dark mode for document editing
Many nightly writers would prefer to see a black page instead of a white one.

Add birthday field to contacts
It would be nice and it shouldn't take more than a day to deliver it.

Unified Application
Create a unified application platform to access all Proton features via a multi-OS application (Windows, macOS, Linux [Flatpak]).
I'm thinking functions like:
1) Workspace-like application with tabs down the left side for each application (Mail, Contacts, Pass, Drive, VPN, etc..)
2) Option to toggle individual apps on/off if the user does not want to include specific ones.
3) Option to pop-out individual apps
4) Configurable timeout/lock for the app platform. Should include pin, password, biometrics, security keys
5) Themes
6) Application-based encryption to protect cached app dataTake a look at Zoho's Trident application, there are some decent ideas/designs there.

If you built a privacy focused search engine, I would use it.

Add Monospace Option to Accessibility Font Family Setting
The Accessibility font family setting (Settings > Appearance > Accessibility) currently offers a small set of proportional fonts. Adding a monospace option would meaningfully improve phishing resistance for security-conscious users.
Monospace fonts make homoglyph attacks visible at a glance:
-rnvsm— clearly two characters in monospace, nearly identical in proportional
-lvs1vsI— distinct glyphs instead of ambiguous strokes
- Cyrillicаvs Latina— spacing differences become obvious
-paypa1.comvspaypal.com— the1stands out immediatelyFeature Request:
Add a "Monospace" option to the existing font family dropdown in…4 votes -

Allow user to directly login to uservoice with their proton account
It felt a little silly that I was offered options to login immediately with Facebook or Gmail, but not with Proton account. Uservoice should feel like it belongs to the same service ecosystem.

Create a built in feeback button in all services.
Please create a built in feedback button in all services (app and webpage). It should be easy to be a customer and to provide feedback.

Provide a checksum option to verify data is backed up as expected
It would be great if we could calculate a SHA512 checksum for files or folders we want to make sure have been backed up with absolutely no corruption. Make the feature on-demand, and not for every file anyone uploads to prevent unnecessary workload.

All in one desktop app
I wish instead of having 5 different services all on different platforms, all being separate entities, I wish all of the Proton Services were on one menu and one program I can download. Having to open 3 tabs for Mail, Calendar, Drive, then open an Extension or another Tab for Pass, and then a separate program for the VPN is EXTREMELY F**CKING FRUSTRATING! It's so hard to navigate.
If all of this was on one program you can download to manage all of this - Life would be miles better.

Single Linux yum repo for all Proton apps
Right now the Proton VPN can be installed from a Linux yum repo. For example: https://repo.protonvpn.com/fedora-42-stable/
This is great, because to update it, all I have to do is run "sudo dnf update", and if there is a new version of Proton VPN available, it gets updated. However, all the other Proton Linux apps (Pass, Authenticator, and the Mail beta) get installed by individual rpm downloads. Which means, if I want to update them, I have to download each rpm individually and re-install it to get the upgrade.
There should be one single yum repo for ALL proton apps, so…

A Proton Social Media Platform
Having an uncensored platform to express ideas would be a game changer in the world of social media. X, (formerly "Twitter"), as well as Gab, Truth Social, Parler, et. al., have moderators who decide what is acceptable. This is NOT free speech. What one person (or moderator), finds offensive, another may find humorous or innocuous or blustering rhetoric. Freedom to express ideas and opinions, even ones that some might find offensive, (i.e. war, race, gender, ethnicity, etc.,) or anything else that might hurt someone's feelings should be absolute. Having filters in place where users can choose whether or not to…

Proton Notes as a Complete Document and Knowledge System
I would like Proton to develop a fully integrated, privacy-first note and document system within the Proton ecosystem that can serve as a true Evernote alternative.
The key goal would be combining encrypted notes with embedded, searchable PDFs (including OCR) and structured folder organization in one unified system.
There is currently no European solution offering this level of integration, security, and document workflow in a single platform.

Linux supported equally
Linux is very popular among privacy concerned users, who make up a large chunk of Proton's userbase. However, Proton fails to provide any solid Linux apps and frequently leaves them unmaintained or released years after the initial product launch. Proton should make Linux a first-class platform, with proper support from day one.

Include Standard Notes with Proton Subscription
Since Standard Notes (SN) is part of Proton, it should really be included in subscriptions, at least the unlimited plan. (For an "unlimited" subscription, there seems to be a growing list of limitations; first it didn't include SN, now it also doesn't include Lumo AI.) In Standard Notes' 2025 update (https://standardnotes.com/blog/2025-update), they said:
What has changed since we joined Proton is our capacity. Being part of the Proton family means we can draw on the resources of a larger organization...
Why is Proton spending money and/or time improving another service that doesn't benefit its own users? It's strange…

Short link for creating new documents, emails, events, etc.
Excerpt from get.new: .new is a domain extension exclusively for performing new actions online: any act that leads to creation can have a quick and memorable new shortcut associated with it. Help your customers take action faster. Less time clicking means more time creating.
It would be extremely convenient to use proton.new for creating things in Proton. Everything I can think of:
proton.new/doc - New document
proton.new/sheet - New sheet
proton.new/mail & proton.new/email - New email
proton.new/event - New calendar event
proton.new/meeting - New meetingI think the plural forms of the words should work, too: doc & docs, event…

A videocall app comparable to MS Teams
No email ecosystem can nowadays exist without a videocall app.
Having to rely to external apps means setting up a calendar, copying the url etc.It would be easier to have a Proton videocall app.

Optional login alias (non-email authentication identifier)
Allow users to create an optional login alias that is not an email address and is used only for authentication.
Example:
• Account email: "username@protonmail.com"
• Login alias: "shaolintemple" (as an example)User can log in with either:
• email address
• existing username (email without domain)
• login alias
• whichever they preferThe login alias would:
• Not receive email
• Not resolve to @proton.me / @protonmail.com
• Be usable only on the login screen
• Be fully optional (opt-in)Why:
For power users, this adds defense-in-depth by preventing easy inference of a user’s email address…
