  1. Let fairemail client app configure your mail

It would be nice if you could just get it together with them as a email client application that just inherited the proton mail client so I could use all my emails on one application while I still keep the proton Mail app as well. Just wanted to let that expression out and don't expect you guys to listen but it's worth a shot.

  2. Search within move to

I use Proton Mail version 1.13.3 on my Mac, and it is easy to move emails into folders using the search function (Filter folders).
This feature is not available on the mobile app for iPhone and iPad; you have to scroll through the folders to get there.

  3. Self Destruct improvement - set number of days

    The problem:
Since there is no mass self destruct option, it has to be done one by one, and setting a date and time value for each mail can be a hassle.

    A possible solution:
An option to set self destruct by number of days (possibly hours) would be a huge but easy improvement.

If the UI remembered the last used day (or hour) value, it would be even better.

  4. Right-click context menu option to search all emails from the same sender

Gmail offers a simple right-click (or long-press) context menu on any email that includes an option like "Search mail from [sender@example.com]". This instantly filters the inbox to show all messages from that sender — no manual search query needed.

I'd love to see Proton Mail add the same UX pattern:
    - Right-click any email in the message list
    - A context menu option appears: "Show all emails from [sender]"
    - Clicking it runs an automatic search filtered to that sender's address

This is a huge quality-of-life improvement for power users who manage high-volume inboxes, hunt down subscriptions, or…

  5. Flagging email importance

I would like to be able to flag the importance of outgoing emails. Default should be Normal, but it would be nice to be able set the importance/priority to High for some emails, so the recipient knows whether an email has above average importance and could also filter by this flag.

Note that this is different than the Star marking, which can not be applied during email composition and can not be transferred to the recipient.

  6. Email List Archive

Users select authorized email subscription lists and assign a retention policy to them (quantity or age). Only messages that meet the requirements, for that email list identification (sender, directly addressed, subject, size, and combination thereof), are maintained in the mailbox and the rest are automatically deleted. This helps reduce clutter and consumption. ideally it is run on the server side on receipt but it could be a client side rule or even folders with rules or a combination of the client side rule and a folder retention policy..

  7. Clicking the unread email count does not filter the message list

The Windows Mail app displays the number of unread emails, but clicking this number does nothing. Users must manually enable the unread filter, which is less convenient.

    Steps to reproduce:
-Open a mailbox that contains unread emails.
-Click the displayed unread email count.

    Expected behavior:
The message list is filtered to show only unread emails.

    Actual behavior:
Nothing happens when the unread email count is clicked.

  8. Hide less relevant calendars from the sidebar

Over time, some calendars stop being useful or relevant. It would good to be able to archive a calendar without removing it. You just do not make all calendars visible on the sidebar rather than have a list of checked-out calendars which provide no further help to you.

  10. Useless for a desktop user - Can't be used offline

What a letdown when you discover that your desktop app is nothing more than a copy of your website. That you can't make it so that you can check your existing emails and calendar offline is so bad that I can't find words. Then you really should have clear information that your app is only a copy of your website and cannot be used offline.

  11. Allow payments in Booking Pages

Integrating the Booking Pages with Stripe, Paypal etc. would be great. I use it for my small business where I meet with clients one on one, and I'd like them to be able to pay for the sessions they book with me.

  12. Allow Comments on Emails

Comments on Emails are a huge time saver.
Labels are good for general actions llike 'Do' 'Await response', 'Read' 'Decide'
Comments are good when you have numerous emails from one sender all with same header.
If one of those emails needs to be found later there are a lot to sift through.
One email with a unique comment saves a lot of time.Eg 'Decision re meeting time' or 'Pay bill by 9Feb26'

  13. Shred message(s), for immediate deletion without going through the trash

Sometimes I get transient emails, like notifications from services that I don't want cluttering up the trash. I'd love an option to manually shred them (maybe option + delete button), and as an action in the filters. You can add additional guardrails ("are you sure), just allow me to ultimately turn them off

  14. Configurable reminders for muted email categories

The new email categories—such as Social, Promotions, and Transactions—are a great way to keep the inbox more organized. However, when a category is muted, it can become easy to forget to check it altogether, even when new messages have arrived.

I would love to see configurable reminders for individual categories. If there are new messages since I last viewed a category, Proton Mail could show a subtle reminder:

    • At a chosen time, such as every evening
    • At a configurable frequency, for example daily or weekly
    • Only when the category contains unread messages since it was last opened

    Ideally, this would…

  15. Per-event free/busy status toggle in Proton Calendar (essential for appointment scheduling)

Currently, Proton Calendar only allows busy/free status sharing as an all-or-nothing, calendar-level setting. There is no way to mark individual events as "free" or "busy" on a per-event basis — a feature that exists in Google Calendar, Outlook, and most major calendar applications.

This limitation creates a significant functional gap in Proton Calendar's appointment scheduling feature.

    The Problem:
When a user creates a public booking page, Proton Calendar determines available slots based on whether any event exists on the calendar at a given time. Without per-event free/busy control, this leads to inaccurate availability representation:

    Scenario 1 — Over-blocking: A user…

  16. Better UX for iPadOS Proton Mail app (split‑view layout)

Proton Mail’s iPadOS app should adopt an adaptive split‑view layout that takes advantage of the device’s wider screen: a fixed‑width left column for folders and the message list, a flexible central pane that previews the selected email, and an optional right pane for contextual content such as thread history or attachment previews. This layout mirrors the familiar two‑column designs of Apple Mail and Outlook, reduces vertical scrolling.

By implementing responsive spacing, larger typography, and split‑view states, the app will feel more native on iPad (currently it just feels like using a big iPhone app on the iPad screen, improve workflow…

  17. Route calendar invitations to the calendar associated with the recipient address

Route calendar invitations to the calendar associated with the recipient address
Currently, all incoming calendar invitations are added to the default calendar, regardless of which email address they were sent to.
Requested behaviour: Allow users to configure, per email address, which calendar should receive invitations sent to that address. This setting should live at the mailbox/identity level (e.g. in account settings under each address).
Use case: A user with a personal address (e.g. user@proton.me) and a custom-domain business address maintains separate personal and work calendars. Invitations sent to the personal address should land in the personal calendar; invitations sent…

  18. Calendar: "Disable" instead of cancelling an event

Currently, the user is only able to delete an event in case it is cancelled. In such a case, the information about the canceled event is permanently lost.

Instead, I as a user would like to have an option to cancel or disable an event, but to keep in my calendar marked for instance by a strikethrough label. The disabled event might be deleted later.

Thus, the canceled event may remember the user of any further or future action or task.

  19. Shared booking pages between users in an org

We need an ability for people to book meetings with multiple of our team-mates at once, rather than just one at a time. This requires taking into account both calendars/schedules and available times. This is crucial for being able to migrate away from Calendly + GSuite.

  20. Allow inbox resizing of columns in ROW Layout for PC/Web app (from & subject)

Allow inbox resizing of columns in ROW Layout (from & subject)

When not using in full screen, the From column get narrow and culls a lot of the info while in full screen, it will still not expand enough to show the entire length of some From information while the Subject column has tons of empty space to spare
