1. Auto-spam emails from unsubscribed lists

   It'd be nice if it were possible to automatically flag as spam any email from a distribution list for which I used Proton Mail's "Unsubscribe" feature to remove myself from the list. The idea is that if the list owner is not going to honor unsubscribe requests, and since I already indicated that I do not want to receive those emails, then the emails from that list are spam and should be treated as such. An automatic method to take care of this would be handy.

2. Move calendar events

   I know this is an option on the web version but on the IOS/mobile apps we NEED to be able to drag and drop events without having to open them and reselect the date or time. This is a critical feature for any functioning calendar app in my opinion.

4. Add support for ntfy push notifications

   We should not have to use google play services to get notifications. Luckily there is ntfy.sh which is an open source alternative. Apps like Element already support it.

5. Event cancellation and rescheduling.

   When an appointment or event is cancelled or rescheduled I often need a record of the originally scheduled day and time.

   At minimum I would like the ability to add strikethrough text to the event title, so that I know that the event was cancelled.

   Ideally I would like a cancel button (next to the delete and edit buttons) that strikes the event title and turns off notifications, and asks if I would like to reschedule. If I reschedule, it will duplicate the original event and allow me to set a new date (and modify the other settings, if needed). This would leave the original event struck through without notifications and adds a new event at a new date and time.

   Of course the implementation can vary, especially if you want to expand this for events with other participants.

   Note: I primarily use the Android app so if this is available elsewhere please bring it to Android.

6. Support iCalendar RFC 5545 Recurrence Properties

   Currently, Calendar imports do not support "Events based on recurrence rules that are not supported by Proton Calendar". The current Calendar UI supports a very limited set of recurrence rules meaning imports are also limited. This significantly impacts the ability to create and/or import calendar events that use somewhat common recurrence rules not currently supported by Proton. In UserVoice, there are a number of suggestions to support various combinations of additional recurrence rules. My recommendation is to "consolidate" these into this (???) recommendation for supporting all recurrence rules defined in the iCalendar specification (RFC 5545) (see https://icalendar.org/iCalendar-RFC-5545/3-8-5-recurrence-component-properties.html).

   This recommendation could be implemented in a phased approach where imports could be implemented first to provide the desired capabilities until the UI implementations for adding/editing events can be accomplished. For this to work, I know the Calendar display would need to be modified to display these imported recurrence rules. To minimize that effort, a human-friendly text representation could easily be generated from the recurrence rule for display in the calendar. (NOTE: See an implementation example in https://www.npmjs.com/package/rrule for the 'toText()' method.)

   For the benefit of other users/voters, the recurrence properties specified in an iCalendar (RFC 5545) event include:
   * Recurrence Rule (RRULE) - The recurrence rule is used in computing the recurrence set. The current set of Proton supported recurrence rules are included in RRULE. (See the RRULE Tool at https://icalendar.org/rrule-tool.html for the RRULE possibilities).
   * Recurrence Date-Times (RDATE) - a list of specific date/date-times to include in the recurrence set.
   * Exception Date-Times (EXDATE) - a list of specific date/date-times to exclude from the recurrence set.
   Even the implementation of these recurrence properties could be implemented in a phased approach starting with the RRULE.

7. incremental download

   Allow email download to begin at a certain date and time. I back up my email every month. It's not really necessary to download the entire thing every time.

8. Inbox view - dislpay most recent label

   The inbox view currently displays the top-most label in the hierarchy of labels if an email chain has more than one label. It should display the label assigned to the most recent email, the one actually displayed in the inbox view. The one relevant to the email entry right next to it. For example the most recently received email has a label L but previously there was a label A assigned to one of the past emails from the same sender. Label A is displayed incorrectly where a more recent and more accurate label L should be showing. Label A is not relevant to the email at hand at all.

   I have different custom domains, each has a different label. Receiving email from the same sender groups the email into one chain. If the same sender sent an email to more of my domains, they get different labels correctly, however they do not display correctly. 9. Add opt-out for internal delivery of calendar invitations

   When a Proton user invites another Proton user to a calendar event, Proton resolves the recipient against its internal directory and delivers the invite directly into Proton Calendar — bypassing any external email flow entirely. There is no setting to disable this behavior.

   This breaks workflows for users who rely on external calendars (Google Calendar, Outlook) as their primary calendar. The invite never reaches the external calendar, requiring manual .ics export/import every time.

   Requested feature:
   A toggle under Settings → Calendar → Invitations:

   "Receive calendar invitations via standard iCalendar email (disable internal delivery)"

10. Automatically detect and prefill event time from text entered in the description field

    When a calendar event description starts with a time (e.g., '17:00' or '5 PM'), automatically detect it with regex and prefill the event’s time fields—simple to implement, high user value, inspired by Google Calendar. (or let me know and I will implement it for you <3)

11. expand day+week view

    When in week view, we should be able to view all the items (that have no time) we have. Now we see only 3 or 4 no matter how big the screen is. On the left where we see "GMT+1' there should be a drop down arrow to expand the top part of the screen and see all items on all 7 days. Now the focus is too much on the hours view of the days.

