  1. Proton Gateway for all services

The idea would be to have secure gateways (managed by Proton AND the community, via a Proton installer and/or procedure) with no logging capability whatsoever, systematically masking the IPs that "Proton services" can see. These gateways would be "black boxes" for those who install them at home, ensuring that absolutely no data or logs could be retrieved or used.

Let me explain: Similar to what SimpleX.chat does, for example, these relay servers/gateways would be systematically contacted by Proton apps (mobile, desktop, etc.), masking the use of Proton services (especially if connected to a server managed by a community member) and…

  2. Standard notes widget

It's the only thing stopping me from finally migrating from Google Keep... I need better visibility on important notes, not hidden in an app I might forget to look at or update

  3. Tails OS and Proton AG

I'll address this as a problem, not an opinion. First, the Proton Pass and Proton VPN Tor (Firefox) extensions don't work at all on Tails OS, and no Linux apps, especially Proton Mail Bridge, work properly (in .deb format). I know Tails OS is a Linux distribution focused on security and high-level privacy, but Proton and its privacy mission are excellently supported. My journalist colleagues and I have been using Proton Mail for a long time, and it's an indispensable service for us. I urge the Proton team to address this issue as soon as possible. If possible, contact Tails…

  5. pravacy

    Hello Proton Team,
Please consider improving the privacy and security control settings related to account login so that users can access their accounts more easily when needed. While we understand the importance of strong security measures, logging into Proton apps can sometimes be very difficult, especially in regions with slow internet connections or where your website is restricted. It would be very helpful if users could have more flexible control options to adjust security settings according to their needs. Thank you for your time and consideration.
    Best regards

  6. Account Lockdown

Sometimes we do our best to secure our private information and data - this could be by using ProtonPass to store emails and passwords or ProtonMail for secure communication.

Despite this, things can go wrong and in some cases, do go wrong. There are various ways third-parties can attempt to access our account to get the vital information we store, so what happens when they do?

Maybe an ex-partner found out your password or you fall victim to a phishing attack; your data exposed, computer maybe hacked - you may not realise it, but at any second someone could access…

  7. Proton Guardian: Anti-Spyware Solution for Deep-Level Security

Introducing Proton Guardian: Advanced Anti-Spyware for Deep Security

The idea of launching a dedicated anti-spyware tool under the Proton brand—let's call it Proton Guardian—could provide Proton users with a comprehensive security solution. This tool would scan systems for spyware, detect deep-level security vulnerabilities, and provide actionable solutions. With Proton's commitment to privacy, Proton Guardian could become a trusted choice for users looking to enhance their system's security against malware and spyware, building on Proton's reputation for privacy-focused services.

  8. Application Logging

Make application logging in all applications an option to enable or disable. Always having the application generating logs not only makes the application somewhat insecure, but it also generates a lot of application bloat and overhead. This would allow the applications to aways run a peak performance and not slow the applications down at launch or other areas of the application.

I especially see this being beneficial in the VPN app, over time the application become slow and somewhat unresponsive. Uninstalling the app, inproves the startup perfromance and over all performance of the application.

If a support case is needed,…

  9. Allow SMS Backup & Restore app to back up to Proton Drive

A lot of people in the GrapheneOS community use an app called SMS Backup & Restore. It allows backups to automatically sync to Google Drive. When I asked the app team if they would support backing up to Proton Drive, they said they would love to but the Proton team has to allow it first. I'm unsure of the technical details, but is there any way this could happen?

  10. Proton data centers all over the world under driveways and sidewalks and parking lots?

One thing I've noticed is that loading can be a bit slow and you probably need processing power in various locations. I was wishing for something to melt the snow on my driveway this morning, and thought of waste heat from data centers. So! How about I give you a free lease on the land under my driveway, you tap into my power and water infrastructure, you stuff a lil data center under the driveway and it melts my snow in winter?

If you did a bunch you could do distributed data centers all over the frozen north.

    Could also…

  11. End-to-End Encrypted Investment Portfolio Manager

I'd like to propose a new Proton service: an end-to-end encrypted portfolio manager that would complement Proton Wallet.

Similar to services like Finanzfluss Copilot or Parqet Portfolio Manager or even Google Finance, this would be a comprehensive investment tracking tool where users can:

Track stocks, ETFs, bonds, crypto, and other investments
Monitor portfolio performance with real-time market data
    Analyze asset allocation and diversification
    View historical performance and returns
    Track dividends and capital gains

Unlike existing portfolio managers, all user data would be end-to-end encrypted. Only the user would have access to:

    What they've invested in
    How much they own
    Their…

  12. Pop3 mail fetching via Proton's web interface

I would really like the ability to pop3 fetching email from other mailservers via Proton's web interface... that way I could use Proton as my primary mail service... trying to opt out of Gmail.

  14. Easy to find, site-map

    Dear Proton Team,

I hope this email finds you well. I'm a 63-year-old user trying to understand what's included in my current subscription plan, but I've found the account dashboard quite difficult to navigate.

After spending several minutes clicking through various links, I eventually found a "compare plans" option, but it only directed me to a list of apps at https://account.proton.me/apps.

I was particularly looking for information about the Documents feature in Proton Drive — I don't see it listed in the apps, and I'm wondering if it has been discontinued or removed from my plan. If it's not…

  15. Firefox-first Proton Scribe Browser Extension

I currently use LanguageTool, although not only did they recently switch to reCAPTCHA, they've been using Doubleclick for longer than I can remember.
As such, I'd appreciate it if there were a Proton Scribe browser extension, especially because I've been planning on upgrading to Proton Unlimited, and it would seem more worth-it if there were a writing system bundled in.
I suggest making it Firefox-first to respect users who have gone out of their way to switch away from Chromium.

  16. Proton Text to speech engine

How about a proton text to speech engine? There is a private one named Sherpa text to speech engine. Check here: https://github.com/k2-fsa/sherpa. The google/samsung ones are privacy nightmares. Lumo and other proton apps would have the ability to integrate with it.

  17. File Integration between Mail and Drive ( Attach / save )

It would be amazing to be able to do the following:
    - Attach files to Proton Mail directly from Proton Drive (as link or as file)
    - Save files from emails to Proton Drive
    - Mass save attachments to Proto Drive

  19. mails safe on hd ore sd at pc (same as outlook)

What is missing from every email provider but why Outlook (old) is so strong, you can save emails on your PC so that they are never lost even if you change PC and email provider, and you don't need maximum storage.

  20. Add a way to connect to a Proton account that will allow limited access

It could be useful to be able to connect into a Proton account from an untrusted device, without compromising our main password. For exemple when we visit a country that has a high chance to hack our device.

This could be a new password used for that purpose. To be secured, when we connect with that password, we shouldn't be able to edit the account settings. There could be restrictions on action that can be performed like we can't delete files in proton drive or we can't see the password of some service in Proton Pass. The best would be…
