Add the day of the week to the calendar quickview sidebar
Hi, a real simple enhancement that will help loads. In the calendar sidebar in the mail app please add the day of the week to the date. So, at the top is says "Wednesday, 14 Jan 2026" etc. rather than just "14 Jan 2026". It'll help ensure we get appointments, etc in on the right day.

Link (or associate) emails and calendar events
This is different from creating a Calendar event from an email.
It is the ability to associate one or more emails with a Calendar event (or a task, which is a feature I expect to see soon).
Simple use-case:
- You receive 3 emails on different days notifying you about a delivery you'll have in 2 weeks time.
- You create a Calendar event two weeks from now saying "a delivery is expected on this day".
- You link the emails you receive regarding that delivery to that calendar event (or task). Any further emails you receive can also be linked to that event.
- When going into the calendar event, you can see a list of emails associated with it.This is very similar to how labels work, but instead of labels, they are actual Calendar events.
Another use-case is trip planning. You want to be able to easily refer to the relevant emails directly from a Calendar event.
This can be achieved quite easily by storing an email UID in a special section of the Calendar event metadata, and similarly, the Calendar events UIDs in the email metadata.

Link to Proton Mail in Proton Calendar sidebar.
Could you add link to Proton Mail in Proton Calendar sidebar or offer it as an option? Currently, only Contacts link appears. I noted that a link to Calendar appears in the Mail sidebar albeit limited.

Tags and sub-tags
I would love it if we could have sub-tags. For example, Hawaii would be a tag nested under Travel. Although folders allow subfolders, I think tags are so much more nimble and flexible.

See ongoing and completed folder actions
At present when you perform a bulk action (eg moving many emails from one folder to another) while this is still in progress the folder/label shows a banner saying "Message actions in progress. This may take a while." I would like a central place in settings to see what actions are currently in progress and when they have completed. This is particularly important when setting up filters and applying them to existing emails.
Eg I moved all emails from "facebook" to a particular folder, then moved all facebook emails regarding events to a sub-folder, at present it is very difficult to tell that these operations will happen in the correct order.
I also have some short term memory issues which mean that I am sure that I repeated several actions unnecessarily.
Being able to cancel in progress actions (with a warning that cancelling the action will not reverse it) would be useful.

Allow Sorting of Contacts by Surname
Please make provision to sort Contacts by Surname. Sorting by first name only is a bad idea and makes it hard to find a particular contact.

Quick Reactions to Emails
It would be great to have a feature similar to message reactions in chat apps, for example, being able to quickly tap an icon (like 👍 or ❤️) to react to an email without writing a full reply.
Microsoft Outlook already includes this, and it’s great for acknowledging messages or quick feedback without having to write a full reply.
For Proton Mail users, the reaction could appear inline (e.g., “Recipient liked this email”).
For other email providers, Proton could send a short, automatically generated message such as:
“[Username] reacted to your email with 👍.”9 votes -
Calendar app icon to display the current {day of week} and {day of month}
Background
The Proton Calendar app on iOS (and presumably Android )currently appears like a blueish/purple square with a small "31" in the bottom right corner. The "31" is static and doesn't change.
The official Apple Calendar app icon has the name of the day (e.g. "SAT") and the day of the month (e.g. "13") on the icon itself, making the app icon useful at a glance without even requiring the user to open the app.
Proposal:
It would be very cool and very useful if the "31" on the Proton Calendar app icon actually changed to represent the current day of the month. It would be even better if the Proton Calendar icon could be redesigned to show the same information as the Apple Calendar icon.
Conclusion:
As it currently stands, I need to keep the Apple Calendar icon on my iOS screen simply because it's useful, even if I intend to use the Proton Calendar app for my actual day-to-day work. This is a minor annoyance but it would be satisfying to finally be able to remove the Apple Calendar app from my iOS screen.

Add multiple ways to sort emails.
I originally wanted to ask that we be able to sort our Inbox by tag/label. I did see that idea, but also saw requests to sort by star/no star and sender. So I wanted to combine these into a single improvement - to be able to sort the inbox by any column. Being able to do this, helps improve productivity. I would like to be able to see the emails I consider most important to follow up at the top, for example. It can also be valuable to see all the emails from a particular sender or under a specific label grouped together.

Calendar reminders with "Urgent" option
Be able to create "urgent" reminders like the ones just introduced in the native iOS Calendar App. Very useful!:
https://www.macrumors.com/2025/11/04/ios-26-2-alarms-reminders-app/"In iOS 26.2, there's a new option to set an alarm to go off when creating a reminder in the Reminders app. When adding a reminder, selecting a time and then toggling on the "Urgent" option will cause an alarm to go off at the designated time."
"Alarms that you set in the Clock app can also be integrated into the Reminders app by allowing the app to access Alarms in the Settings app.
When a Reminder alarm activates, it displays a snooze option or a slide to stop option. If you snooze it, it will show a countdown on the Lock Screen that includes an option to complete the reminder or reschedule it. Tapping to complete the reminder opens up the Reminders app where you need to tap again.
In the Reminders section of the Settings app, you can also opt to remove the snooze option and replace it with a Complete button to immediately mark it as complete. Apple distinguishes Reminders alarms from standard alarms with a new blue color."

