If you use a dark screen on Android, the App will follow that. Mine stays in dark mode.

Not necessarily only a "dark" theme, but just an improvement to the aesthetic and readability of the current app for Android would be appreciated. Multiple themes would be even better.

This has already been implemented in the new version of the app that was released two weeks ago.

Much needed option, which doesn't sound like it's so complicated to implement It's the one thing that's keeping me from becoming a paid user.

I guess 2 years is a short time to them.

How long does it take to change the HEX code on your style properties in IntelliJ???? Seriously you call yourselves developers? The project manager on your Android team needs to get replaced ASAP. Switzerland is a country of oxymorons. On the one hand you have mountains with the freshest air anywhere. On the other you go to the cities and people are smoking everywhere. SMH

I just signed up for plus, assuming there was already a dark mode for the iOS app. Wow, just shocking that it's nearly August of 2021 and it's STILL not implemented. I wish I hadn't signed up. I feel ripped off. Buyer's remorse, big time.

I think dark theme for app is a must. For the web app I've resolved with Stylus: the web app dark theme is not really dark, because messages reading and editing have still white background. Many thanks.

Dark theme for the Android app is badly needed indeed. After more than 4 years and 12k+ votes, hopefully we don't have to wait for this much longer...

The app is so hard to read on the phone because you guys use a really light color for read messages. Please, for all that is good in the world, add a dark mode, or get better at background colors. It's terrible.

Offer a setting for dark mode in the app

I would certainly welcome a DARK THEME, i.e. - DARK background (currently it is BRILLIANT eye squinting WHITE) with fine lined text. I find it completely annoying to look at, as compared to dark themed apps. I understand there is a dark theme BETA for the website, but that really does not bother me, as I can use the Dark Reader addon for Firefox to switch it over. I am a supporter of ProtonMail with a PLUS account. I WOULD LOVE A DARK THEME FOR THE ANDROID APP - A.S.A.P.

Why ask PM to stray from continued development of contacts, calendar, proton drive, etc? Most are requesting continued improvement of features to move away from gmail then ask for trivial dark mode?

I am not wasting a vote on this but I do really want to see it! Just not as much as subfolders!!!

Now that the dark mode is a current feature, it becomes even more urgent for this option to be implemented, given that many interfaces have switched to a dark theme and it makes the sudden brightness contrast on the screen when opening ProtonMail really uncomfortable and annoying.

For me it's even a veavy argument to favour FastMail because of it's responsive and polished interface, even though I value ProtonMail as a company better.
