Automatically detect language for spell check
I write emails using both English and French. My browser has several dictionaries installed, but Proton Mail spell checker doesn't seem to know the difference.
What would be neat is if Proton Mail could recognise the typed language (as for instance MS Outlook does), and do spell check accordingly.

Filter Condition Based on Time
Ability to make the filter condition based on time the email has existed. I want to automatically move emails to my junk after they've been in my inbox for more than 1 year.

Adjusting the family plan for fewer/more people
I want to move the email box with custom domain. I'm wondering why the family package ($287.88/year) is for as many as 6 users and it's not customisable. Business package for 2 users ($167.76/year) seems to be the most optimal form.
I don't need other services, just email. For example, "Family Mail Only" like Mail Plus but for 2-3 users.

Select all on Android
For the Android app: Add a check box to mark all e-mails at once. I want to have this ability for all folders within the ProtonMail Android app. This is to speed up the process of clearing the mailboxes.
Best regards

Option to Control Alias Access for Enhanced Security
Hi team,
I would like to request the addition of a feature in ProtonMail that allows users to disable alias logins or restrict login access to specific aliases.
Currently, aliases can use the same password for login, which raises security concerns as it feels like having multiple back doors that could be exploited if an attacker gains access.
Implementing a way to manage alias login permissions or disabling them entirely would enhance security and align with best practices for credential management.
Thank you for considering this feature request.

Organization Filters - Top-level Domain
Currently, we have implemented spam, block, and allow lists to filter registered domains. However, we are unable to add top-level domains to these lists. As a cybersecurity professional, I am fully aware of the importance of preventing phishing attacks and recognize that numerous top-level domains are commonly exploited for malicious purposes.
Cloudflare published a comprehensive article on this topic earlier this year.
https://blog.cloudflare.com/top-level-domains-email-phishing-threats/My proposal suggests that we also permit only the top-level domain (TLD) to be added to spam, block, and allow lists.

Add a "forward email" option to filter actions
I've recently run into an issue where I need to have particular emails forwarded to my wife when they fall into my inbox, and they're time-sensitive. It'd be easier to have these emails just automatically forward to an email of my choosing.

Send Emails through Auto Forward Emails
I have a gmail account connected to my proton via auto forward, but I would like to send emails and reply to emails straight from proton with the gmail account's email address.

Add a Proton Two-Step Authenticator
We really need a Proton 2-step authenticator. It's just really annoying to have to log into a diff platform to do this (like authy, etc). It's much nicer when everything is centralized and I don't have to open a million apps to do things. Thanks.

Folder Management and Rules can be improved
Foldermanagement, Rules and Categories can be improved.
I'm setting up my Mail on Smartphone and MAC and im wondering why it's not possible to automatically move Mails to folders on the phone in the mobile app. Aswell for every mail that i set automatically move it creates a new rule and when you change something in the rules you get a terrible mess. It would be nice if that can be reviewed and overworked. Aswell Folder Movement is a terrible experience because you can not adjust where your folders are visible and in the settings the folders are popped up so you can hardly move them. Last comment i enjoy using Protonmail so far, but a third option would also be great if you can create auto delete also for folder content. I would consider myself a heavy Mail User and beeing always curious how to get a clean experience with a mostly empty inbox lifestyleFoldermanagement, Rules and Categories can be improved.

Allow more than one free account in the app when signed in with a paid account
In the Protonmail mobile app, you can log in with multiple accounts at the same one, but only one of these accounts is allowed to be on the free plan, even if you have another paid account.
I understand the restriction when using only free accounts, but I already pay for my main account. I need to monitor two mailboxes of groups/organizations that I'm in. Both of them are on the free plan, which means I have to choose which one I add even though I pay for my main account.41 votes -
Edit as new
I recommend having the 'Edit a Message as New' function in Webmail, to be able to choose and edit any email as if it were a template or draft message. Thunderbird and Zoho Webmail have this useful feature.

Allow Replies to Forwarded Gmail Emails to Use Original Sender’s Address
Similar to how SimipleLogin already works, it would be great if Proton Mail offered the option to reply to emails forwarded from Gmail (or other email services) while using the original Gmail address as the sender’s address in the reply. This feature would be especially valuable for users transitioning to Proton Mail who still need to manage communications through their existing Gmail account. By allowing replies to maintain the original Gmail address, Proton Mail would help ensure a seamless transition, preserving consistency and preventing confusion among recipients who may not yet be familiar with the new Proton Mail address.

Provide more control over alias generation
Email aliases are automatically generated using a pattern like (title)(random number).(random word)(random number)@passinbox.com. The only part of this that the user controls is the title.
If users are not allowed to directly choose aliases, then there should at least be an easy way (like a button) to generate a new random alias. Currently you must close the create dialog and reopen it to get a different alias. The problem is that the random words often have negative connotations, which makes the aliases unacceptable for things like resumes.

Touch ID for Mac App
I'd like to see two interrelated features for the Mac app. First, a timed sign-out on the app. User could set a limit for idle time, after which the app automatically signs out. Along with that, the app should use Touch ID for sign-in as a convenience and security feature.

Store recovery email in a hashed format
Proton Mail stores recovery mail in a plain text format. Many legal requests access the recovery mail. Since privacy is by default, I don't think Proton should know my alternate email address. Recovery emails should be hashed -exactly passwords are-.
