1. Manage contacts on a separate page

   It would be very useful to be able to manage my contacts on a specific page.
   This would provide an overview of contacts, rather than just a small space on the right-hand side of the messaging app that doesn't show all the contact details.
   It's a waste of time having to scroll through my entire list to manage it.

4. With the features I have discovered, managing long email correspondence chain histories is extremely difficult. Can it be improved?

   I have what are now multiple email chains dating back more than a year. These include broken series of replies to a single thread. With extremely sensitive and high risk issues it is crucial to maintain and be able to reconstruct chronologies of what was stated or claimed and by whom, when and in what order. As it is I have found very few features to keep track of email histories. Obviously Proton mail do not want to accept liability for features said to provide additional security beyond what can reasonably be offered but the software could simply add better features for searching, review and organisation.

   Having separate inbox and outboxes adds friction and the emails and their replies are in separate folders. I have discovered I can move them all to one folder but then it ceases to be obvious if I have sent or received each email in it. There also seems only to be the star option to highlight a mail. How am I to tell my different starred emails apart? It would be better if I could add labels to emails. It would also be nice if I could see all my sent and received emails in one place in chronological order. Also, it would be nice if I could colour code emails with a dot and then show or hide messages with specific colo9ured dots. That way I could separate different chains and with labels I could highlight important content or inflection points in what happened.

   As it is I think the system expects everybody will only want to look at and reply to the most recent emails then forget them. Over long arduous sensitive chains sometimes the past contains crucial evidence and the way it is structured now it is hard to use the emails as a database I can query and mark with notes persistent across sessions.

5. Delete an email forever before show on my account.

   Could Proton Mail add a feature that permanently blocks emails from specific senders FOREVER?

   Some abusive companies keep sending unwanted emails forever. Even after marking them as spam repeatedly, their messages continue to show up. I don't want those emails in my account at all—not in my Inbox, Spam, or Trash.

   It would be great to have an option to permanently reject emails from selected senders, deleting them automatically before they ever reach the mailbox.

   Is this something you could consider adding?

   Integrate Proton Lumo as an active sidebar inside Proton Docs and Sheets using the same secure architecture already utilized for Lumo document uploads. Additionally, expand the workspace ecosystem by launching "Proton Slides" with the same integrated AI capabilities.

   How the Lumo Integration Should Work (Maintaining E2EE):

   Zero-Knowledge Architecture: The AI does not read the document in real-time. Instead, the document remains locally decrypted inside the user's browser/app session.

   On-Demand Processing: Only when the user explicitly triggers an action in the Lumo sidebar (e.g., clicking "Analyze this document" or "Generate summary"), the locally decrypted text is sent via the secure User-to-Lumo pipeline to Proton's volatile RAM.

   Ephemeral Execution: The server processes the request, returns the output to the sidebar, and immediately wipes the data from the RAM, keeping the zero-knowledge promise intact.

   Why this matters:
   This eliminates the architectural friction of manually copying text or downloading/re-uploading files into the standalone Lumo app. It delivers a seamless, native "Copilot-like" UX without breaking End-to-End Encryption.

   Expanding the Suite:
   Please prioritize the development of Proton Slides to complete the core productivity suite. A presentation tool built with privacy at its core—and integrated with this exact Lumo sidebar logic to help structure presentations and format text securely—would be a major milestone for moving away from Big Tech ecosystems completely.

9. Enable the option to change the cell setting of the decimal point in entire sheet

   If I format a cell as a number, two numbers are placed after the decimal point. I can adjust that per cell, but not for the entire worksheet. Formatting the cells as text is not an option, because then the summation function will no longer work.

10. Add Voice Input / Speech-to-Text to Lumo Web Browser Version

    I noticed that voice input is currently unavailable in the web browser version of Lumo. As someone who frequently uses Lumo on desktop, I would love to see this feature extended to the web interface as well.

    Here's why I think this would be valuable:

    Accessibility: Voice input is an important accessibility feature. Users with mobility impairments or those who struggle with typing would benefit greatly from being able to dictate their prompts directly in the browser.
    
