1. Global busy calendar link

   Proton Calendar already allows you to mark many calendars as contributing their events to the user's busy time. Unfortunately, this is only visible within the Proton organization and there is no easy way to show people outside of proton whether you are busy or not.

   Proton Calendar should add an ICS link that can be shared in order for others to subscribe to your availability. The busy link can be passed on to colleagues or appointment software such as cal.com. The ICS file combines busy times from ALL calendars that the user has marked as showing themselves as busy.

   Alternatives considered:
   It is possible to share existing Proton calendars with a limited-access ICS link, but:
   1. this is a per-calendar thing and not a user-busy-time which combines information from all busy sources; thus requiring the audience to possibly need to subscribe to many of your busy links, thus leaking information on the different context of separate busy times.
   2. it is not currently possible to share a limited-access ICS link for proton calendar subscriptions; those would need to be shared elsewise.
   3. there may be issues with Proton's current ICS links in that they are read-only and may require manual updating. I am not sure on the details, but note the following message on cal.com:

   [Do not write to the ICS feed] If your ICS link is read-only (e.g., Proton Calendar), check the box above to avoid errors. You'll also need to manually update your calendar for changes.

2. Allow for more flexible data entry for calendar event start/end time

   It would be helpful if the selection fields for calendar event start times could match a wider range of text input to avoid excessive mouse clicks. At present, typing in the fields will automatically select one of the pre-set options in the list (i.e., "12:00 AM", "12:30 AM", and so on) based on an exact match of the text string. While this does allow for somewhat rapid selection in limited cases, i.e., for events starting at midnight and on the hour from 2 am to 9 am (allowing typing a single digit and then it autoselects), but then further selection must be entered precisely in the format HH:MM and then either "AM" or "PM" typed; using the up/down arrow keys is helpful but if it's an afternoon/evening event it pretty much requires the use of the mouse to be efficient. It would be preferable to allow for smarter detection of keyboard entries, for example ones omitting the colon (e.g., 800 AM), without a space (e.g., 1030 PM), based on a 24-hour clock (e.g., 2145), and so on. 3. Text formatting for Android App (Bullets, Bold/Underline/Italics, etc)

   ProtonMail on Android desperately NEEDS text formatting.

   It's actually unbelievable this isn't already a feature for a paid service. I don't know of any other prominent email provider that doesn't have formatting as a feature. This is a very basic feature for an email service, I hate that I have to draft emails in a separate app and then paste them into Proton. It's also frustrating knowing that the web browser version and Proton Drive documents apps have formatting, but the email app does not.

   Very disappointed in this and the lack of any communication from Proton showing they are working on this. I don't want to go back to GMail but this almost makes me want to.

5. Resize attached images

   We can currently change the display size of inline images but the file size remains the same. We don't always need send the highest resolution - in gmail you can choose small/medium/large/original and the resolution and file size are adjusted accordingly. Presumably this would be an advantage to proton also, as it would save on disc space.

6. Auto-Reply for Individual Addresses

   Proton Mail currently only supports a single global auto-reply. Users with multiple addresses or aliases have no way to set individual auto-responses per address.

   Proposed improvement: Allow users to configure auto-reply settings independently for each email address/alias on their account.

   Each address should have its own:

   Custom message text — so replies match the context of that address (e.g. professional tone for a work address, casual for personal)
   Schedule (date range) — to enable auto-replies only during specific periods, independently per address
   Sender filter — choose whether all senders or only known contacts trigger the auto-reply
   On/off toggle — quickly enable or disable the auto-reply per address without deleting the configuration
   Why this matters: Many Proton Mail users rely on multiple addresses to separate different areas of their life (work, personal, projects, volunteering, etc.). A global auto-reply doesn't reflect this — it either leaks context across addresses or forces users to choose which address gets an auto-reply. Per-address control would make Proton Mail's auto-reply feature truly usable for multi-address setups.

7. Standalone app for Proton Calendar on macOS

   It would be nice to have a standalone app for Proton Calendar on macOS, similar to Apple's Calendar. It would also be good to have a widget similar to Apple's Calendar widget where you can get a glance of the month you are in. With this way you don't have to open the app. I currently use the Apple's Calendar but if I had a standalone app for Proton Calendar on macOS, I would have used it.

8. Move or Archive conversation as a whole via keyboard shortcut

   MAC desktop App for proton mail version 1.12.1

   Current behaviour
   When a conversation is open pressing the keyboard shortcut 'A' archives a single message from that conversation.
   When a conversation is open pressing the toolbar archive button archives the entire conversation.
   The tooltip on the toolbar archive button shows the Letter A as the shortcut.

