Separate Proton Mail & Calendar from Uservoice
Separate Proton Mail & Calendar from Uservoice
User Voice currently groups Proton Mail and Proton Calendar orders as a single app...
However, I recommend separating both in UserVoice to better identify products and the quantity of requests per product.
As there are many who are already registered in a single TAG,
you can rename it to something like "Old Category" and create two new categories so that new requests meet the new criteria.63 votes -

Support Calendar via Bridge
Struggling with feature parity for Proton Mail/Calendar and have multiple other email accounts, so I'm still in Outlook.
However, the proton calendar doesn't correctly sync via Outlook/Bridge. So now I'm in Outlook for email and Proton Calendar. It appears some calendar events show up in each but not everything in either.79 votes -
Proper Calendar Event Invitations with Accept / Decline / Tentative
Summary /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Add full support for standard calendar event invitations so recipients receive actionable event requests (Accept / Decline / Tentative) instead of a passive .ics attachment.
Description /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
When adding participants to a Proton Calendar event, recipients currently receive an email containing an .ics file. However, this does not appear as a proper event invitation in many calendar clients and does not offer standard response options such as Accept, Decline, or Tentative.
As a result, the event is not treated as a true meeting request but rather as a file attachment, which significantly limits usability.
Problems / Impact /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
- No standardized RSVP workflow
- No visibility into participant responses
- Manual follow-up required
- Poor interoperability with common calendar systems
- Not suitable for business or professional use
- Creates the impression that the sender is using a non-standard or outdated solution
For business communication in particular, this is a serious limitation. It also affects private use, where users expect
basic RSVP functionality to “just work.”Business & Trust Impact /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Because invitations don’t behave like standard meeting requests, it unintentionally signals to recipients that the sender is not using a “normal” or widely adopted calendar system (e.g. Microsoft 365, Google Calendar). This can undermine professional credibility and confidence, even though the issue is purely technical.
Proposed Solution /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Implement full iCalendar (RFC 5545 / 5546) invitation support, including:
- Proper meeting request emails
- Accept / Decline / Tentative actions in recipients’ calendars
- Automatic response handling
- Organizer visibility of attendee status
- Updates and cancellations that sync correctlyExpected Outcome /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
- Invitations behave like standard calendar events across platforms
- Seamless interoperability with Outlook, Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, etc.
- Proton Calendar becomes viable for business and professional scheduling
Priority Justification /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Meeting invitations are a core calendar feature. Without proper RSVP handling, Proton Calendar cannot realistically replace mainstream calendar solutions for business or serious private use.Summary /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Make it obvious that you actually REPLY with your hide-my-email
can confirm after reading the replies here (https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail-calendar/suggestions/48146006-reply-to-emails-sent-with-hide-my-email-alias), that this actually is really working!
Choosing which email from your proton acc is REALLY misleading, hence I never dared to "test" this when doing an reply to a hide-my-email, so can only upvote the misleading visual that it seems that you send from your official proton email address. Even after sending a reply, it visually indicates that you sent it from your proton.me
The suggestion would be either display in FROM: the actual hide-my-email-address or if that is too complicated a "using your alias" would be also fine.
That would clear this up big time (as I up till now used the proton pass functionality to reply with the contact alias manually)

Show which folder an email is in
Currently a user, cannot identify where an email is positioned in the folder tree, like when the emails are liste after a "search" action: no info in the email-list, no info on the banner, no info on menus, ...
Instead this information is very important and should be clearly highlighted, perhaps with a pop-up.

keep emails as unread until you mark them?
Hi, can you please add an option to keep all emails as "unread" even after clicking them and have the option to mark them as Read when you want? This is one of the best features of outlook and gmail and it allows users to treat their emails as a "to-do" list. It saves a lot of time and helps keep inboxes organized and easily see what emails have been completed or "addressed" and which ones have not.

Proper support for Format=flowed
Proton is particularly bad at supporting plain text email. There’s no support for format=flowed in the interface but, even worse : any mail sent through Proton SMTP will see its format=flowed header removed.
This was a bug highly discussed in the Bridge Github ticketing system before it was sent offline.
Please allow people to use Proton and the Bridge through plaintext (Mutt, Emacs, Alpine are widely used amongst the privacy geeks crowd)

Booking Page - Add option to Approve booking
I would like to have an option to approve a booking before it is considered accepted. Right now it is automatically accepted. What I would like an option to do, is set it up so that once someone book a slot, it will be marked as unavailable in the front end, bt in the email to the custommer it is made clear that the booking is not yet accepted, but pending approval.
Once I have look at it, i can approve it and it will automatically let the customer know its all good and turn it into an accepted booking, Or i might need more information and contactem for more information first.

Calendar Booking Page: Treat all-day appointments as unavailable
Currently, only regular appointments are marked as unavailable on booking pages. However, I would also like to see full-day appointments marked as unavailable in my booking page - for example, for vacations or other absences.

AI features like writing assistant should be opt-in, not opt-out
I don't use AI and I turn it off or hide it when possible. I switched to Proton in part to avoid how much other providers try to stuff it into everything. And yet I have to randomly find a "writing assistant" in my mail settings - and switched on by default, no prompt to opt-in or agree to whatever new terms and conditions this should require.

Proton Calendar: subscribe to private external calendar
At the moment, it is only possible to subscribe to public external calendars in Proton Calendar.
I would appreciate an option to subscribe to private calendars (served by Caldav and protected by username/password).
Thank you for your consideration.44 votes -

Allow for seperate mailboxes within the same account
Currently some account tiers allow you to have multiple email addresses (e.g. Unlimited allows 15 email addresses). However, all the emails share the same mailbox. It would be nice if we can have the ability to assign email addresses to separate mailboxes (even if it's for an additional fee).

Expand the limit on levels of sub-folders within ProtonMail
The current implementation of folders in Proton Mail allows for top-level folders and two levels of sub-folders beneath these.
I can understand that allowing an unlimited level may not be practical, but an increse from 3 to 5 levels would make it much more useful for sorting.

Appointment Scheduling in Proton Calendar – Missing Key Features Compared to Calendly
The current appointment scheduling feature in Proton Calendar is not yet a full replacement for tools like Calendly or TidyCal. Several important functionalities are missing.
- Limited Booking Form Fields
Currently, the booking form only includes:
Name
Email addressMissing features:
Address details (street, city, postal code)
Phone number
Booking subject (ideally with predefined selectable options)
Free text field for additional informationThese fields are essential for collecting relevant client information before appointments.
- Display of Organizer Email Address
The booking page automatically displays the organizer’s Proton email address.
Issue:
I use a custom domain email for my practice.
My private Proton email address should not be visible.Suggested improvements:
Allow users to choose which email address is displayed
Option to hide the email address completely- Missing Website Integration Options
Currently, only a booking link is available.
Missing feature:
Embed code for integrating the booking page directly into websites
ConclusionWhile the feature is a good start, it lacks several important capabilities that tools like Calendly or TidyCal already provide. Enhancing these areas would significantly improve usability and make Proton Calendar a more complete solution.
