Custom App Icons
Add various themed and discreet app icons across the suite, similar to Signal.
Protonmail seems to have integrated something like this on iOS thus far, but only very basic discreet icons.6 votes -
Add optional Secret Service (D-Bus) key provider for pass-cli on desktop Linux (KWallet / GNOME Keyring)
Body:
On Linux, Pass CLI defaults toPROTON_PASS_KEY_PROVIDER=keyring. According to the docs, this uses kernel key retention (kernel keyring) on Linux to avoid relying on D-Bus in headless/server environments.
Because kernel secrets are cleared on reboot, this causes a forced logout after every reboot even on desktop systems:- Login works
- Reboot
- Next run:
"Local encryption key not found but session exists. Forcing logout … Run
pass-cli loginagain."`
This is expected with kernel keyring, but it’s not a good desktop experience. On KDE/GNOME desktops,
org.freedesktop.secrets(Secret Service) is available via D-Bus and users already rely on KWallet / GNOME…6 votes -
Password generator needs to support more characters
The generated password needs to be longer than 64 characters. 100 would be good and is supported by most applications.

Add extra password option to Proton Authenticator too
Extra password would make sense to have it in Proton Authenticator, This would make it more secure when contents are being backed up to iCloud.

Allow sharing with more than 2 free users while on paid plan
I am a subscribed Proton user, I made free Proton accounts for my family and shared a vault with two of them and they were able to accept it fine, but the rest cannot because they're "free users"
I can't have everyone in my family subscribe to Proton Pass just because I want to share a simple vault with them even though they don't use Proton Pass to begin with
What is the point of having extra allowance for sharing while on a paid plan if it'll only work with other paid users? It's not like every single person I'll…

Proton aliases to DUO partner
I would like to suggest an enhancement to the mail‑alias forwarding functionality.
Current limitation: At present, aliases can only be forwarded to the primary Proton address associated with the account. This works well for personal use, but it restricts the flexibility that DUO users expect.
Requested feature: Allow users to forward alias messages not only to their own Proton address but also to the email address of their DUO partner.

List of websites where autofill isn't working properly
Hi, I've noticed that the auto-fill isn't always working properly for some websites. So I'd like to start a thread where people list those websites and this way you could fix them and track their progress
I'll start:
Firefox and Proton Pass extension v1.32.11
- account.proton.me: TOTP auto-fill doesn't prompt after selecting it
- cdiscount.com: email address doesn't auto-fill on first page. But password works correctly

Default Vault for Saving New Items
When I save a new password, I keep finding that it has been saved to the wrong Vault. This is a problem because I have some shared vaults and do not want to expose passwords, etc., for non-shared products.
I request the ability to choose a default vault that new items will be added to if not designated otherwise, regardless of what Vault is open in Pass.

Feedback on Proton Authenticator UI Design
Hello Proton Team,
I’ve been a long-time Proton user — for over 5 years now, including my previous accounts — and I’ve always recommended Proton services to friends because of your trusted security and the clean, Apple-like design.
However, after installing and logging into Proton Authenticator, I was surprised by how different and less refined the UI felt compared to other Proton apps. The large header text and the overall layout make the interface look inconsistent with the elegant design language I’ve come to expect from Proton.
Please consider updating Proton Authenticator’s UI to match the design quality and visual…6 votes -

Native-feeling Mac app
There is a currently a Mac app but it is really unpleasant to use — it feels like a port of an app from another platform.
- Does not provide native macOS autofill, instead requires a browser extension
- No tabs or windows
- No keyboard shortcuts, you have to rely on the mouse for everything, not even ⌘, for preferences
- No “rubber band” scrolling which is a basic macOS feature that literally every app has
- With an item selected, up and down arrows scroll a bit instead of moving the selection
- Cannot right click an entry to act on it (delete, move, duplicate,…

Native Windows‑wide Autofill integration for Proton services
Proton’s autofill currently works only in the web and mobile apps, which leaves Windows users having to copy-paste or manually type sensitive data into desktop programs. This not only wastes time but also increases the risk of typos and accidental exposure. Competitors such as Bitwarden and 1Password already provide native Windows autofill extensions, leaving Proton at a usability disadvantage on the desktop.
To address this, we propose a lightweight, system-wide autofill extension for Windows — a secure background plugin that uses the Windows clipboard and input APIs to detect form fields and fill them automatically. All data would remain encrypted…
