User Defined Event Type
One could set an event type i.e.: gym session, romantic date, friend date, etc.
Then, set color scheme, time allotted, reminder schedule for each event typeWhen setting up a new event, a dropdown of user defined event types, click on event type and just change the date and title!
Seems simple, no?

only run filters against inbox
It is really a BAD, BAD idea to run filters against all messages. During the normal course of operation, a common thing to nappen is a receipt from newegg gets put into the ads folder.... I manually move it to my receipts folder.
Now, when you run filters against all messages - it moves it from the receipts folder back to the ads folder, which really destroyed my organization. I really only want the inbox sorted when I run a filter against "all messages" (for instance, I add a new store to my sorting that I hadn't filtered on before).
An alternative would be to flag a message as having been manually moved, and leave it alone, but I don't think that's really possible.....It is really a BAD, BAD idea to run filters against all messages. Improve contacts groups management
The overall experience on managing contacts on proton has become really bad.
You cannot create groups, meaning list of contacts, from csv, so if you make a contact list of 80 people for work, you have to add all them manually to a group. If you have multiple groups to create it quickly becomes a nightmare. If you send an email to a group, it does not save ?? So if you want to prove an email has been sent or reuse it, well you cannot, you either make screenshots or external records to proton, or you have nothing
.
I do not understant why business accounts have such limited options, but as someone on a visionnary account, I am thinking on leaving proton altogether because I no longer have the patience to do everything manually. Actually I have rarely create groups and used other platforms because of it.On top of that, managing the groups once it's created is really bad : it does not detect doubles, you cannot modify badly typed emails. There are no subgroups, and the contact window is extremely narrow instead of being a full page. It is neither accessible nor nice to use. Being stuck to do everything on a tiny portion of the screens make zero sense. And the worst part is that plenty of times, the tiny contacts button simply does not appear, and there are no other ways to open the tiny contact window. There a no links to contacts in the left panel or anywhere. In the mobile app it's completely at the bottom and limited. I do not understand.
So an email app makes it really difficult to reach and manages our contacts. I am starting to wonder what is the poin.. I just had a horrible time managing a group and I am weighting my options.
The contacts are so neglected that there are no "Proton Contacts" app.
Please consider changing the core of what is used in an emailing service.

Proton Mail: "Move To" improvement (1 click instead of 2 clicks?)
Hi!
I noticed that recently, Proton Mail has a slight change in the UI, meaning, when I click "Move To" to move an email to a folder, I now need to:
1st select the folder
2nd click the "Move" buttonAs an observation, I believe the way this was done before was way better: only click on the folder and the email was moved straight away. In case there will be a decision to revert to this simple straight forward way, I would again add, that the way the radio button worked before, required one to be very accurate and precise, if the radio button was not clicked, ie. the folder name was clicked, then nothing would happen (I believe the radio button and the folder name should both act as a button and if clicked, perform the required operation).
W.k.r.

Maintain checkbox selection, even when clicking into an email
I'm often going through emails to decide which I can delete. I'll have several emails already selected. If I click into one of the emails and then back out, all of my selections are gone. This has happened many times and is very frustrating.

Increase the cap on address deletions for paid users and display clear UI about cap limit
There is a very strict cap on how many and how often addresses can be deleted. As a Mail Plus customer, I get 10 addresses in total - which is a solid value - but I can apparently only delete one every year (?) or so. The actual cap limit is not published - the app simply fails with an error when try to delete a second address "too soon".
I understand why deleting addresses is strictly capped: to prevent abuse, and it also appears to be a technologically somewhat expensive, plus that address is now forever unavailable to anyone.
But it would be nice if the cap were just a tad more lenient. The reason is it turns out I need to change a few of the addresses over time for my uses, say: I need to delete 2 old ones and add 2 new ones when my life situation changes.
We can email product support and ask for 1-off deletions, but that is an annoyance (takes days). That also must cost Proton real money for human interaction/support.
So how about increasing the cap to 4 (5? 7?) per [time period], along with UI that lets us know how many deletions we have left and in what time period.
Summary:
Increase the limit on address deletions to some small number (4?) over some well-defined time period
Display UI with how many address deletions are left in our cap at any point in time.
Clearly display what the cap is (per year? per six months?). It is fine to live within a limit, and I understand why there must be limits on address deletions, but it would help to know what the limit and time period is.
Thanks so much for considering this request.

Improvements Needed: Email Subject Line and Font Size in ProtonMail
I would like to draw the PM designers' and developers attention to the fact that the current ProtonMail app email view displays the subject line in the middle of the screen instead of on the left side. Additionally, the font size is considerably large, with the subject line and sender information taking up almost half of the screen, which looks unappealing. I request the ProtonMail team to change this by reducing the font size and aligning the subject line to the left side. I believe these changes will save significant screen space and enhance the email view. Thanks.

