Add instructions for adding PGP Keys to DNS Records
It would be nice if Proton added instructions somewhere for how to add your PGP key that it generates to your DNS records, and if it added an automated way to verify that the entry was added correctly. I see on Wikipedia that there is an OPENPGPKEY DNS record type (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_DNS_record_types). If I go to https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc7929, I see instructions for how to format this record. It appears that for the email address example they give (hugh@example.com), then the entry key is the SHA-256 hash of "hugh" followed by ._openpgpkey.example.com. The type is "OPENPGPKEY", and the value is the public key. However, I am unsure if the public key is supposed to be added to the record with the opening and closing comments (-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- and -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----) or if these are supposed to be removed, and I am also not sure if the newline characters should be included in the value or if they should be stripped out of the public key first. It would be nice if Proton just displayed the record and corresponding instructions for the user as it does with DKIM, DMARC, etc. Additionally, I think there might be multiple conflicting standards proposals for this record format, so it would be neat if Proton included all of the current dominating ones.

Improve views and format with save to pdf preview and print preview
Currently Print preview and save to pdf preview is buggy. It does not showing all of the email, borders, and pictures. The body is missing sometimes and the letters or pictures are cut off. The paper is saved as a pdf and printed incorrectly. The only work around is to export emails as a .eml. Open in other application like Microsoft outlook so it can print correctly.
It is really time consuming if when you have to do research or gather information for a lawyer and you are exporting one by one hundreds of emails.

Black mouse pointer over mail text editor
When composing an email in "Normal" mode it would be very helpful if the mouse pointer is black when hovering over the text editor. Now it is a white pointer over a white field, and therefor either invisible or very hard to see and place over text. This would do much for the usability of the mail editor.

Customizable Android notification actions
There are currently three actions on the notification "Archive", "Trash" and "Mark Read". It would be great to be able to customize those such as we already can with the swipe actions.
I for one would never have mark read and archive there, but would add snooze and spam.

Allow undo on android notification quick action
Whenever seeing a notification you have three options "Archive", "Trash" and "Mark read". Clicking any of them will perform the action immediately, but very often I click "Archive" instead of "Trash" (muscle memory from Gmail listing delete as the first option) and it would be nice to undo on the same spot without having to open the app. Other mail apps like the aforementioned gmail allow undoing.

Overhaul of folders and unread email identification
I know there are similar requests in this vain, but I wanted to consolidate ways to deal with the "problem" here.
With the emphasis on aliases and the use of SimpleLogin (or similar) within Proton Mail ("PM"), for those of us that are (to a fault) uber-organized, the sidebar has become a huge list of folders to help manage all the emails from all the aliases. Filters place emails directly into the appropriate folders to be dealt with. In an overkill of organization, subfolders are used as well.
Example: a master folder might be "Travel" and general travel-related emails end up in there. For specific trips, however, the use of aliases might be used and subfolders are created within "Travel," like "Japan," "Germany," "Cruise 2026," "United," "Delta," etc. It is more important than ever to be able to quickly identify where there are unread emails to deal with. The following are suggestions taken from a couple of email client competitors.
Currently PM acts like Outlook for Mac, where if there is an unread count in subfolders and the primary folder is expanded, the count is seen. However, to keep things neat, if the folder is collapsed, there is no indication of unread email in the subfolders. Fastmail attempts to address this by making the collapsed folder bold, indicating that at least one subfolder has an unread. They claim they don't want to put a number next to it because it would be confusing.
Thunderbird was able to address the "confusion" by showing a total count of all emails unread in the primary and subfolders when collapsed as a "hallow" number. Then when the folder is expanded, the number next to the primary folder is solid and represents the unread in the primary, and all the subfolders show their respective unread counts. That is one very appealing option.
Something that Fastmail did do right, which in my work flow is even better, is to provide the ability to HIDE a folder in the sidebar if it doesn't have any unread emails. (You can also hide it if it's empty, if you're the type to delete/move an email out of a folder once dealt with. Personally I keep all my emails forever so my great-great-grandchildren have something to remember me by.) You still have the ability to go to the hidden folder by clicking on a button to reveal all the folders, either the "search" for iOS apps, or the View/Goto... option on the desktop. The result is a clean sidebar that only shows folders when it gets an email to deal with. As soon as it's read, the folder goes back into hiding.
If Proton Mail is asking to become the default email application, hopefully on the plan is a major version update to include many of the competitive features of other clients. (Funny saying "competitive" because clearly, unless you're Microsoft and you want to inshitify your products and use your customer's data, I'm sure there is zero profit margin in providing a "state-of-the-art" email client. In the long run, however, it would only help drive traffic towards the paid versions of the Proton packages. I'm sure the Proton developers are pedaling as fast as they can, so I sympathize with the challenges. Maybe the Swiss can reach out to the Aussies and see if there's some I/F code sharing possibilities...)
Thank you for your consideration.

Improve Calendar UI for more transparency
I migrated my business from M365 to Proton Business. Unfortunately, it’s not really possible to use the calendar for professional work. It would be helpful if you could change the resolution of the calendar view (e.g., hours, 30 minutes, 15 minutes). This would allow you to properly display and read appointments that last only 30 minutes.

