1. Dark theme for loading and login pages

   Liked so far the overall dark theme but I think it still miss some features, i.e. the login page and the loading page flash a white&bright page, so it's kinda annoying the switch between light and dark page.
   The idea is that if the login/loading pages detect that you are using dark theme on the browser or in the OS, then there is no such a light pages.

2. Proton Unlimited – A growing gap in the ecosystem?

   Might I suggest a closer alignment between Proton Meet and Proton Unlimited?

   While one appreciates the realities of resource constraints, the current approach—where an already top-tier plan effectively becomes “upgradeable” (as seen with Meet and Lumo)—undermines the original concept of Unlimited. It begins to feel less like a complete offering and more like a base layer for subsequent add-ons.

   If this direction is necessary, a clearer restructuring would be preferable: either introduce a new, higher-tier plan, or reconsider the scope and pricing of the existing ones. As it stands, what was once the definitive individual tier now feels somewhat diluted.

   As a result, I find myself defaulting to Signal and Google (with local encryption) for everyday use, and reconsidering the long-term value of the subscription.

3. Onboarding Opt-out or Toggle

   Current onboarding experience needs to be streamlined and needs to respect users. Currently, there are emails sent daily for the first week or so and then there are frequent notifications and banners and modal windows that pop up and interrupt the user while trying to complete a task or just send a quick email. This constant interruption and disrespect for user's time and agency is not welcomed. For those that need onboarding, let them opt in and for those that do not need onboarding, let them opt out. There should be a single question upon new account creation: "Would you like to activate the onboarding experience?" A simple Yes/No would either enable or disable all onboarding for that user. There should also be an On/Off toggle in the settings to enable or disable onboarding. Other than that, just make finding help easy without being intrusive or distracting.

5. Ability to filter on Proton Mail by the email address it is sending to you

   Especially with the connection to Gmail, and especially with the already existing ability of up to 10+ alternative emails leading to the same inbox, we need the ability near the top of proton mail to "Filter by Address", with checkboxes for each of your email.

   For example, if I have 3 Proton Emails, and my Gmail Account (PersonalProton1@pm.me, BusinessProton2@pm.me, MiscProton3@pm.me, Gmail@gmail.com), but I only want to see the emails for my business email (BusinessProton2@pm.me), I need to simply have a checkbox to only include inbox messages coming to that specific address (BusinessProton2@pm.me).

   Now, this is theoretically possible by going into filters, than more filter settings, then adding a specific recepitant address, but this is not only extremely time consuming just to filter these emails, but extremely unconventional.

   You should make it to where it's a quick checkbox mark of your listed emails. It's fast, easy, and EXTREMELY useful.

   This will be especially helpful with the new Gmail linking(s).

6. Publish basic governance data

   Proton is often seen as a nonprofit, but in reality it operates as a private company, Proton AG, with the Proton Foundation as a majority shareholder. This structure is designed to protect its mission, but many users are not fully aware of how it works or what guarantees it provides long term.

   Proton asks users to trust that its incentives will always stay aligned with privacy. While that may be true today, long term trust is harder to evaluate without some visibility into ownership and financial direction. For example, WhatsApp was once widely seen as privacy-focused, but shifts in ownership and business pressures changed how it operates over time. Proton is asking for a similar level of long-term trust, so additional transparency would help reinforce confidence.

   Providing a small set of high level, non-sensitive statistics would go a long way in building confidence. Here are some key indicators that could meaningfully improve transparency:

   • Voting control: What percentage of voting shares are held by the Proton Foundation vs private investors
   • Board composition: How many seats in Proton AG’s Board of Directors are tied to the Foundation vs private owners
   • Basic revenue breakdown: Subscriptions, donations, merch, etc (as percentages, since absolute figures may be sensitive)

   These are not requests for detailed financial disclosures or anything that would harm competitiveness. They are simple, aggregated signals that help users understand whether Proton’s structure and incentives are likely to remain aligned with its stated values over time.

   Proton already leads in transparency through reports and independent audits. Publishing a few governance and financial summary stats would complete that picture and make it much easier for users to place long term trust in the service.

7. Proton Android simulator on computer

   My phone screen just cracked and I don't know how long it will last. I'm going to put some tape on it, but I'd like, if possible, an Android simulator just to access bank accounts, WhatsApp, and all the Proton apps.

