Proton Browser
Proton Browser
I would Like to see a Browser like chrome, firefox, or Brave. But without the tracking and also it being based in the same location as protonmail would mean its secure and safe to use.
With companys like google buying up all the alternative browsers I think this a needed program/app. What good is the secure email when Chrome is snap shoting and keylogging your protonmail logins.

I think it is a great idea!

I'm sure our security on line would increase a 100% with a Proton Browser to get rid of safari, opera, firefox, etc. If you make one we'll be total and complete.

Why not using Firefox?
It is very secure, works similar to the ProtonMail ways, and has excellent performance. -

For those of you recommending Brave, no, sorry but Brave is not the answer: you get ad promotions by default (bitcoin and other ebusinesses) unless you disable them. That’s not the default behaviour I expect for a real privacy-respectful browser. I use Brave because it’s the “least bad” at the moment, but it’s still bad. It wins because the others are even worse. I understand maintaining a browser would be an effort for Proton, but nobody is doing it. I wish I can drop Brave soon, if somebody develops a really privacy-respectful browser.

this may be easier than i thought, and the tech stack is already familiar to the proton team: https://github.com/wexond/browser-base
the brave-ios repo may also be interesting to look at.

Wouldn't it be better to avoid expanding into creating vast mediocre unperfected products? Wouldn't it be better to avoid delaying timelines and perfect what already makes ProtonMail unique and excellent?
+ calendar
+ contacts
+ emailPeople like the idea of one platform to rule them all, but it just isn't realistic. The reason Apple is what it is today, is because they knew how to perfect and focus on a few products. Imagine that level of focus from Protonmail.
One can already find many of the services ProtonMail users are requesting and it would take years for ProtonMail to catch up. Some of these services requested on this site include:
Encrypted Knowledge Cloud Storage: Available with sync.com or pCloud
Zero Tracking Web Browser: Available with Brave, Firefox, or Tor
Password Manager: Available with 1Password or a multitude of othersWhere do you find a good encrypted calendar? Where do you find reliable encrypted email? Where do you find encrypted contacts? The answer is ProtonMail. These 3 services fit nicely together, are unique, and reinforce the utility of one another.
I hope ProtonMail will make their core gorgeous, and pour their resources and time into them, before moving on. I hope they avoid the customer sirens requesting they do "everything" in the realm of security. People flock to companies that do a few things truly great, not to ones that do a lot of things mediocre.
If you agree, I found a nice feature request to "focus on your core", where your votes would be great. Also, feel free to repost this anywhere people are getting carried away requesting features, or send it to management if anyone knows how. We can help this great company focus on being great instead of getting carried away.

Why is proton using google, facebook and twitter to disperse information? These organizations are heavily involved in censorship and likely provide information to various governments, either directly or indirectly.

Are the proton admins going to respond to this?

Proton needs to provide a browser other than google or Microsoft to open a protonmail account. Otherwise, these organizations can grab our passwords and read our email content or provide to third parties.
This completely defeats the use of protonmail for privacy. -

It looks like I need a new browser. Brave in the meantime, but looking forward to what ProtonMail can build. Thank you.

Please develop a Proton Browser. Big Tech is censoring political speech that they disagree with. Freedom lovers in every country need secure technology whether inside China or Hong Kong, Europe, Russia, or now the USA. We need an ecosystem of technology that is outside the reach of Big Tech. The most immediate need is a browser. Mozilla is no friend of freedom.

I'm considering further de-Googling my life, and a Proton Internet browser sounds very appealing. I'd love to see you outdo Google. But can you also outdo Tor?

Please don't do this. Brave amd Firefox already have this covered and maintaining a good browser is expensive.