Select more than 50 emails and perform bulk actions
You've implemented "select 50 messages and perform bulk actions". Congrats!
Now we need the same thing available for all messages. We do not want to have to build AI agents to select and delete 50 message at a time. We want to be able to delete them all in one go from the Web client, like on other platforms.
I've seen this implemented as a 2 step action, select 50, then a checkbox shows up to allow the user to select all messages if they want to.12 votes -
Provide a Way to Disable HTML in Emails
Html is very present in emails from CRM software but is rarely ever present in emails sent from friends and relatives. It is unnecessary, wastes space, and presents some vulnerabilities and tracking potential. Scammers can use html to obfuscate urls for phishing attacks, and companies can use images to track opens. Can Proton add a way to either strip html from emails before it reaches my inbox, or disable the rendering of the html once it is in my inbox, or both? Or at least disable the rendering of links specifically, so that they can no longer be obfuscated? Outlook has a way to do this, and it works great, but I'd like to be able to check emails in my browser as well, without having html render there.

Allow moving sent email to inbox
The same as Gmail allows, I want to be able move a sent email to my inbox after sending. This is a highly common activity if you want to check in a few days that someone has responded to your email and not forget about it. It's not possible currently without the suggested features. There is currently a 'mark as unread' feature, but that doesn't put the email in your inbox, so you'll never check it again.

Unlimited custom‑domain forwarding for paid Proton Unlimited Mail accounts
Unlimited custom‑domain forwarding for paid Proton Mail accounts
Brief request
Since switching to Proton Mail, I’ve noticed a missing feature: the ability to forward an unlimited number of addresses from my own domain (e.g., whatever@mydomain.com).
Currently, for Proton Unlimited, each forwarding address must be one of the 15 “authorized” addresses listed in the account settings. For a paid plan this restriction feels annoying.Your strategy, is may be to push people to subscribe for Proton Family, which has a limit of 90 adresses e-mail/alias. But come on, you push too far.
Detailed description I would like to be able to create forwarding rules for any number of addresses belonging to my domain—ideally with no hard limit, or at least well beyond the current 15‑address limit of the Unlimited plan. Typical use‑case My family uses our own domain for everyday communication, but we want all mail to land in our individual Proton Mail inboxes. With unlimited forwarding we could set up rules such as: wife@mydomain.com → mywife@protonmail.com mybeautifulwife@mydomain.com → mywife@protonmail.com kid1@mydomain.com → kid1@protonmail.com kid1.name@mydomain.com → kid1@protonmail.com kid2@mydomain.com → kid2@protonmail.com kid2.name@mydomain.com → kid2@protonmail.com …and so on for any additional family members or aliases. Why this matters
This is a basic, expected capability for a paid email service that supports custom domains. Limiting forwarding to a small amount of address is a pain **********.
I'm thinking to move away from proton because of that.Requested outcome Add an option in the Proton Mail settings that lets paid users create unlimited (or at least substantially higher) forwarding rules for any address under their custom domain.Thank you for considering this enhancement

export event as *.ics (also recurring event)
Propose to allow export event as *.ics file. Quite often is needed to create an event and send other people that event as calendar event, which can be imported regardless of used calendar. For such purposes, the *.ics event format is the best. Please allow export event as it is: either one or recurring event. Thank you!

Request for Bulk Deletion/Management of "Imported" Events in Proton Calendar
I recently imported a calendar file from WebCal.Guru, which added a large number of entries (approximately a year’s worth) to my Proton Calendar. After realizing that I no longer need these entries, I tried to delete or move them in bulk but encountered the following issues:
- Identifying the Events:
- I can search for these events using a common string included in each entry: “This calendar is provided by WebCal.Guru.” - However, after listing them via search, Proton Calendar does not allow selecting or managing multiple events simultaneously.- Desired Action:
- I would like to either delete or move all events that match this search term at once, to avoid manually handling each event individually..- Suggested Solutions:
- Adding a feature to allow multi-select and bulk action (delete/move) for events would be incredibly helpful, especially for handling imported or recurring events. - Capture the event of appending a calendar file to an existing calendar, and allow the option, at a future date, to remove those imported events. This would greatly improve the user experience and save significant time when managing calendar data. Thank you for considering this request, and I appreciate your work in making Proton Calendar a privacy-focused and user-friendly platform.

Decline a single instance of a recurring event from an external sender
When an external sender invites me to a recurring event series, I would like to be able to decline single instances of that event.
Desired MVP user experience:
1. Person invites me to a recurring event series
2. When I need to decline a single instance of an event, I go to that event on my calendar and set my "Attending?" status for that instance to "No, I won't attend"
3. I am prompted whether I'd like to decline just this event, all future events, or the entire series. I select 'this event'.
4. The single instance of the event is no longer on my calendar, and (bonus points!) the person who invited me is notified that I've declined that instance. All other events in the series are unaltered by this action.Current broken user experience:
1. Person invites me to a recurring event (e.g. Weekly on Monday from 9-10am), I accept and the event is on my calendar. So far so good.
2. Eventually I need to skip one upcoming instance of the event (e.g. the single instance on Monday October 14, 2024 from 9-10am), and want to decline the invitation for that single instance so that my calendar is accurate and to notify the person who sent the invite that I've declined that instance.
3. I go to Proton Calendar on web (or any other platform), find the instance of the event, and try to set "Attending?" for that instance to "No, I won't attend".
<BEGIN PROBLEM>
4. A modal pops up that reads "Update recurring event - Would you like to change your answer for all the events in this series?" with options of "Update" or "Cancel"
5. Neither option works; clicking "Update" declines all events in the series, and clicking "Cancel" makes no change. These are both not the outcome I want. I don't want to get rid of the entire series. I don't want my calendar to be inaccurate when I know I won't be attending an instance of an event, or to leave the person invited me with inaccurate information that I'll attend when I know I won't.
<END PROBLEM>This is basic MVP calendar app stuff, and I'm going to have a hard time using Proton Calendar (and by extension, Proton Mail, and if not either of those then probably scrapping the full suite) much longer without it.
Is there any hope of getting this sort of table stakes digital calendar functionality prioritized?
If not, just say so and I'll show myself out, no need to drag this on.