8. Proton Drive Photo Management

   If there was also a way I could import photos from files uploaded to the photo section of drive from already existing directories within proton drive, that would also be very helpful. You guys are doing great!

11. How do I convert archived MSG emails into PDF for legal documentation?

    I have a folder of old Outlook MSG files from a completed client project. Some emails are part of legal communication and need to be saved in PDF format for long-term records. The files include sender details, dates, message body, and attachments. I do not want to open every MSG file one by one and print it manually. What is the safest way to convert MSG files into PDF while keeping the email details readable?

12. Nudge users to change their master password periodically

    I think it would be helpful if Proton would periodically (perhaps quarterly? At least annually) nudge users to change their master passwords.
    Because the initial nudge might come when someone doesn't have time to update their password, perhaps the user could "snooze" the nudge.

13. [Lumo] Custom bot feature

    I can't find the Proton Lumo below 'Give feedback' on the right column so I'm posting here.

    I'm using bots everyday and find the custom bot feature very important. Just some text config and a name for a custom bot should be nice.

    Sometimes the generic mood of the bot is not so prefered, a custom bot with fixed info to define a personal assistant in owner's style is good to have. The fitting style of language is better for conversation, like a pal, not a stranger.

    Some guys are with such custom bot and free: Gemini Gem, Instagram AI Studio.

14. Private Identity Management: Add Support for W3C Verifiable Credentials and ZKP

    Proton is already where I secure my emails, files, and passwords. As the world pushes toward more digital verification (often in invasive ways), I want a “Proton-native” way to verify my identity without handing over my sensitive data to Big Tech or state-surveillance-aligned systems.

    Privacy: Proton’s core value is encrypting data so even Proton can’t see it. SSI/ZKP is the natural evolution: let the system provide a “Zero-Knowledge Proof” to a third party (like “I am over 21” or “I am a verified resident”) without me ever having to share my actual ID, age, or address.

    Safety: It’s a huge liability to share scans of physical IDs to websites. A “Proton Identity Wallet” would allow us to generate these proofs locally and share only what is strictly necessary.

    Independence: Moving to a non-custodial standard is the best defense against KYC-based surveillance.

    If Proton can move into managing identity claims as securely as you manage data, you would become the gold standard for personal sovereignty online.

15. Unified Application

    Create a unified application platform to access all Proton features via a multi-OS application (Windows, macOS, Linux [Flatpak]).

    I'm thinking functions like:
    1) Workspace-like application with tabs down the left side for each application (Mail, Contacts, Pass, Drive, VPN, etc..)
    2) Option to toggle individual apps on/off if the user does not want to include specific ones.
    3) Option to pop-out individual apps
    4) Configurable timeout/lock for the app platform. Should include pin, password, biometrics, security keys
    5) Themes
    6) Application-based encryption to protect cached app data

    Take a look at Zoho's Trident application, there are some decent ideas/designs there.

16. Warn when too many recipients, and be able to select/copy/remove all

    I am trying to send news to my family and friends. I thought having the paid plan would allow me to avoid GMail and send the mail to everybody (150 emails approx). But I can't.
    What is even more frustrating:
    - there is no warning when we are close/reach the limit
    - there is no message saying "you are trying to send to 104 people, the limit is 100", just a general message
    - there is no way (AFAIK) to remove all BCC recipients directly, I need to remove them one by one
    - there is no way to select-all for copy-pasting in notepad++ (so I know get the entered emails, figure out the count, and remove the ones after 100)

20. ProtonVPN Plus and ProtonMail Plus separate subscriptions

    Online I see that for 2 years ProtonVPN plus plus is 3 EUR per month. When I log in to my ProtonMail (Plus), only the Proton Unlimited is visible for 10 EUR per month (I already have mail plus). I switch to VPN, then I get the VPN plus option, but it shows that I'll have only basic mail functionalities (looks like I will lose my Mail Plus if I switch to VPN Plus?). I only want VPN Plus to be able to VPN to Germany. I want to have Mail Plus and VPN Plus together (it's more worth it financially), but not the rest of the Proton Unlimited package for 10 EUR per month. These billing options just don't seem too well integrated. It's just annoying. Do I really need to create a new protonmail just to get what I want (I could get VPN Plus and Mail Plus under separate accounts)?
