Support BitcoinCash
I currently use Mullvad, a VPN that accepts three cryptocurrencies; Bitcoin, Monero, and BitcoinCash.
My proposal suggests adding XMR and BCH to both Proton Wallet and the accepted payment methods for Protonmail.
Both of these currencies are extremely reliable, basically free to use, and easily made private with one being opt-in. BTC doesn't have any of these qualities in any shape or form without losing custody or experiencing extreme friction.
Be more like Mullvad, or simply be smart. What use is a wallet if you can't transact?

Use ProtonWallet for Mobile Ticketing
Since COVID, almost every ticketed event has transitioned to mobile ticketing, tied to either Apple Pay or Google Wallet. Graphene OS allows me to run Google Waller more securely than stock Android, but I'd love it if sporting events, concerts, boarding passes, movies, etc could be handled by Proton instead.

GNU Taler support
GNU Taler is an open source payment system that allows users to make private payments using a compatible app. I suggest Proton consider adding Taler support to Proton Wallet as it would enable fiat currency payments in a way that would draw less scrutiny from regulators.

Be able to be alerted when the price of the bitcoin goes under or higher than a certain amount
It would be great to receive a notification when the price of the bitcoin goes higher or under a certain threshold. We could set the values and be alerted when the price changes fastly.

Support Kaspa Wallets
Kaspa offers a fast energy-efficient Proof-of-Work with minimal transaction fees, making it a scalable and eco-friendly blockchain solution. I think it would be a great addition to Proton Wallet.

Implement MobileCoin (MOB)
MobileCoin is a privacy-focused, open-source, fast, and efficient payments blockchain and protocol. It was designed with lightweight mobile and web use-cases in mind. Transactions execute and sync lightning-fast, fully confidential, and, thanks to community-led efforts to offset its (comparatively low) emissions, carbon-negative.

Currency Conversion/Coin Swap
If the wallet starts supporting new coins it would be great if you added currency conversion support like, say, Cake Wallet has. Some popular Coin Swap services are ChangeNOW.io and trocador.app

Fiat-backed Stablecoins
Supported by and easily transferred across all major blockchains. Practical, everyday use cases. Lends itself to enabling a fiat wallet as well. Yes, USDT overshadows USDC as a percentage of global stablecoin 'volume', but USDT has its issues. Long term, it seems USDC, or a new entrant, emerges, but so long as Proton can avoid issues making USDT available (in addition to USDC, and perhaps one or two others), USDC + USDT + fiat seems useful for the broadest audience.

Support Cardano
Please add support for Cardano.
+ Adding support for resolving ADAHandles would be very helpful for transaction. ADAHandles is working on supporting other blockchain addresses as well, so this could potentially be a tertiary benefit in the future.20 votes -

Add an option to create accounts compatible with Spark L2 Bitcoin
Hi,
Many people consider Proton Wallet not ideal to store life savings, but instead, good to store low Bitcoin amount and I think they are correct. So in my opinion make a lot of sense to implement Lightning, but instead of implementing Lightning directly, Proton should integrate https://spark.info/ L2 Bitcoin that has interoperability with Lightning. Users could choose to create Proton accounts compatible with Spark Bitcoin Layer. I think would be amazing, please consider this. Thanks.

Crypto Mixer Built In
By its very nature, Bitcoin and most other crypto transactions are public and can be traced back fairly easily. Frankly, there are many, many wallets out there already and I don't see a reason for Proton to get in on that and dilute resources.
HOWEVER, Proton could make its Wallet truly outstanding by adding a mixer feature, similar to Tornado or Ergo. I realize this could potentially open legal implications but Proton crew is clever and can probably figure out a way around this.
Otherwise I don't really understand why Wallet even exists. It does nothing most other crypto wallets…18 votes -
