YES THIS!
Then people can continue to use their Apple Mail and Calendar with the added security of Proton. No need to have to learn the clunky and unintuitive Proton email client, ie they can get up to speed immediately, benefiting from Proton's privacy and security from the comfort of their familiar email client.

I've found this out myself and have come here to trawl through the ideas.
This issue repeatedly appears and it seems Proton ignore it.
I currently have a ticket with them about this exact issue and haven't had a reply for 3 days so far. I am an unlimited subscriber which they told me means I should be prioritised in the ticket queue.

Having two separate and different apps ie Mail and Calendar under the same heading is unbelievable. WHY WHY WHY?
The cynic in me says that it's because Proton will go its own way regardless of what its users say or think, and this site is just there to pretend they 'are listening' but in fact they will do whatever they want. A bit like that fruit-based company...
Compared to Apple Mail which isn't perfect, Proton Mail is way behind in the UI and I find it hard to believe that they don't look at other email clients and copy the best bits.
I'm prepared to put up with some inconveniences in exchange for better privacy and security, but a lot of the requests here are what Americans would call 'email 101' ie basic stuff that everyone expects from an email client in the first place.
I will persevere with Proton Mail but I do feel I'm working on a beta version, even though I am a paying customer.

I'm fairly new to Proton Mail (but have used many different email clients over the decades) and I'm astonished that Proton thinks this is acceptable! Very much a 'trust us' approach rather than giving the user information that would allow them to visually check the 'From' address rather than just seeing the main Proton address.
I picked this up immediately after I replied to an email from one of my alias addresses. I have contacted Simplelogin about it, and suggested that in the From box they show the alias address with [alias of ***.proton.me] appended so you can see which of your supposedly protected Proton emails it was linked to.
Or even (although less useful) put in the From box something like 'ALIAS OF ***.proton.me' with a hyperlink so you can go and see which alias it is.
It is really not on that I see my Proton main email in the From box when I reply to an alias even though it may actually be sent from the alias internally.
It's probably because Simplelogin is a bolt-on to Proton Mail and not native to it, but that's beside the point. Proton need to sort this urgently.

Trawling through these posts this is yet another example of Proton's lack of respect for its users. One commenter below says he's been asking for this for years!