    Multitasking: When working on a desktop, being able to speak a prompt while referencing documents or taking notes would improve productivity significantly.
    
    Consistency across platforms: Having voice input available on both mobile and web would create a more unified user experience.
    
    Modern browsers support it well: The Web Speech API is widely supported across modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari), making this technically feasible.
    

    I understand that priorities are set based on community feedback, which is why I'm submitting this request here. I'd love to hear from the team whether this is something being considered for a future roadmap.

    Something like Privacy.com, where you can make burner debit cards to pay anonymously without sending all your sensitive info to online companies. Currently looking into secure online payment methods, and having one through Proton would be great. I plan on buying Ultimate soon anyway.

    Create a directory for secure apps that you know work well inside proton ecosystem. You are working hard to give developers an API, however it is important to know which ones are verified/checked (by proton or its community). For instance, not everyone know that proton-cli, standard notes and rclone can manage proton accounts, what is its relation with proton, how secure they are or if there are a community using them.

    I would love to see Proton create Proton Reader, a privacy-first document and eBook reader that works seamlessly across Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, and the web.
    It should support a wide range of file formats, including PDF, EPUB, MOBI, AZW, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, TXT, CBZ, CBR, and other common document and eBook formats, so users don't need multiple apps for different file types.
    One of the biggest advantages would be a consistent reading experience across all devices. If I open a book or document on my phone, I should be able to continue reading from the same place on my laptop or in a web browser. Reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, notes, and preferences should stay synchronized automatically across all devices.
    Proton Reader could integrate with Proton Drive, allowing users to securely store, organize, sync, and read their documents from anywhere while maintaining Proton's strong privacy standards.
    A privacy-focused, cross-platform reader would be a valuable addition to the Proton ecosystem. It would provide users with one secure application for reading documents and eBooks instead of relying on multiple apps across different devices.

    Summary: Let each contact carry a preferred "send from" alias, so new emails to that contact automatically use the right alias instead of your single account-wide default.

    The problem:
    If you have many aliases, say one for work, one for personal, and separate ones per service, you can only set one account-wide default sender. Every new message uses that default until you manually change it. With 20+ aliases, it is very easy to forget, which means accidentally emailing a work contact from your personal alias (or vice versa). The mistake is silent and only obvious after you have hit send.

    The solution:
    A per-contact default sender alias. This does not change how aliases work anywhere else. It just auto-selects the correct alias when you start a new email to a contact who has one set.

    How it could work:
    - Add a field to each contact's details, e.g. "Send from", with a dropdown of your existing aliases.
    - When you compose a new message to that contact, the From field is pre-filled with their assigned alias instead of the account default.
    - Contacts with no alias set simply fall back to the current account-wide default, so nothing changes for existing users who do not need this.
    - You can still override the From field per message at any time. This only changes the starting value.

    Why it matters:
    It removes the risk of sending from the wrong alias by making the correct one the default for each relationship, rather than relying on the user to remember to switch every time.

17. Better importation/linking with Gmail with Proton Mail

    First off, I LOVE the new ability to link your gmail account. This is extremely helpful, and removes 90% of my reliability with Gmail as it's all available with Proton Mail.

    However, organization is needed for a couple different reasons.

    1) Spam/Promotion
    Gmail gives you HUNDREDS of emails into a quick "Promotions" area. All of this goes unfiltered upon linking with Proton, and floods your entire Proton Inbox.
    For emails listed under "Promotion" tab in gmail (as well as other misc areas such as Spam), it should be filtered into some type of Subfolder and/or ignored.

    I think the easiest way to do this is by asking simple questions upon linking the account.

    "Would you like to include your Promotions folder? Y/N" - If you select no, the emails listed under the promotion tab won't be listed into your Proton Inbox, however all incoming mail from the Promotions Filter will still show up in the inbox.

    That, or simply create a subfolder in Proton automatically titled "Gmail Promotions", and have the imported emails from such a tab go into there instead. This folder could go under the already existing folders feature, and can even be limited to Proton Subscribers.

    First off, I LOVE the new ability to link your gmail account. This is extremely helpful, and removes 90% of my reliability with Gmail as it's all available with Proton Mail.

