Bitcoin Cash payment option
Bitcoin transactions fees are now too much, and it may take up to a few hours for a transaction to be confirmed. There's a payment system, which is nearly same of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash. Its devs have a better vision "low fees, 1 block (10 minutes) transaction confirm time." If you haven't heard of it, here (https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/58969/38618) you can see that many wallets support it.
Kind regards.
We plan on adding additional payment options in the forward.

I've recently started exploring the use of cryptocurrencies and I'm curious about how to best use them for everyday transactions like buying goods and services. I know that it's getting more popular, but I'm not sure how it works in practice. Can anyone explain the best practices for using cryptocurrencies for payments? Are there specific platforms or methods that are more secure and user-friendly?

Payment is instant with Bitcoin Cash.
Fees are lower than a penny.
We control the keys to our money, we don't have to ask a bank why it rejects our transaction.
Consider this please and also consider how many tried to buy your service, but failed cause their bank rejected the transaction. -

Where are you guys at on adding Bitcoin Cash and Dash support? I'm looking to upgrade but can't do so until integration for those crypto is in place first.

I also wanted to ask the same. BCH offers instant transactions with 0-conf and low fees (~$0.01). Bitcoin Cash is pure P2P electronic cash.
Since you already accept BTC with an average of $5 fees that may even rise to $50, it is best to accept Bitcoin Cash since this is serving our needs. I don't have any other method of payment available besides BCH and want to buy the Proton VPN service.

Are there any news about this issue? I would really like to upgrade my account but I'm still waiting for improuvements in new payment methods.
It doesn't matter if new payment options would be with lightning or other different crypto's. We just need an option with low tx fees -

Bitcoin is very expensive and I will never use it for internet's payment, BCH is clearly the original Bitcoin with low fees... Please add it.

Wird es wg der hohen Transaktionsgebühren von BTC bald möglich sein mit BCH oder anderen Cryptos mit niedrigen Transaktionsgebühren zu zahlen?

Please, BCH works very well for payments like protonmail much better than BTC.

I have seen that they accept payment with Bitcoin, I think it would be very interesting if they accept Bitcoin Cash (BCH) since it really works well, fast and with cheap commissions. I think Bitcoin (BTC) is not good for making payments of small and medium amounts. -

I appreciate that Proton accepts any crypto, but Bitcoin is just not suited for these small transactions. I wish it were, but it's not. BCH or pretty much any other crypto would be better. Case in point, in order to pay my $60 annual subscription, I could either pay a 10% fee to get a confirmation within a day(!!) or 1% (still high) and it has not yet confirmed...

Okay, so this has been 2 years later since last response from ProtonMail Team. When are you guys going to add additional payment options? In particular, Dash and Bitcoin Cash?

+1 Please add Bitcoin Cash and Dash. Dash has a nice instantsend feature which offers near instant transaction confirmation. It is more secure than Bitcoin Core since it's almost impossible to 51% attack with masternodes.
Both BCH and Dash offer reliable transaction times at negligible fees. Both are viable options as a replacement to BTC.
