  1. Flexible Trash Retention Period – 30 Days Should Be Adjustable (7, 60, 90+ Days)

Proton Mail currently offers the "Auto-delete unwanted messages" feature that automatically deletes emails in trash after 30 days. However, this retention period is fixed and cannot be customized.

    Requested Feature:

Ability to individually configure the auto-delete retention period for the trash folder (e.g., 7, 14, 30, 60, 90 days or custom value)
Same option should apply to the spam folder as well
Separate settings per folder would be ideal

  2. Duo 1/2 cost for 2nd person for 1/4 features...not a deal!

Duo is worthless for second member because most of the control is limited to admin...stupid idea unless you are adding a child.

  3. Proton AIO (All-in-one)

This is a spin-off & more in-depth idea (at least in my opinion) of this suggestion:
    https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/48528431-all-in-one-desktop-app
I was a bit confused on what exactly was wanted, but here is what I am looking for and hope many others will agree or add onto this suggestion.

What is this looking to solve?

Currently as it stands, proton users must navigate several pages or find the https://protonapps.com/ site, which still may direct users to web pages or wiki pages on the install process (e.g. Linux - Proton VPN). There is no easy central way to download applications, which may not seem…

  7. Official Proton Mail browser extension with unread mail badge and notifications

I would love to see an official Proton Mail browser extension that provides fast and convenient access to Proton Mail directly from the browser toolbar — similar in concept to GMX MailCheck, but implemented according to Proton’s privacy and security standards.
    Useful features could include:
    - Proton Mail icon in the browser toolbar
    - unread/new mail counter displayed as a badge
    - notifications for new messages
    - one-click access to the inbox
    - quick “Compose” button
    - convenient handling of mailto: links
    - optional preview of new messages
    - optional support for multiple Proton Mail accounts
    An especially useful feature…

  8. Enabling p7s

Currently, some users receive administrative emails from tax authorities, government agencies, and other public institutions that are signed using S/MIME digital signatures. However, in Proton Mail these signatures are only displayed as a .p7s attachment, and the signature itself cannot be viewed or verified within the email.

This missing functionality is a significant disadvantage compared with Outlook and other email providers that support S/MIME signature verification natively. Would it be possible to add support for viewing and validating S/MIME digital signatures in Proton Mail?

  9. Option to automatically sign and encrypt message to recipient?

It would be great to act a feature to proton both Desktop and Android to have an optional feature when drafting a mail to automatically encrypt a message.

  11. Netshild in Extension / Dedicated IPs / RAM Servers

The Proton VPN apps are very comprehensive, but the browser extensions aren’t—we need NetShield.
Proton has formed an incredible partnership with the Vivaldi browser, and we need to explore this partnership further so we can work together to build a browser-based VPN with the highest possible level of privacy that’s accessible to everyone.
I’ve been using VPNs for over 10 years and have been with Proton for a short time; the focus on privacy is impeccable. I would humbly suggest RAM-based servers.
We need dedicated IPs that bypass or reduce annoying CAPTCHAs; this should also improve streaming.
    I’m very happy…

  13. Stop censoring Reddit when caring users are critical

New general idea stop censoring criticism on Reddit (ProtonDrive & ProtonMail).

We are devoted to Proton, Actively Pay, Actively Bug report, Participate on feature requests, Use all features and products. Hold proton in regard for focussing on privacy first being a steward owned business.

In other words we care, but that also makes us critical, we want to use your products, but to use them they need to be functional.

Your are censoring the only location ProtonDrive & ProtonMail in which active users can come together and show critique on the functionality of Proton. You are censoring the users who…

  14. insert row in the middle of embedded table in proton docs

As a document author I sometimes realize I want to have one or more rows in-between two table rows that I have already edited. I love the easy to access "+" buttons to add rows and columns but they can't help me insert in-between rows. I want to right click on an existing row and be able to insert one or more rows above or below the row I clicked on. Alternatively, I could see a "+" button appear under my currently selected row when my cursor is inside, allowing me to insert a row in-between. When I de-select the…

  15. caption an image in Proton Docs

as a document author I want to, after inserting an image into my document, right click on the image and choose "insert caption". After selecting this option my cursor should be placed in a new area under the image where I can enter the image caption.

Later I can edit this caption by placing my cursor within the text. If I move, cut, copy/paste this image, the caption should move/cut/copy+paste along with it.

Lastly, I would recommend doing some user research where you have a UX researching + designer + developer watch real users try to create a real document.…

  16. add way to match receipts to sent emails using a verifiable message ID; alternatively, provide in-app matching by recipient, subject, time

Feature request: Make automated receipts identifiable and searchable >>>
I receive generic automated receipt emails that contain no email-specific information, such as the original message’s subject, a reference, or a unique message identifier, so I can’t reliably tell which sent email each receipt acknowledges. Any possible link in the receipt’s encryption or technical metadata isn’t visible or usable to me. - Ideally, Proton Mail would make it possible to associate a receipt with the exact sent email that triggered it, using a clear, verifiable identifier. As a secondary feature, please provide an in-app search or matching tool that finds likely…

  18. Automatic “Fastest” server option

When I was using the free version, the “Fastest” server option would connect me to a recommended server, and I also had the ability to switch to another server within the recommended/fastest location if needed.

Since upgrading to the paid plan, that option seems to be missing. When I select the fastest server, Proton automatically connects me to a server, but if I want to try a different server, I have to manually open the country list and select one myself.

It would be very useful if Proton could bring back the same functionality for paid users—for example, after connecting…

  19. Hash Digests for Downloadable Binaries

Providing SHA-256 checksums would allow users to independently verify the integrity of downloaded files and confirm that the binaries they receive match the files Proton intended to distribute.

This is basic security and transparency, especially for a company that prioritizes privacy.
