The absence of the proton app under linux is a blocking to use the full extend of possibilities.
Also, is seems a bit counter-productive for the Proton values.
I use the tools to prevent me from the Digital Services Act, Cloud Act, and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which I find are not justified, even if legal.
Using Microsoft Windows or Apple MacOS even with no servers in the U.S. could make us fall into this legislation, as OS providers, have data transiting into their software.
Using a Linux, and specially designed distros could help avoïd this.
For another topic and test purposes, is it possible to have the binaries of the Windows version, not packed into the installer?
I would like to experiment if all goes fine when used under Linux with Wine and the gaming for Linux various compatibility libraries could just simply work.
Best,
Fab.
