Something that was identical to the free plan but started you out with 1 additional email address (as well as allow you to use your pm.me address for outgoing mail). You could add on more addresses, storage, etc for an additional cost. I love the subscription model vs having my data sold, but I don't want to worry about losing email addresses I may depend on if something happens that I couldn't afford the plus plan.
Edit: I see you basically said the same thing at the end of you post. :-D

I agree, the +alias system has caused a lot of usability issues for me. If I could I would use an alias on every service for data tracking purposes but the + sign is rejected quite a lot and it is pretty obvious that it's an alias. Use of the - sign or even a string of random letters would be an ideal alternative.
