I have exactly the same issue, especially in long email conversations. When I collapse a message after reading it, the view jumps and I immediately lose track of which message I was just looking at.

It would be very helpful if the scroll position simply stayed in place when collapsing a message. Alternatively, the most recently collapsed message could remain visually highlighted for a moment, so it is easy to see where you were.

At the moment, going through a long conversation to find information from a specific email can be quite frustrating, because it is very easy to lose your position in the thread.

It would be great if you could improve navigation within email conversations, especially when individual messages are expanded and collapsed.

When I collapse a message after reading it, it is very difficult to see which message I was just looking at. It would be really helpful if the most recently collapsed message could remain visually highlighted, or if the view could at least stay in the same position instead of jumping away, so that I can immediately see where I was in the conversation.

At the moment, it is almost impossible to keep track of your position in longer email threads, especially when going back through a conversation to find specific information in a particular message.

A small visual marker or simply keeping the scroll position when collapsing a message would make navigating long conversations much easier.
