Onboarding Opt-out or Toggle
Current onboarding experience needs to be streamlined and needs to respect users. Currently, there are emails sent daily for the first week or so and then there are frequent notifications and banners and modal windows that pop up and interrupt the user while trying to complete a task or just send a quick email. This constant interruption and disrespect for user's time and agency is not welcomed. For those that need onboarding, let them opt in and for those that do not need onboarding, let them opt out. There should be a single question upon new account creation: "Would you…

Ditch The LLM, It's Slop
Ditch The LLM, It's Slop. A.I isn't good for anyone or the environment. It also takes a lot of time and resources to implement that could be put to better use for your paying users.

More a question
Is there a good chance that the new Euro-office is to be integrated in the proton ecosystem? It would be great and if all proton features work together you would have a great workspace.

Warn when too many recipients, and be able to select/copy/remove all
I am trying to send news to my family and friends. I thought having the paid plan would allow me to avoid GMail and send the mail to everybody (150 emails approx). But I can't.
What is even more frustrating:
- there is no warning when we are close/reach the limit
- there is no message saying "you are trying to send to 104 people, the limit is 100", just a general message
- there is no way (AFAIK) to remove all BCC recipients directly, I need to remove them one by one
- there is no way to select-all…5 votes -
Given recent legislation, provide a box to check that keeps California off the connection list.
As stated. Just a contingency to prevent accidents.

ProtonVPN Plus and ProtonMail Plus separate subscriptions
Online I see that for 2 years ProtonVPN plus plus is 3 EUR per month. When I log in to my ProtonMail (Plus), only the Proton Unlimited is visible for 10 EUR per month (I already have mail plus). I switch to VPN, then I get the VPN plus option, but it shows that I'll have only basic mail functionalities (looks like I will lose my Mail Plus if I switch to VPN Plus?). I only want VPN Plus to be able to VPN to Germany. I want to have Mail Plus and VPN Plus together (it's more worth it…

Turn desktop notifications for all new emails
Can we have a toggle to turn off desktop notifications for all new emails, please? Currently notifications for new emails arriving in my inbox is on by default and I haven't found a way to turn these notifications off, other than blocking all notifications from proton.me, and I don't want to do that. I just don't want a desktop notification (or anywhere else) each time I receive an email.

More Free Folders Please
Can you up max folders in Free Proton Mail from 3, to say 10? Just signed up for a new Proton Mail acct, looking to switch to a new platform. But VERY disapp'd to see 3's the limit! Between that and all the upgrade reminders, I'm not so sure Proton's my answer. Merci from Canada!!

Simpler log-in to Proton services with QR code
I like being able to log-in on proton services on a browser using a QR code scanned on my phone by the mail app. It doesn't require entering my password and going through 2FA each time.
However, it is seen as a recovery method at the moment, and thus hidden behind multiple menus (on the browser and on the Android mail app).
Is there a reason to not have this method as a standard way of log-in, with the feature available in the higher level menus? It would be even more convenient to have it as a quick action on…

Evaluate closely the risks to Proton and users even in Switzerland.
Somewhat different from most topics here: I want to suggest a bit of caution with the frequent use of "Swiss - based" and the like as a sort of guarantor of privacy; elsewhere on Proton's website (the business part iirc) it even states it is thus beyond the surveillance powers of the U.S. and co. This is simply not true. Indeed, Switzerland IS MUCH BETTER about privacy and laws than the U.S., however like ALL states, they are composed of the weakest links in security: humans.
I am not suggesting Proton move out of Switzerland at all. But, the state…

Stop Lumo censorship.
Please stop treating people like they're stupid 2-year-old kids, stop censoring ideas. A censored chatbot is useless, and censorship in Luma is pretty high. Fix that please.

Proton Unlimited Not Unlimited
I have been paying for Proton Unlimited for many years. In the beginning, it was presented as the way to benefit from all Proton features. For some time now, every new feature tells me how I can pay extra for a 'plus' version of something. And I continually see prompts to 'upgrade' to the Duo plan to receive more features, even though I only need a plan for one person. I don't understand why Proton would do this to people who have been supporting them financially for so many years. Now I see Lumo appear. I open the feature through…

disentangle primary email address from being the default identity account on all proton apps
Right now, your primary email address serves as the default account on all other Proton Apps. E.g., If my primary Proton email address is robert.mckoo@pm.me, this will also be the the default user for Proton Drive.
Just because I have a primary email address I want to use to communicate externally, I do not want to have this email address associated with anything else.
It would be good if primary email address in Proton Mail would just be that while account management / user profile / identities remain separate from any of this.
Thanks!

Linux supported equally
Linux is very popular among privacy concerned users, who make up a large chunk of Proton's userbase. However, Proton fails to provide any solid Linux apps and frequently leaves them unmaintained or released years after the initial product launch. Proton should make Linux a first-class platform, with proper support from day one.

Allow user to directly login to uservoice with their proton account
It felt a little silly that I was offered options to login immediately with Facebook or Gmail, but not with Proton account. Uservoice should feel like it belongs to the same service ecosystem.

UX Design Critique: Proton App Icon System
UX Design Critique: Proton App Icon System
Overall assessment
This icon set fails the core job of an app launcher: enabling fast, pre-attentive recognition. A user opening this switcher cannot identify apps without reading labels. That's a fundamental usability failure, not a stylistic preference.
Color hierarchy is broken
Eight of ten icons sit in the same purple-blue-pink gradient family. Color is the fastest channel in visual perception — processed pre-attentively in roughly 200ms, before shape recognition kicks in. By collapsing eight apps into one hue family, Proton has eliminated its strongest recognition signal.
The two exceptions (Docs blue, Sheets green)…

Create a filter option in the sender pop-up menu
Add an option to the pop-up menu when clicking on the sender's e-mail address in the e-mail panel.
Currently we have:
New Message
Create new contact
Messages from this sender
Block messages from this senderSimple QoL feature that would help with filter creation tremendously.