Synchronise Proton contacts with mobile phone contacts
I think it would be really useful if you could synchronise Proton contacts from all Proton apps with the contacts on your mobile phone. And in both directions: so that I have all the contacts from my mobile phone on Proton, and all the contacts from Proton on my mobile phone. That way, I wouldn’t have to back up my contacts to iCloud, for example, and could back them up securely in Proton. But at the same time, I’d still have the contacts stored locally on my mobile phone so that I could easily use them for all messaging apps and the like.

„Reminder“ function in Proton Calendar
I think it would be really useful if I could set a one-off event in Proton Calendar. Apple Calendar calls this a ‘reminder’. It’s very handy if you’re meeting someone at a specific time, need to be somewhere at that time, or simply want to be reminded.

Do Not Delete Emails to Myself When Deleted from Sent and Trash
When I send an email to myself, my Proton account email, I have two copies of the message, one in Sent and one in Inbox, when I try to cleanup my Sent folder and delete the message from that folder, it moves it to Trash and the message in my Inbox is still there, but when I empty Trash, the message is also removed from my Inbox which should not happen.

Ability to change calendar used for events in mails
When I receive an event invite through email, I only have the option to add it to my main calendar. This is really unhelpful, as I want to keep the events of my different email addresses separated into different calendars.
I even created a new calendar and set one of the addresses as the default, but an event sent to that address still won't end up in that calendar.I generally like the "one inbox for everything" model of Proton Mail, but if that means that we lose functionality like this or the general ability to keep things separated, it's a major hindrance.
So either allow me to select a calendar in the email event or at least make it so the default email of a calendar is respected.

A PLUS+ next to the date on calendar to add new event.
When viewing the Calendar in month mode, I find that a there a number of appts on the day, which is not always visible, but adding another evening to the day on "month view" leaves little space with the cursor to add an event at the bottome of day.
I know that i can just go into day mode and add it, but for me personally having a PLUS + next to the number (day) would be faster and more efficient. Also if you were able to add your location and have the weather temp/sun or rain etc on the day in the background would be nice.

Windows notification click switches folder to Inbox instead of keeping current folder
In the Windows app, when a folder like All Mail is open and a new email notification appears, clicking the Windows notification opens the email but also switches the view to the Inbox. This disrupts workflow when working inside All Mail, where the same email is already visible.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the app on Windows
- Navigate to the All Mail folder
- Receive a new email
- Click the Windows notification for that email
Expected Behavior
The email opens in the reading pane without changing the currently open folder (stay in All Mail).Actual Behavior
The app switches the view to the Inbox and opens the email there.Notes
The logic of switching to the folder containing the email makes sense in general, but All Mail already includes the email. Excluding All Mail from this behavior would preserve context and avoid resetting the working state. In the Windows app, when a folder like All Mail is open and a new email notification appears, clicking the Windows notification opens the email but also switches the view to the Inbox. Swipe to change day / week / month in app
Navigating in Proton Calendar would be so much easier and faster if we could simply swipe to the next month (day/week) in the app.

Improve UI/UX for replying to emails
I'm not sure about anyone else but it's quite frustrating that the interface for writing a reply to an email covers up the email you are trying to reply to.
Would it not be better to follow the UI of Google Mail where you can reply in a box under the actual email you're replying to instead of having this floating window stuck to the bottom of the page?

Add a specific download folder for attachments in the settings, along with restriction (e.g., NAS, Proton Drive, Sandbox)
Currently, Proton Mail doesn't allow users to define a specific download folder for attachments, nor to apply restrictions to them.
However, email remains the primary vector for phishing and malware, with increasingly sophisticated attacks (social engineering, credible content, AI).
The ability to force attachments to be downloaded to a dedicated folder (local, NAS, sandbox, VM) would significantly reduce risks, removing the human element from security alone.
Such a feature would be particularly useful for advanced users, hybrid environments, or professional use cases, and would integrate seamlessly with the filters and aliases already present in Proton Mail.
This would further strengthen Proton's position as a security-oriented solution by default, not just for encryption.
In addition, Proton already provides Proton Drive, which would be a natural and highly valuable option as a default or selectable destination for attachments.

Sharing calendar with non proton users to show a webpage and not to download a .ics
Hey, is this the year 2010 ? Because when I share a calendar and it gives me a link, I'd expect that this links shows the Proton Calendar webapp with my calendar in it. And I can then say if this link is viewer or editor. I don't know, like Google Docs, Proton Docs, Proton Sheets and oh everyone ??
Seriously how is Proton still in the Stone Age where they thought it was an okay thing to have a share link that was a mere « download a .ics » link ??? That freaking baffles me. Proton, get your **** together. Sincerely.
Take the devs off of Lumo and crypto wallet for all I care, no one asked for those.

Add proper contact sync for iOS and android
Similar issue posted earlier but closed prematurely by Proton:
We need to be able to sync proton contacts with phone contacts on Android and iOS. I am unable to completely migrate from Gmail without this.
