Tags and sub-tags
I would love it if we could have sub-tags. For example, Hawaii would be a tag nested under Travel. Although folders allow subfolders, I think tags are so much more nimble and flexible.

Calendar Search On Android App
Really not much to say. I would like to be able to search my calendar using the android app. Not having search in the app severally hinders the functionality for me.

Link (or associate) emails and calendar events
This is different from creating a Calendar event from an email.
It is the ability to associate one or more emails with a Calendar event (or a task, which is a feature I expect to see soon).
Simple use-case:
- You receive 3 emails on different days notifying you about a delivery you'll have in 2 weeks time.
- You create a Calendar event two weeks from now saying "a delivery is expected on this day".
- You link the emails you receive regarding that delivery to that calendar event (or task). Any further emails you receive can also be linked to that event.
- When going into the calendar event, you can see a list of emails associated with it.This is very similar to how labels work, but instead of labels, they are actual Calendar events.
Another use-case is trip planning. You want to be able to easily refer to the relevant emails directly from a Calendar event.
This can be achieved quite easily by storing an email UID in a special section of the Calendar event metadata, and similarly, the Calendar events UIDs in the email metadata.

Add Advanced Sieve Extensions: Mailbox, Notifications, Body Filtering...
Proton Mail's Sieve implementation is missing several powerful RFC-standard extensions that would unlock advanced email automation.
Here are the key missing features: Mailbox Creation and Checking (RFC5490, RFC9042) - Automatically create folders and organize emails by sender domain without manual setup.
Notifications (RFC5435/RFC5436) - Send SMS or email notifications when specific emails arrive instead of just filing them.
Body Content Filtering (RFC5173) - Filter emails based on message body content, not just headers, for smarter spam detection.
Edit Headers (RFC5293) - Modify or add custom headers to emails as they arrive.
File Carbon Copy (RFC8580) - Keep automatic copies of filtered emails in specific folders for compliance or backup.
Calendar Processing (RFC9671) - Automatically handle calendar invitations and ICALENDAR attachments.

Show alias as sender, or at least next to it
When replying to an email sent to alias, the "from" field is populated with the main email, not with the alias.
As per my tests, the alias is ultimately used as sender, but this should also be shown on the user interface when sending the email. It's confusing and error prone otherwise.
If not directly in "from", show it somewhere next to it.

S/MIME signature validation support for e-mail clients via Proton Bridge
Please add support, that an e-mail client connected via Proton Bridge is able to validate S/MIME signature.
Reason: Banks, delivery services, public authorities, etc. use S/MIME signed e-mails to prove that an e-mail is genuine. This helps fighting fraud, fishing and other criminal activites.
Context: Currently, S/MIME signature cannot be validate in Proton Mail. A validation with an e-mail client connected via Proton Bridge cannot validate an S/MIME signature because Proton modifies e-mail headers that are essential for a successful S/MIME signature validation.
The posted idea "S/Mime Support" at https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail-calendar/suggestions/16574134-s-mime-support requests for much more: a full S/MIME implementation.Although full S/MIME support would be great, in my opinion, the most important part is to be able to validate S/MIME signatures.

ProtonMail mobile app allow attachments from other apps
As of today, it's only possible to source attachments from:
- my photo library
- take new picture
- import from...
None of these options allows me to choose from an app on my Android mobile phone. I would for example like to source pictures from my Synology Photos app.

Request for Bulk Deletion/Management of "Imported" Events in Proton Calendar
I recently imported a calendar file from WebCal.Guru, which added a large number of entries (approximately a year’s worth) to my Proton Calendar. After realizing that I no longer need these entries, I tried to delete or move them in bulk but encountered the following issues:
- Identifying the Events:
- I can search for these events using a common string included in each entry: “This calendar is provided by WebCal.Guru.” - However, after listing them via search, Proton Calendar does not allow selecting or managing multiple events simultaneously.- Desired Action:
- I would like to either delete or move all events that match this search term at once, to avoid manually handling each event individually..- Suggested Solutions:
- Adding a feature to allow multi-select and bulk action (delete/move) for events would be incredibly helpful, especially for handling imported or recurring events. - Capture the event of appending a calendar file to an existing calendar, and allow the option, at a future date, to remove those imported events. This would greatly improve the user experience and save significant time when managing calendar data. Thank you for considering this request, and I appreciate your work in making Proton Calendar a privacy-focused and user-friendly platform.

Dark mode icon support for macOS 26
Hi!
It would be nice if the Proton mail desktop app on macOS 26 supported dark mode.

Edit public holidays
Please consider allowing one to edit public holidays that are imported for a particular country, e.g. delete a regional public holiday that is not relevant to the user because they live in a different part of the country. Currently you cannot delete any public holidays. It will help to reduce calendar clutter. Thank you for considering!

