  2. Support older MacOS versions (e.g. Mojave 10.14.6)

Is it possible to support older OS versions with a desktop app? Even a reduced feature set would be fine.

My OS version is MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 for several reasons (stability, performance, etc.).

I still like the convenience of a desktop app to handle my various email addresses for quick access (versus web interface).

  3. How Can I Split a Single VCF File into Separate Contact Files Without Errors?

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here can help me with a contacts-related issue. I currently have one VCF file that stores all my contacts together. Over time, this file has become quite large, and now I need to separate each contact into its own individual VCF file. The reason is that I often need to share specific contacts and also import them into different devices and platforms, but a single large file creates problems.

I tried some manual methods to split VCF file content, like editing the file in a text editor, but it quickly became confusing. I’m also concerned…

  4. Hard wrap lines at custom widths

When writing plain text email, I typically want (or sometimes need) to enforce a maximum line length/column width in my email to ensure it is easily readable. Most commonly this is 72-80 columns, but can occasionally vary to 100-120 columns. To my knowledge, Proton Mail doesn't provide a way to hard wrap lines in this manner. So I currently have to write these emails in a separate text editor which does hard wrap lines before copy-pasting it into Proton Mail.

This is obviously quite tedious, and it would be a lot easier if Proton Mail included this feature. Perhaps there…

  5. Proton Calendar Feedback Link Goes to Wrong Forum

The 'Request a Feature' link in the Calendar tab of Proton Mail for desktop goes to:

    https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932842-proton-calendar

Since the Calendar UserVoice forum has been merged with Mail, the link no longer works. Currently it this URL goes to the Lumo feedback forum. It should go to:

    https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail-calendar

Proton Mail (macOS Version 1.10.1 (1.10.1))

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Click on calendar tab
    2. Click on profile image
    3. Click 'Help and Feedback'
    4. Click 'Request a feature'

  6. Mail and Calendar view both simultaneously. /ProtonMail-desktop.deb

Find it inefficient to constantly switch between Mail and Calendar within the same window when need to view both simultaneously.
ie. you can't have distinct, separate windows for Mail and Calendar open at once. I guess its not suited to multi monitor setup ATM.

Its great though so keep it up:)

  8. How can I ensure zero contact loss during a business contact migration?

    Hi guys,
We are migrating contacts for a small business, and even one missing client contact could cause serious issues. We have contacts stored in VCF format from multiple sources, and the target systems are Outlook and Lotus Notes. Manual methods seem risky, and free tools don’t inspire confidence. We need a process that ensures complete and accurate contact migration.

  9. Hide archived mails on label view

Please add a feature to hide archived mails when I'm opening label view.

I'm organizing emails with label by sender, but Proton Mail shows every emails when I'm opening label view.

    I need filter functionality.

  10. Tokenised, deterministic, LLM powered Inbox Triage

I'm concerned that the privacy-first nature of proton will cause it to lag behind privacy-backward competitors and create relative friction in the UX which becomes a real burden.

With a secure LLM operating on your own servers this doesn't have to be the case.

You guys could implement a sufficiently constrained implementation with your in-house LLM which can pre-emptively offer very smart AI actions for those of us who don't mind it running on your servers (this is a compromise I'd be willing to make for the functionality, and lesser functionality could be offered to those who aren't).

    I'm imagining…

  11. Prompt with frequently used folders for moving emails

When the user chooses to move a message to a folder, all of the folders appear, starting at the top. It would be useful to have an option to move to, like outlook, one of the most recent, say, dozen folders, or to the most frequently used folders, and then to choose another if the folder being sought is not on that shorter list. Also it would be good if one could collapse subfolders into the parent folder when choosing where to move a message, as that would shorten the list.

  12. Proton Calendar: Travel Time for Events

Allow users to define optional travel time before and after an event. These times are shown as blocked in the calendar, while the core event duration remains unchanged. The calendar then reflects the true time commitment of the event.

  13. Linux Window Snapping / Tiling

Feature to drag the Proton Mail application to the left/right edge of the screen to adjust the size (just like with other apps).

In the Fedora GUI, the app has this feature for the top edge (full screen), but not for the side edges (half screen size).

  14. Opt out of FCM and Google Services - Firebase

Changing the android app (and others) to not use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) or any service provided by Google.

Settings to use other services (opt out of FCM) for push notifications:
    - Unified Push
    - Proton push notification service (if developed)

  15. Collapsible replies within an existing message

Current email messages that are replies of replies of replies are well organized in threads, however the email message itself is extremely long and having to scroll through the messages within a thread defeats the purpose if we are unable to see just the message and not the quoted text.

It would be great if you can collapse the quoted text. That's the feature request. Nothing crazy, just a way to hide sections of the email that are redundant and not useful (since the thread actually exists).

  16. Go directly to the folder when using the 'M' shortcut

It's just ergonomics, but it would be nice to be able to go directly to the folder's name when using the 'M' shortcut in the mailbox. Currently, we have to type the first letters, then use the narrow button to go down to the folder's name, then select it with the space bar and click enter to perform the action. It would be better if we could just type the first letter and click Enter.

  18. Which Excel to VCF Converter Is Fastest?

I am currently managing a large Excel sheet containing thousands of contacts and need to convert it into VCF (vCard) format as quickly as possible. I have tried a couple of manual and online methods, but they either take too long or fail when handling bulk data. Can anyone suggest the fastest Excel to VCF converter that can handle large files without freezing or data loss? I am looking for a solution that maintains accuracy while saving time, especially for urgent migrations.

  19. What is the best long-term strategy for migrating old Excel contact lists?

    Hi Everyone,

I have several Excel files containing contacts accumulated over many years. These files were created in different formats and structures. I want to migrate all this data into modern systems such as smartphones, cloud email platforms, and contact management applications. I am looking for a long-term solution that ensures compatibility, accuracy, and ease of future migrations.

  20. Option to have the week start on Sunday

People who work shift work, like I do, often have weekly schedules that start on sunday. Adding the option to have the week start on Sunday instead of forcing monday would benefit folks like me. It's currently not possible to have biweekly recurring events that are accurate to my shift schedule in Proton calendar because of this without making biweekly repeating events for each of my workdays.

    Thanks!