Is it possible to Preview Excel contacts before converting to VCF?
Yes, there are ways to preview Excel contacts before creating VCF files. Tools like ToolsBaer Excel to vCard Converter make the process easier by displaying a complete preview of all contacts before conversion, ensuring accuracy, and showing all mistakes. This helps you to verify names, phone numbers, emails, and other details before converting Excel to VCF format. The technical tool works on all Windows versions, from 11 to 7. Also, supports all Excel and vCard versions like 2.1, 3.0, and 4.0. No need to learn technical knowledge for converting an Excel file to vCard format.

Automatically load remote content through Proton VPN
For the load remote content, why not have proton mail automatically load them through Proton VPN? This would be really useful and convenient instead of having to manually enable proton vpn on the browser if viewing through mail.proton.me, or system-wide vpn/split tunneling. apple mail does this for you

Multi-languages corrections and translations in Proton Mail
In a same session, I often write emails in 3 languages depending on my counterpart (English, French and German) but Proton Mail does not support orthographic verification in more than one language at a time.
I am Fluent in French and English but not in German.
I find it disturbing when I write an email in French and that the system is set up in English to see almost everything underscored in red.
I find having to write my emails in another app supporting multiple languages corrections time time-consuming and inconvenient.
I also find it time-consuming and inconvenient having to use an external translator when I receive or send an email in German.

Hide the folder "All mail"
For me the folder All mail isn't a great idea; for me is a distraction.
I prefer to hide this folder because for me isn't useful.
How do you think about?

Better handling for known-dangerous email sent to a compromised address
TLDR: Please give us a better option for handling email that is almost certainly dangerous, ie in my case email sent to an address that only receives dangerous email. Some suggested ideas at bottom.
I have a [service]@[myname].com email address, which I used many years ago to sign up for a service that is now defunct. It's one of many, many catch-all email addresses that I use on that custom domain.
Many years ago that email address was part of a hack/leak. I now regularly receive phishing email, or emails with surely-dangerous PDFs, to that address. No legitimate email will ever be sent to that address.
Unfortunately right now I only know of these options for handling these emails:
- Do nothing and the email lands in whatever folder alongside incoming non-dangerous emails
- Filter by TO address and send to trash or spam, where it sits among non-dangerous spam or emails I've deleted
- Filter by TO address and send to a custom folder "Phishing", where it is sequestered but still appears within my All Mail view
Here are a few ideas for how this might be done:
1) In Settings > Organizational Filters > Spam, block, and allow lists - enable blocking or Spam-marking emails by TO address, in addition to FROM address
2) In Settings > Filters - allow for filters that delete email without sending to Trash, which could be set to automatically delete any email for a given TO address
3) In Settings > Folders and Labels - allow for creating sub-folders of Trash and Spam, eg "Trash > Known Dangerous", which could serve to isolate known-dangerous emails from non-dangerous emailsTLDR: Please give us a better option for handling email that is almost certainly dangerous, ie in my case email sent to an address that only receives dangerous email. Dynamic / Preset‑Driven Layout for Proton Mail Desktop
Short Description
Allow users to control how the Proton Mail interface/layout adapts to different screen sizes, offering automatic, preset‑based, fixed, and power‑user‑customizable layout modes.Proposed Behavior / Modes
1. Automatic
The app detects the current viewport size and selects the most suitable layout on‑the‑fly (compact on narrow windows, spacious on wide ones).
2. Preset‑by‑Screen‑Size
Users create named presets (e.g., Laptop‑Compact, Monitor‑Spacious) that define panel visibility, widths, and other UI choices. The app automatically applies the appropriate preset whenever the detected screen width falls within the preset’s defined range.
3. Fixed (Static) Layout
A single layout is locked and never changes, regardless of window resizing or screen changes. [ we already ahve this ]
4. Power‑User Customizer
Advanced users can freely adjust the size and visibility of any UI section, save the configuration, and optionally bind it to a screen‑size tier or keep it as a permanent static view.Benefits / Use Cases
1. Predictable cross‑device experience
Users know exactly how Proton Mail will look on a laptop versus an external monitor without manual rearrangement.
2. Reduced friction
No need to repeatedly hide/show panels when docking or undocking; the appropriate preset is applied automatically.
3. Flexibility for all skill levels
Casual users can rely on the Automatic mode, while power users get granular control through the Customizer.
4. Improved productivity
Larger screens can display expanded message lists, preview panes, and additional controls, whereas smaller screens stay uncluttered and focused.Summary
Introduce pre-selectable layout modes, to give users explicit control over how Proton Mail adapts to varying screen real‑estate, enhancing usability across devices while preserving flexibility for advanced configurationsShort Description

Schedule an email to be deleted at a particular time/date
I'd like to be able to schedule when an email is moved to Trash, kind of like schedule send except for deleting instead. I already use the Self-destruct, however, it permanently deletes the email whereas I'd like the email to go to Trash, and the feature is not available on mobile yet.

Make it possible to use both simultaneously on desktop
It is absurd that you cant see the calendar and the mail at the same time. Means you have to open one or the other in the browser so the app is superfluous!!

If a user is using the Proton Mail PWA app on a mobile device, there is no need to show them ads for the Proton Mail mobile app
Currently, this ad is shown to the user, which is absurd, since they are already using the mobile app of this service.