Virus Scan for Attachments
Gmail scans attachments in e-mails for viruses and other malware. It would be nice if Proton was able to scan attachments in e-mails for viruses so we don't accidentally download an infected file.

Proton Mail and Calendar Bridge for iOS
My work HIPAA compliant encrypted email through Microsoft exchange works with apple's mail and calendar apps, so I don't necessarily understand why that couldn't be the same for Proton, especially if it just works through a device management profile like how desktop proton bridge works for the apple mail app.
I am not asking this because I think there's something inherently wrong with the Proton mobile apps, I am asking because I would like one app where I can view all of my inboxes together (same for calendar). I personally have my personal proton mail inboxes as well as Microsoft exchange inboxes for work and for school, and a lesser used iCloud email address, and a google account created with my proton mail email so that family who uses Google Calendar can share their google calendars with me without having to make their calendars public. I prefer the apple mail and calendar apps because they allow me to view all of these calendars and inboxes together, regrettably except my proton mail account.

Undo Time
Undo Time is limited to 20 seconds.
I am bit slow in thinking, so I would need more time to figure out if I am wrong or not.
A further threshold of 60 seconds, or even better also a free one, would be great. Thanks

Feature Request: Respect DMARC "p=reject" Policy for Custom Domains
I'm writing to suggest an improvement to Proton Mail's handling of DMARC policies. Currently, when an incoming email fails DMARC validation for a domain with a p=reject policy, Proton Mail always delivers it to the Spam folder instead of rejecting it at the SMTP level.
While I understand this "soft" approach prevents legit mail loss due to misconfiguration (as permitted by RFC 7489 Section 6), it also diminishes the security value of a "Reject" policy for domain owners who want to strictly prevent spoofing.
Proposed Phased Implementation:
Phase 1 (Internal Custom Domains): Exclusively allow Proton Mail Custom Domain From Addresses to apply their DMARC Reject Policy (if applicable). Since these users manage their own DNS records, they expect higher security standards. By rejecting failed emails at the gateway, you can provide them with the precise protection they've configured.
Benefit: This minimizes the impact on general "mailing list" senders while significantly boosting security for Proton's paid users.
Phase 2 (Advanced): Provide a toggle in one of the settings page allowing the paid users (or all users) to opt-in to "Strict DMARC Reject Policy Enforcement."
Why this matters: True DMARC rejection prevents sensitive "Business Email Compromise" (BEC) attacks from ever reaching the user's mailbox. Forcing these into the Spam folder still leaves the user vulnerable to social engineering if they check their Junk mail.
As a privacy and security-focused service, Proton Mail should be the ideal platform to lead the way in honoring domain owners' explicit security intents.

Letting users rearrange the Proton Mail sidebar
The Proton Mail sidebar can only be rearranged starting from the "Folders" section and anything after that. It would be helpful to let users move any folder/section like "Inbox", "Spam", "Trash" or any folders created in the sidebar to where the user needs it to be between the top and the bottom of the list.
In iCloud, in Gmail and in Outlook, you can choose the order of the things in your sidebar to have what you use most often at the top and the least often at the bottom.
Thank you for reading our posts and you guys have a nice day.

Select all emalis matching a search
Again... seems like this would be on a "required for day one" list but - we need the ability to perform a search and select all matching results. Currently there is a 'first page' or 'all' on a Folder and Label level - but it needs to be more granular - while still allowing to select more than 50 results.

Make swiping more fluid, just like in the old Proton Mail app on iOS
In the old version of the Proton Mail app on iOS, you could easily swipe a message to delete it. Now, when you want to delete a message by a quick swipe, it stops and shows you the bin icon. Only when swiping again, or clicking the bin icon, it deletes. This is not as intuitive and by far not as satisfying.

export event as *.ics (also recurring event)
Propose to allow export event as *.ics file. Quite often is needed to create an event and send other people that event as calendar event, which can be imported regardless of used calendar. For such purposes, the *.ics event format is the best. Please allow export event as it is: either one or recurring event. Thank you!

Shared ownership over a shared Calendar to allow another user to invite new users
We're using Proton for our company and have a shared calendar for holidays etc. In order to manage the shared calendar we would like shared ownership over a shared calendar or a shared calendar owned by several people.

Add multiple ways to sort emails.
I originally wanted to ask that we be able to sort our Inbox by tag/label. I did see that idea, but also saw requests to sort by star/no star and sender. So I wanted to combine these into a single improvement - to be able to sort the inbox by any column. Being able to do this, helps improve productivity. I would like to be able to see the emails I consider most important to follow up at the top, for example. It can also be valuable to see all the emails from a particular sender or under a specific label grouped together.
