Separate Notification Email and Recovery Email Addresses
Please separate the notification email and recovery email fields, so that it is possible to set each one individually. For example, a user may wish to set up a notification email address that cannot initiate account recovery. Another user may also wish to set up a recovery email address that does not receive notifications for incoming emails.
That would be useful to use with a less-trustworthy email provider or a less-secure account, so that users can receive notifications without worrying about a malicious actor resetting the user's ProtonMail password from the notification email account. Thanks.

Having an email account in a secured system such as Proton, could have security issues if recovery methods are less secure (for instance SIM card or another mail system). It's the reason "recovery phrase" could help here.
At the same time I would like to be notified when a new email arrives at my Proton account. It's important for cases when Proton account isn't the main mail address, but is used for highly private communication.

Yes!! I 'm a new user. I just received notification in my gmail account (which I had set up as what I thought was ONLY password recovery) that I have a new proton mail message. If I had wanted G**gle to know my proton email address I would have advertised it!!!
I have removed that email from "reset/notification". So now I have no reset email available to me.

This is also useful for domestic abuse situations, where one person is routinely breaking into the email accounts of another household member.

I would love to see this implemented. In my case, I would like to see notifications come to an e-mail account that I read on my mobile phone, but never access the recovery e-mail account from the phone.
