Sync contacts, calendars, and notes with native mobile apps
To sync with your cell phone and email - iphone calendar, contacts, and notes.

ProtonMail offers encrypted contacts for both web and mobile applications (https://protonmail.com/blog/encrypted-contacts-manager/). Calendar and note functionality will be released in the future.

I am a Plus user and very much like ProtonMail, however, not being able to sync contacts on an iPhone is an issue. I cannot tell who is iMessaging/SMSing/phoning me without a secondary contact list (either locally on the phone or using google/ms/yahoo/icloud/etc.). It appears I can make a call from the ProtonMail app, but cannot send a message. The easiest solution is just to have ProtonMail sync contacts to use the native apps. Believe this is related to:

Maybe you cannot do so because of some security/encryption issues, if that is the case let please let us know. Can you please provide a info, timeline, and a roadmap regarding contact sync with phones. We are well passed two years since this was "Started". Without phone integration it is mess to handle contacts.

I am a Pro user, and I am quite happy with Protonmail, even though I notice that the support for Linux is not as strong as for Mac or Windows (why?). More specifically, are you planning to implement calendar sync with email clients like Thunderbird for Linux? I use Thunderbird through Bridge, and it work great. However, migrating to a new email service and having to keep my calendar at Google does not make much sense.

How much of a donation would I need to make to get this one live straightaway? This is a must for me to bring my organizations over from another platform.

Professional subscription here ; I would like to be able to add an event to my ProtonCalendar when I receive invites with `calendar.ics` file attached. Thx for your work !

I'm a Visionary-level subscriber and very happy with the service. Thank you! That said, the inability to send calendar invitations, whether via web or via mail client + Bridge, is a significant challenge.
I went all-in with Protonmail for both my personal and business email accounts. With the latter, I'm involved with a lot of meetings and not being able to schedule directly is very problematic. The only (partial) workaround I've come up with is exporting a meeting from Outlook to ics file and then attaching the file to an email. This attaches the event but it does not come through as a standard calendar invite.
I would *really* like to keep my accounts with Protonmail but will need to explore other options for my business accounts if this feature doesn't land soon. Any information/timeline/roadmap information you could provide would be much appreciated,
Thanks again!

The current beta version of the calendar looks great!
Will you be able to import events from other calendar providers (e.g. Google or iCloud)?
Will there be a separate calendar app or a calendar featutre integrated into the current ProtonMail app?
It would also be nice to have multiple emails assigned to calendars, i.e. if you have multiple domains listed to your account and multiple email addresses for a domain (or just different email addresses from different domains) that you want to share the same calendar, you could add both of them to the calendar. Currently it seems like you can create one calendar per email address, but can't share calendars between email addresses listed.

I purchased ProtonMail Plus for the calendar feature. How do you access the calendar?

Being able to sync/access calendar via Calendar.app on my computer would be amazing, as that's where all my other calendars are. Also, need the ability to send event invites to other people/add attendees for meetings.

Hello, i've just loaded the Protonmail beta v4. This is a very nice version and I can't wait using the new calendar feature.
About UX, I would however suggest to let the icons to access Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Storage capacity (and future other features) up-right, instead of the new left side, as it uses space for quite nothing. It would be better to improve the up-right bar without text, only icons, and put everything there. Thank you. -

If you could add a new calendar using a URL link and there was a calendar mobile app, then I would get rid of google calendar

Requested Calendar features - I would ditch Google Calendar in a heartbeat if these were built into the new Proton Calendar:
* Email notifications for calendar events
* 'Persistent' notifications for calendar events on my Android device - both audible and with pop-ups that need to be acknowledged by me, same as Google Calendar does
* Shared calendars, same as GoogleThese are core features I rely on daily within Google Calendar and though I've been waiting on pins and needles for Proton's calendar, I can't jump into Proton Calendar until these features are present.

I see you are improving a lot contacts (previously it was useless) and calendar (although IMHO is currently almost useless without recurring and invites, ability to create new calendars, subscription...) Most of the features that are lacking have been already mentioned, so I will not repeat myself here.
There is a feature that I have not seen asked and I find it crucial: I mantain my own addressbook and calendars using owncloud, and I would love to sync them with protonmail. I acknowledge that I might lose encrypted features, but it is a reasonable tradeoff if I want to own my data without vendor lock-in and abiility to use them from and where I want to.
