Similar to Microsoft outlook on desktop, have your proton mail account, then the ability to add other emails (eg gmail, outlook, etc) so you can access all your emails in the same place

When using multiple Proton email accounts, it would be great to have the option to view all emails in a unified inbox within the ProtonMail app, similar to how it works in Apple's Mail app on iPhone. This way, there would be no need to switch between accounts to check for new emails.

It's time for me to go back to using Thunderbird and call my evaluation of Proton Mail clients (Desktop, Phone App, Web App) complete. Thunderbird allows me to use ALL of my email accounts from one program (Desktop program or Phone app) including Proton via Proton Mail Bridge. When convenient, I can still use the Proton clients when I want to. All in all, it just doesn't make sense for me to waste time using company-specific clients, be it Proton, Microsoft, Comcast, etc. I'll use the management features of Proton mail, such as message filtering along with TBird for daily common emailing tasks--or perhaps I'll use the TBird filtering (to be decided).

Would like to have two instances of mail as well. Business and private.

How odd: Proton combined my post (the more general idea below rather than the Mail-specific idea) into this one instead of the "proper" vice-versa combination. Obviously, allowing multiple instances applies to other Proton apps (Pass, e.g.) and not only Mail.

Currently, the Proton desktop apps do not allow multiple instances to be run, but rather, require switching accounts. I use my Duo account to work simultaneously with personal and business mail, passwords, drive, etc., while using one Duo account for personal and the other for business. Having to switch accounts all the time is tedious.

This is one of the most irritating things for me. At least for web I can just save shortcuts to the different inboxes and there is a "switch to" function directly on the top right account menu. The desktop app still has the "switch or add account" and takes a long time top load the other inbox. I feel like the web is faster than the desktop at this point.

No-one else interested in this? This keeps me from using the desktop app.

I suggest enabling the ability to have multiple independent Proton Mail accounts open simultaneously in the same desktop app, accessible via tabs or a quick switch feature. This would streamline workflows for users managing multiple accounts.

It would be great to be able to add other email accounts to the client and have a view all at once or view by mailbox with a quick and easy selector like mailbird or thunderbird. Preferably for any email account, not just protonmail. at the moment Im going to need to use protonbridge as I cant add my other emails (that cant be forwarded for reasons such as charity emails or work emails).

I have several @proton mail and calendar accounts. It is too cumbersome to change them in the desktop app for MacOS. They should all be listed in the main pane.

I'd love to be able to run multiple instances of the Proton desktop app, so I can have my calendar and my mail open at the same time and alt-tab between them. Having to navigate from calendar to mail is frustrating when making appointments via email.

I was disappointed with the multiple email tabs deployment in the last couple of days. I know this was an attempt to switch like on the web version. However, the web version not only allows other tabs, but each tab can be with another Proton account. I switched to MS/Outlook using the bridge as I have multiple clients where they utilize Office365. I realize that a first cut of the "multiple accounts" would only support Proton accounts, but it would be nice to eventually include other "server" based accounts like Office365.
