Emergency Export via Mail app
A feature to mass export or forward currently decrypted emails from within the Proton Mail app would be extremely valuable—especially in scenarios where a user anticipates losing access to their encryption keys.
There are real situations where a user is still logged into their account (and emails are actively decrypted in-session), but they no longer have access to the correct passphrase required to decrypt their stored data after a reset. Once the account is reset, those emails become permanently inaccessible.
Providing an option—particularly for paid users—to bulk export or forward all currently decrypted emails before initiating an account reset would act as a critical safeguard against irreversible data loss.
This would not weaken encryption, as the data is already decrypted within the active session. Instead, it would give users a final opportunity to preserve their data while they still have legitimate access.
Even a limited-time “pre-reset export” flow or warning prompt with export tools could significantly improve user trust and reduce catastrophic data loss scenarios.

Support iCalendar RFC 5545 Recurrence Properties
Currently, Calendar imports do not support "Events based on recurrence rules that are not supported by Proton Calendar". The current Calendar UI supports a very limited set of recurrence rules meaning imports are also limited. This significantly impacts the ability to create and/or import calendar events that use somewhat common recurrence rules not currently supported by Proton. In UserVoice, there are a number of suggestions to support various combinations of additional recurrence rules. My recommendation is to "consolidate" these into this (???) recommendation for supporting all recurrence rules defined in the iCalendar specification (RFC 5545) (see https://icalendar.org/iCalendar-RFC-5545/3-8-5-recurrence-component-properties.html).
This recommendation could be implemented in a phased approach where imports could be implemented first to provide the desired capabilities until the UI implementations for adding/editing events can be accomplished. For this to work, I know the Calendar display would need to be modified to display these imported recurrence rules. To minimize that effort, a human-friendly text representation could easily be generated from the recurrence rule for display in the calendar. (NOTE: See an implementation example in https://www.npmjs.com/package/rrule for the 'toText()' method.)
For the benefit of other users/voters, the recurrence properties specified in an iCalendar (RFC 5545) event include:
* Recurrence Rule (RRULE) - The recurrence rule is used in computing the recurrence set. The current set of Proton supported recurrence rules are included in RRULE. (See the RRULE Tool at https://icalendar.org/rrule-tool.html for the RRULE possibilities).
* Recurrence Date-Times (RDATE) - a list of specific date/date-times to include in the recurrence set.
* Exception Date-Times (EXDATE) - a list of specific date/date-times to exclude from the recurrence set.
Even the implementation of these recurrence properties could be implemented in a phased approach starting with the RRULE.Currently, Calendar imports do not support "Events based on recurrence rules that are not supported by Proton Calendar". Browser choice when opening email links
In the desktop Proton Mail application, when you click a link, a dialog shows the full URL and requests confirmation to open the link. This is a great feature!
Enhancement: Instead of just opening the link in the default browser, allow me to configure additional browsers. Offer a choice of what browser to open with the link.
Allow me to add browser configurations by choosing the application/executable or optionally entering a command line. For example, I could configure
firefox --private-windowas an option and multiplefirefox --profileoptions.This feature would allow me to open the link in the browser/profile that I think is best suited for the link. For example, work vs personal.
Thanks for your consideration and excellent work!

Support for ISO 8601 date formats (YYYY-MM-DD)
- have an option to display dates in a sane, superior, internationally standardized format...
- allow users to enter dates like "2024-05-08" when creating an event, instead of having to type "May 08, 2024" which is an annoying hindrance.
- bonus points if you let me paste "2024-05-08T14:45" and it update the time field too.

Add an option for dimming folders without unread messages
Currently all folders in the sidebar have bright titles. I would suggest an option to enable dimming of folders, views, and labels with no unread messages to make these stand out. Compared Thunderbird that uses colour and bold font to highlight unread messages. Categories (More, Folders, Labels) could assume the same highlight and unread count on the right when collapsed.

Datatype of dates in proton calendar
I tried to import a calendar from a different place to proton and got the error message that I cannot import dates beyond 2037. It may sound strange, but I have three long term things in my calendar.
I feel like introducing a 32bit bug in a relatively new product is quite the bad idea and consider this as a bug rather than a inconvenience. What do you think?

Mail and event reminder on Linux
On the Linux client, mail and calendar reminders are issued via the integrated notification system. At least that's how it is with Linux Mint. Unfortunately, this is pretty bad and confusing. It would be nice if the Linux client displayed its own windows for announcing an email or notifying an event (including a snooze and dismiss button).

More granular push notification control
Push notifications for Proton Mail on IOS are all-or-nothing: I can receive a push notification for every single email and new login both, or I can turn them all off.
I get too many emails to keep push notifications on for the Proton Mail app. Disabling them means that Proton no longer has any way to notify me that there's been a new login to my account. This is a security flaw.
Ideally, notifications would be quite flexible (allowing notifications to be set for specific labels or folders or other rules), but at the very least I should be able to set the different types of events I would like notifications for.

Dragging e-mail to label also archives
When dragging an e-mail from the inbox to a specific label, it 'moves' the e-mail to this label.
It would be great if the e-mail is also directly archived, so it disappears from the inbox.6 votes -
move messages from Trash to inbox
There are times, albeit rarely, that I accidentally move a message to the trash. I found out today that I cannot move a message from the Trash to the inbox. It would be nice if that were possible. I'm human, I make mistakes.

Add attachments to events
It would be very helpful/useful/convenient if file attachments could be added to calendar events... this would minimize having to search through drive to bring up a document that is related to an event.

Add Event Duration to Widget
The existing widget provides an overview of the current day’s events, but ignores event duration. A widget that displays the day exactly like in the actual calendar (with different event lengths and gaps) is missing. In that regard, you would even be ahead of Google.

Highlight 'today' in monthly calendar view
When viewing monthly calendar view (especially in dark mode) the current day (today) has only a single line highlight around the day number, this is hard to locate. Drawing a distinctive (e.g. bright yellow or orange) highlight around the whole day box or changing the background color to something contrasting would help.
All dark mode background highlights need to be 'turned up' in brightness as they are hard to see or interfere with readability. You can make these things options next to the Dark / Light / System selection to vary contrast or highlight intensity.
Thanks, loving Proton!

Ability to pre-select (via contact info) the email identity to use when composing an email to each specific contact.
Ability to designate within each contact a specific email identity to use when composing an email to that contact. The pre-selected "from" account should populate into the address window in accordance with contact-specific selections. When conflicts arise while composing an email to multiple parties, launch a dismissable pop-up warning. Undesignated outgoing accounts for contacts will continue to use the default outgoing account.