   Desired functionality
   Make a clear distinction between the two functions of archiving an entire conversation vs a single message.

   Suggested solution
   Add SHIFT-A as a shortcut to archive entire conversation.

9. Show number of unread mails on top level folder

   I am filtering a lot of my incoming e-mail into (sub)folders. The number of unread mails are displayed in the folder the mail was moved into. My folders are nested (2 or 3 levels deep) into a top level folder. I mostly have a collapsed view of the top level folders. In that case I would like to see if there are unread mails in the collapsed folders.

10. Add labels to Calendar Events

    We have the chance to add tags or labels to emails in Proton Mail. I would like to use the same/new labels in Proton Calendar to be able to search emails and events for a self created label.
    This would make dealing with projects much easier.

13. Add Sender to Existing Filter

    I like to use my filters for categories of senders, not just individual filters for every sender. It would be nice if we can click the "Filter" button and choose the option to append the selected email's sender or Subject etc. to an existing filter.

    For example, I like to put all my emails related to airline points in the same folder. Having 5 filters for different airlines makes my filter list cumbersome to go through, so I combine them into one filter. If I have an existing filter that is already moving New Zealand Air emails to my Points folder, and I sign up with Qantas, then in order to add Qantas to the same filter, I currently have to manually copy the email address, open the settings, go to the filters' tab, find the filter, AND THEN finally I can click edit and paste the email address as an additional condition.

    It'd be nice to not have to do that, especially if I'm doing an inbox organization project and have to repeat that process multiple times OR I have to create several filters and then deal with a secondary project of cleaning them up later.

14. reconcile differences between proton contacts and google contacts

    I have used the import feature to bring contacts from google contacts into proton contacts. I still need google contacts for phone calls, however. The issue is that when a contact changes, I have to update both locations.

    I'd like to suggest adding a reconcile differences feature that could compare the 2 contact lists, and allow the user to merge/edit differences.

15. Import PGP keys of contacts from public key servers

    While we can import other people's public keys manually, it would be much less hassle to just import them from public key servers if they have a key listed in one. Just searching them for the mail address shouldn't be hard to implement, and from that point on it'd be the same as if the key was attached to the mail (asking wether the key should be trusted, then import)

16. Improve Default Address Handling for Forwarded/BCC Emails

    Currently, the "Default Address (Custom Domain)" works only when emails are sent directly to it or to linked catch-all addresses. If the domain's MX does not point to Proton (e.g., it points to a forwarding service), Proton uses the actual recipient address (usually @proton.me) instead of my Default (Custom Domain) address when replying.
    Note: In this scenario, it does not work even if the Custom Domain address is already set as the Default.

    Example: domain.com points its MX to a mailing list, which then forwards emails to my @proton.me and @gmail.com mailboxes. When a sender emails to @domain.com and the message is forwarded to my @proton.me address, I can't automatically reply using my Default Address (@domain.com). I must manually switch the From address from @proton.me to @domain.com.

    I suggest adding checks for forwarded and BCC emails (i.e., in scenarios where "Header To ≠ RCPT TO"):

    1. If "Header To ≠ RCPT TO", check whether the Header To address matches the user's Default Address.

    2. If yes, use the Default Address when replying; otherwise, follow the existing Reply logic.

    This ensures that replies consistently use the user's Default (Custom Domain) Address even for forwarded and BCC emails.

17. Proton Mail row view: preview pane, and default goes to next message

    When viewing emails with row view, I have two suggestions
    - It would be useful to have a preview pane in row view mode.
    - After processing an email the window goes back to the main page, so I need to click on the next message. It would be better if by default the next message was displayed instead, or at least to have an option to choose

    could we have a way to follow thread that makes the multi-persons conversation obvious with some indentation? I found the present all in the same group confusing. I had to revert back to Thunderbird to have a clear idea of who answered to whom.

    Microsoft's Outlook email app has a feature called "Sweep," which allows one to highlight an email, and then take action on and set up a rule for all emails from that sender.

    Options include:

    Move all messages from the Inbox folder
    Move all messages from the Inbox folder and any future messages
    Always keep the latest message and move the rest from the inbox folder
    Always move messages older than ten days from the inbox folder

    The default destination is "Deleted Items." Other options include:
    Junk Email
    Inbox
    Archive
    or any other folder the user chooses or creates.

    It is very helpful for keeping one's inbox tidy, and could possibly ease the storage requirements on the server. It greatly simplifies the task of deleting an entire class of emails.

    While I appreciate Proton not wanting to overcomplicate its products, it is possible that the overhead implementing it would entail might be obviated by the savings in storage.
