Use Security Key without Authenticator App
I would like to additionally secure my account with a security key only, not with a 2FA authenticator app.

Watch compromised passwords
There is no feature to detect compromised passwords, only email adresses which is simply unuseful.
As in 1password, It only helps me when I know which passwords are leaked and have to be changed. This is the only important information, so the darknet feature is a nice salesfeature, but without a real security impact.please detect compromised passwords and display them.
see the 1password features for this.

Allow us to keep different sorting options for each vault, and make it persistent.

Offline access
It would be helpful if you could add, amend or do other things in Pass when there is no internet connection. It’s prohibitive without this ability.
2,628 votesSubscribers now have access to offline view with the introduction of the Proton Pass desktop app for Windows:

Merge passwords and aliases
It's nice to have Password and Aliases but the main goal of aliases is to replace the email to use it for a login, so with a password. Having aliases and passwords separated forces us to have duplicated entries for one login. It kind of double the entries for nothing and would be better to manage all this in one entry

Customize special characters and emojis in password generator
There needs to be a way to exclude Special Characters as some sites don’t support the #, ^, % or other certain special characters. There should be a box next to each special character that can be checked or unchecked.
So it might look like
✅ !
✅ @
❌ #
Also some Special Characters are missing from the password generator.
At the moment the special characters that the Password Generator generates is:
@ ! # * $ % ^ &
The missing Special Characters that should be added to the password generator to be able to generate is:

Share custom domains used for aliases with members of multi-user plan
When I subscribe to a multi-user plan (Duo, Family, Visionary), I can create email addresses for other users from any custom domain that's been added via the Proton settings.
However, other users cannot use domains that I have added to SimpleLogin (or now, Proton Pass). Please rationalize the use of domains across Proton Mail / Pass / SimpleLogin so that there's one way and custom domains can be shared with plan users for all purposes.

Save custom item types as templates
Now that it is possible to create 'Other' items – even completely from scratch – it would be nice if I could save these custom items as templates.
This would allow me to re-use my custom item types, instead of having to re-create them every single time.

Multi-Page Login: Auto-Fill Password on Second Page After Username Entry
Many websites, like Google, split their login process into two pages: one for the username/email and another for the password. Currently, when using ProtonPass, we need to manually select our login item on both pages, which feels a bit redundant and inconvenient.
With 1Password, once you select your login on the username/email page, it automatically fills in the password on the subsequent page without any additional input.
This feature significantly enhances user experience by providing a smoother, quicker login process. It would be fantastic if ProtonPass could implement a similar streamlined multi-page login auto-fill functionality!

Improve favicon / website icon fetching for entries
When adding a website to an entry, Proton tries to fetch the favicon and display it as the entry icon. However, this does not always work — in many cases no icon is shown, even though the website clearly has a favicon or app icon.
It would be great if the favicon fetching could be improved, for example by:
• Supporting more common favicon locations and file types (e.g. PNG, SVG, app-icons).
• Falling back to higher resolution icons where available.
• Ensuring consistent results across websites. This would make entries more visually recognizable and improve usability, especially when managing…

Unlock Proton Pass by Security key
I would like to see a security key added to the Proton Pass unlock means in the browser and desktop apps.
PIN is insecure because the phrase is short. It is also difficult to remember additional phrases.
The password is long and complicated because I have set a strong password and it is hard to type it in every time.
I have set up a security key for 2-step verification of my account. That is very useful and I would like to use it for my Proton Pass unlock as well.21 votes -
Be able to auto-lock browser extensions with extra password, not just pin
Hello,
I would like to suggest allowing the auto-lock feature with the extra password on the browser extension. Currently, this feature is available for the web app but on the browser extension the only auto lock feature is with a PIN, not the extra password. This would allow extra security, and the feature is already (relatively) there since it's available on the web app.
Thanks!

Passkey support on macOS
See: https://support.apple.com/guide/security/credential-provider-extensions-sec6319ac7b9/web
The current macOS app does not provide a ASCredentialProviderExtension app extension, so macOS will not offer Proton Pass as an option for System Settings → General → Autofill & Passwords. This means that passkeys will not work natively.
Even with the macOS app installed and the Safari app extension installed, when a site asks for a passkey, Proton is not an option. Instead, you have to use a QR code with the iOS app, which is very inconvenient and not the intended Passkey experience. And this is only if the site allows cross-platform passkeys (many sites do not,…

DropBox Passwords needs an import
DropBox is removing their otherwise simple and awesome password feature. I suspect the simplicity I love is the reason they have decided to let other solutions provide that particular feature.
On Oct 8, 2025, all passwords will be gone. As we approach, more and more people are going to look for an easy way to transfer their stuff. It would be good marketing to announce that you are here to help.
The CSV import feature failed - it wondered about field names. Looking online, I didn't find any description of what the CSV import could do or what features it…

Make text from ProtonPass web browser extension private
Clipboard managers have internal functions that tells them not to remember stuff copied from certain sources, which is the behaviour we'd want from whatever comes out of password managers.
Unfortunately, the copied text coming out of the ProtonPass web browser extension (at least on Firefox) is plain text and my clipboard manager remembers it forever in its memory, which is not ideal for security. (I'm using Pasteboard Viewer to check the type of text that is stored in the clipboard.)
Apparently, there is a way to tag text as sensitive from browser extensions: this was reported in an issue on…
