The same as Privacy.com (US-only) and Halocard.co (all countries) work by generating virtual cards that keep your real credit card details private when buying stuff online.

Once you have virtual cards for online payments build on it with contactless NFC payments that don't need Google Pay, which matters A LOT for us GrapheneOS users for the reasons everyone already knows.

Yes there are banks, licensing and KYC involved BUT unless you live in a hole, making card payments is an essential service and an IMPROVED privacy posture where money is at risk is significantly better than NONE AT ALL.

If you disagree with Proton building a financial product etc then fine, but at least mark this as rejected and/or partner with someone who can provide this with an option to activate it inside Proton Pass for convenience.

The closest thing was a passing comment in an AMA with Andy Yen years ago that a user here paraphrased: "I'm personally quite interested in doing this, but there are lots of legal and regulatory hurdles so this is not the easiest one to do. But I have also heard from a lot of users that this is something they really want, and that will certainly be factored in our strategic planning." but that's it.