    Now I have to click all the days where I see: '3 items more' and cant have oversight.

12. Option to hide the left sidebar when viewing an email on OSX

    On web, you can simply click a left arrow and it minimizes the sidebar. But you can't do this in the OSX desktop app. Would love increased focus in my experience when reading an individual email, side bar is distracting. Thanks

13. Auto-delete unwanted messages options

    Would be useful to enable auto-delete only for trash or spam separately, and being able to decide the number of days to wait (at least among a list of presets)

    Currently, the self-destruct option can only be selected for each email individually. It would be really useful to be able to select multiple emails and choose a self-destruct time for all of them.

15. Weather <- directly related to VPN

    Hello, this is directly related to VPN HOWEVER, it does not matter if it's VPN from proton or otherwise, because the whole ideea is to have privacy.

    Context: people don't understand that global warming is not like how it's in movies but how it was during pandemic lockdown from a few years ago. As in, no, the houses, you, other things, won't burn up, but, you won't see a lot of people out exactly because of hot weather

    now, i hope i made it clear why, anyone with health condition, long time spend out, or otherwise (rail, snow, fog, very bad weather) would want a weather app that is lined to their Email and Calendar.

    as in, you put in your calendar for privacy, but now, you still need to check the weather, no? so you are compromising your privacy.

    And the email: more or less automatic messages to recive if, an event mentioned in Calendar VS weather forcast (aka we manually set what to get) shows issues, or on the contrary, we want to make sure it will be sunny next week, and to get informed if the weather changes.

    Ideea is that as silly as it sounds, weather is directly linked to location, activities, appointments, essentially all the reasons why someone, who, despite seeing the weather with their own eye right now, still wish to check a weather forcast.

    PS the email notifications are more or less QoL feature, since the Plus version of Calendar sounds a bit of a letdown and the weather can be extremly welcoming if we use the more then 1 calendar with different people.

    BTW: i want to remind everyone, my suggestion is DESPITE VPN ON. As in i am setting vpn to the other side of the globe? well the weather still will be recived from where i am, without compromising privacy.

    Aka: please don't mention workarounds, since weather is very easy to get incognito like Tor or similar. The ideea is for a QoL feature, to further make the proton products better and privacy 1st!

16. Per-address default formatting for font, text size, signature, and coloring.

    Emails coming from different addresses may have different intentions and styles, and should be able to have individual defaults set for them, including font, size, color, and signatures.

17. ## Feature Request: Native System Tray Support on Linux (Wayland)

    Problem

    On Linux with KDE Plasma 6 on Wayland, clicking the ✕ close button fully quits Proton Mail. There is no option to minimize it to the system tray and keep it running in the background, which means missed notifications and having to reopen the app every time.

    Requested behavior

    When the user clicks the close button, the app should minimize to the system tray instead of quitting. A tray icon should appear with:
    - Single click: show/hide the window
    - Right-click menu: "Show / Hide" and "Quit"

    This is standard behavior in desktop mail clients like Thunderbird, and is especially important for a mail client users want running persistently in the background.

    Platform
    - OS: Linux (Arch-based)
    - Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma 6
    - Display Server: Wayland
    - App version: 1.13.0

    Implementation note

    Electron's native Tray API supports this on Linux. The core logic would be: intercept the close event with event.preventDefault(), hide the window from the taskbar via win.setSkipTaskbar(true) + win.minimize(), and restore it on tray click. On Wayland, the KWin DBus scripting API (qdbus6 org.kde.KWin) can be used to reliably activate the window when requested.

    This is a frequently requested feature by Linux users — please consider adding it natively.

18. Allow moving sent email to inbox

    The same as Gmail allows, I want to be able move a sent email to my inbox after sending. This is a highly common activity if you want to check in a few days that someone has responded to your email and not forget about it. It's not possible currently without the suggested features. There is currently a 'mark as unread' feature, but that doesn't put the email in your inbox, so you'll never check it again.

19. Would be possible to give out PGP public key for an Hide-my-email alias?

    I would like to publish alias on my website and also mention public key which people can use to establish secure communication with me without them being able to discover my real/main proton address.

    I cannot find such a feature request. Hopefully, it's not because this request is nonsense.

20. Please enable the ability to make an email pop out so we're not restricted to reading and editing emails in the limited preview window.

    I’d like to request the ability to open emails in a separate window (pop-out) directly from the inbox or preview pane.
    Currently, emails can only be viewed within the preview pane, which limits visibility of content and access to full functionality. This creates friction when reviewing longer or more complex messages.
    Ideally, this would function similarly to other email clients, where a user can:
    preview an email in the reading pane, and open that same email in a separate window or tab for full viewing and interaction
    At present, there does not appear to be a clear or consistent way to do this in the current interface.
    Adding this capability would significantly improve usability and workflow efficiency.