    However, organization is needed for a couple different reasons.

    1) Spam/Promotion
    Gmail gives you HUNDREDS of emails into a quick "Promotions" area. All of this goes unfiltered upon linking with Proton, and floods your entire Proton Inbox.
    For emails listed under "Promotion" tab in gmail (as well as other misc areas such as Spam), it should be filtered into some type of Subfolder and/or ignored.

18. Subject: "No Warranty" and "Not Responsible for Accuracy" — The Loophole That Voids Every Promise

    Hi Proton Team,

    There is a section in Proton's agreements that most users will never read, but it fundamentally undermines everything they were sold on:

    "No warranty." "Not responsible for accuracy."

    These clauses mean that every promise Proton makes — about protecting your data, about encryption, about open source, about features working — comes with a legal escape hatch. If something goes wrong, if a feature doesn't work, if accuracy fails, the company has already protected itself. The user has no recourse.

    The Playbook This isn't unique to Proton. It's standard corporate practice. But Proton isn't supposed to be standard. Here's how the pattern works:

    Make bold claims in marketing. "All apps open source." "Privacy for everyone." "Personalize your AI." These are the promises that convince people to sign up and pay.
    
    Neutralize those claims in the agreement. "No warranty." "Not responsible for accuracy." These are the legal erasers that make the promises unenforceable.
    
    When called out, reword — don't fix. The loophole stays. It just gets harder to find. Spread it across multiple documents. Use plain language that sounds friendly but still means the same thing. The words shift; the protection for the corporation does not.
    
    Call it "normal business." Because it is. Every company does this. But Proton is not every company — or at least, that's what the marketing says.
    

    Plain Language as a Weapon Here's what makes this especially insidious: the same "plain language" that is supposed to empower users is used to disarm them.

    On the marketing side, "open source" means freedom and transparency. On the legal side, it means whatever the corporation needs it to mean. On the marketing side, "personalization" means the AI adapts to you. On the legal side, "no warranty" means it doesn't have to.

    The words are the same. The meaning shifts depending on which side of the screen you're on.

    And when the company decides the meaning needs to shift again? They change the terms. On the fly. Without asking. Because the agreement already gave them that right.

    The Question for Proton If Proton truly believes it is different from Big Tech, then why does it use the exact same legal architecture as Big Tech?

    The same "no warranty" clauses.
    The same "not responsible for accuracy" disclaimers.
    The same right to change terms unilaterally.
    The same pattern of bold promises neutralized by fine print.
    

    Proton didn't invent this playbook. But Proton chose to use it. And while using it, Proton also chose to criticize Apple for doing the same thing.

    The Ask I'm not asking Proton to eliminate all legal protections. I understand why they exist. I'm asking Proton to acknowledge the contradiction:

    You cannot claim to be fundamentally different while using the exact same legal framework as the companies you criticize. Either the promises mean something — and are backed by more than marketing — or they don't. And if they don't, say that clearly. Upfront. On the homepage. Not buried in section 14 of a document no one reads.

    Trust isn't built by what you promise in bold text. It's built by what you're willing to stand behind when things go wrong.

    Right now, the agreements say Proton stands behind nothing. That should concern Proton more than it concerns its users.

19. Proton Sheets: Allow selecting which column is used as sorting key

    When you select a range in Proton Sheets, and go "sort A->Z", it always sorts based on leftmost column in the selected range. But sometimes the column I want to use as my "A->Z", and have the rest of the selected range sorted by, is not, in fact, the leftmost column. Please add a functionality to choose the column to act as a sort key.

    I think it would be helpful if Proton had a dedicated troubleshooting section that explains common verification and account-related issues in simple language. Many users aren't sure what causes delays, verification failures, or account access problems, and having step-by-step guidance would save a lot of time.

    While looking at how other websites organize support content, I found a useful example that explains common issues in a very clear way: https://onlinenbiclearance.ph/nbi-clearance-issues-solutions/. The structure makes it easy for users to identify their problem and follow the recommended solution.

    A similar knowledge base for Proton could reduce repeated support tickets and improve the overall user experience for both new and existing users.
