How can we improve Proton Mail?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Display SPF, DKIM and DMARC check results in email details

    When viewing the original email, Gmail tells you whether the checks passed, for example:
    SPF: PASS
    DKIM: PASS
    DMARC: PASS
    I use the most expensive Proton subscription and still don’t have this feature. It will be very helpful to see these checks in the details of the letter. Thanks for considering this idea.

  2. Change default time for snooze settings

    The new snooze feature is great, but it defaults to 09:00. When I check my email in the morning it's earlier than 09:00, so it would be helpful to have a way to change the default settings for this.

  3. Add print preview to desktop app

    Please add print preview to the desktop app.

    When printing from ProtonMail in a browser, you can see what the printout will look like, how many pages it will take, etc., and format accordingly. That's not possible in the desktop app.

  5. Family plan with 6 custom domains

    It wouldn't be uncommon for a family seeking this type of service to require 6 individuals with personalized email domains, each having their own unique domain. The fact that the individual plan provides 3 custom domains for a single user leads me to believe that it would be reasonable to expect that in a plan for 6 users, each person could have at least one domain.

    My new idea is for Protonmail to add the ability to sort emails by sender ASAP. Thank you.

  7. Block access from Country

    Hello

    My suggestion is to add a feature to block all logins attempt for IP/Country.

    For example, I want to enable just IP's address from Brazil to login on my Protonmail or just Japan for example, and a option to lock all other countries/IP address.

  10. Switch accounts in Linux desktop app

    The linux desktop app cannot be easily re-launched independently, nor can I use multiple accounts with it; this makes it harder for me to use. Please either make it so that invocations of the application launch new instances, with configuration handled appropriately, or that individual accounts can be launched in e.g. tabs.

    I really like where this app is going, thank you for making it.

  11. Use @passmail.com domain

    Another similar request was made here:

    But I would like to use the @passmail.com domain when making a new address on my account. That domain is far more reasonable to say over the phone instead of protonmail.com or pm.me. :)

  13. Sort contacts with tags

    Can we please get tags for individual contacts? Can't add contacts to groups without an email address but need to be able to group contacts that don't have email addresses.

  14. View multiple email tabs in desktop app

    In the OSX email app, I would love to have multiple tabs open within the app, so that I could multitask: take my time drafting an email in one tab, read other emails in other tabs, while monitoring incoming new mail, etc. I do this all the time in the web browser version, but would very much prefer to continue using the desktop app. Thanks!

  18. Organize inbox by my email addresses

    Hello, in the InBox, when you are using several mail addresses, would it be possible to display and organise the mails by mail address. The user would have the impression of having several inboxes. You could display the "Incoming mails" as you do with the "more" (the triangle that allows to collaspe / expand) with a collapse /expand then the user could select the adress she/he wants to process.   20. Make unsubscribe work with SimpleLogin

    The current implementation of the "unsubscribe from mailing list" does not cooperate with emails forwarded from SimpleLogin. It currently sends a request to unsubscribe to "unsubscribe@simplelogin.co" <image>. I think it would be nice if it instead made a reverse alias and actually sent the unsubscribe message to the email address that SL forwarded it from.
