sent prematurely, which is very inconvenient.
Expected Behavior: In most applications with Japanese IME support:
Enter key should only confirm the IME conversion when the input method is active
Chat sending should require a separate key combination (e.g., Ctrl+Enter or Cmd+Enter)
Or there should be an option…2 votes -
Remove Unwanted Technical Text from Chat Responses
Description: Currently, when I type a query in the Lumo app, the interface shows technical details, code snippets, or intermediate processing steps before displaying the final answer. This is distracting and makes the chat feel cluttered.
Suggestion: Please remove these intermediate technical displays entirely. Alternatively, implement a "collapse/expand" feature where only a brief summary line is shown by default, and users can click to reveal the full technical details if they want to see them. This would make the chat experience cleaner and less annoying.

Address Hallucinations
Initially, Lumo would hallucinate and confabulate A LOT, so I had to devise and set this on "Personalization"/"How should Lumo behave?"-setting:
「CORE BEHAVIOR RULES (HIGHEST PRIORITY):⒈ ACCURACY OVER CONFIDENCE:
• When information is lacking, uncertain, OR CONFLICTING, say so explicitly & immediately.
• NEVER present uncertain data as fact.
• Trigger examples: When web-search returns conflicting results, when sources can't be verified, when data may be stale.
• Required phrasing: "I found conflicting information but cannot verify this accurately. Here's what I found: [sources]. Please verify with [authoritative source]." (or words of same/similar effect)⒉ RESEARCH INTEGRITY:
• Be…2 votes -

Dynamically load files from Proton Drive folder instead of file upload
Please offer the option to point to a folder on Proton Drive. That would be much more flexible instead of uploading new files each time.

Feedback on Conversation Restrictions
I value Lumo’s privacy-first approach and commitment to respectful dialogue, but I feel that the conversation restrictions and automated content moderation make it frustrating to use for honest adult discussion. Too often, it feels less like I’m talking to a smart assistant and more like I’m conversing with a cautious PR department or a nervous nun—avoiding anything remotely challenging or controversial.
Real conversation and learning require engagement on sensitive, nuanced topics (like politics, social justice, religion and world affairs). Instead, Lumo shuts down or blocks the session whenever certain keywords or contentious issues are mentioned—even if the conversation is thoughtful,…

Feature Request: Persistent "Reasoning View" for Transparency & Collaboration
Hello, Proton.
Fair notice: I did allow Lumo to aid my crafting of this feedback and suggestion. I thank you folks for all that you do!
Susana
To: Lumo Product Team / UX Design From: Susana [User]
Observation: Following the recent UI update (April 2026), I noticed that Lumo briefly displays a numbered list of internal reasoning steps (e.g., "User is asking X, analyzing data Y") before posting the final response. While this currently disappears quickly, it offers a unique glimpse into the AI's logic.
Insight: Rather than viewing this as a transient artifact, I believe this "reasoning trace" could…

Lumo automatic chart resizing
In a Lumo conversations, charts right columns don't always allow users to read everything in the rectangle.
Often, users have to scroll right to see all the text and data it contains.
It can cause some friction when using a regular mouse and an external keyboard without a trackpad. If would be nice if Lumo could resize the content so everything reads in a chart without having to scroll right.

Support for bigger Files
I’m reaching out to request an increase in the maximum file‑upload size.
The current limit is insufficient for several upcoming projects that involve large assets such as high‑resolution media files, data sets, and compiled binaries.6 votes -
Responsive email templates
I'd like to be able to write beforehand email templates, or email paragraph templates, which once I select them Lumo would adapt to the person I'm sending the email to, based on the conversation history, the calendar app, and possibly other things I'm sure you'll figure out.
e.g. : I have an appointment confirmation template ; Lumo will automatically adapt the tone, gender, name, date, time, place, etc.2 votes -
Suggested Youtube videos were not available
I asked Lumo to suggest 'best' Youtube videos for a certain topic. It returned with 2 videos, but there were problems.
- The first video was fine.
- The second video was not longer available on Youtube because the Youtube account had been terminated.
- I revised the search and told Lumo the problem, and it suggested 2 more videos.
- Of the new videos, the link for the first one was the same as the first one in the previous search, even though it was talking about a totally different video.
- The second video in the new search also led to an unavailable…
