Most recent emails at the top of thread, not bottom. I've already missed several because it goes to the oldest mail in the thread.

There's no setting for this. Other emails give most recent at the top.
Also, having my name on a thread when I have replied to someone is confusing. I didn't send the received message, my contact did, but I can't see who it was on threads of similar names.
I'm finding the inbox rather clunky.
I'd like to be a long term user of protonmail, but you need to improve its functionality before I'd do that.

I have some threads with hundreds of messages (credit card transactions, etc) and have to scroll down through all of those messages every time. Please make this a higher priority.

This is an issue for me too. Newest email at top means I don't have to scroll through a bunch of outdated emails, especially for recurring subject lines like for 2FA.

This is immensely annoying. Happens frequently that I'm wasting time reading an old mail, clicking outdated links, wondering about why it is all outdated, until I realize proton mail tricked me and the actual mail that I'm interested in hides somewhere below and off screen. Very bad UX. :(

Put new emails at the top of the thread as god intended. No one really wants to scroll through the whole freaking thread to get to the newest entry...it is maddening.
Oh, and adding the recipients name to the thread because they reply is useless and confusing. Quite frankly, I only care about the name of the sender of the latest item in the thread.

In an email thread, the developers can consider that we have read the previous items. They should be arranged chronologically descending for reference, but the ONLY one that is important is the most recent. It needs to be front and center, right at the top.
Almost every other email service offers this, at least as an option, though it should be default.
It makes me wonder sometimes if developers actually use the product.

Another vote for this feature, in threads with lots of email it is such a frustrating experience to always have to scroll scroll scroll to get to the email you are looking for

Yes, please make this an option. I am used to Apple Mail where you have the option to adjust this. It happened already a couple to times that I overlooked a new email of a client.

Fresh Linux build, installed bridge and it's working, configured Thunderbird and it says it's working, but no mail. Installed Protonmail app and it works...but new messages in threads appear at the bottom with no option to have them appear at the top. Honestly seems like a theme for the past decade at least - something good and something bad at the same time, two sides of the same coin. Please implement a setting for new messages to appear at the top of threads.

Give an option to sort "conversations" in email with the most recent message first.
For example, I have email alerts for my credit card. When I try to open a message now, it loads in either at the top with messages from months ago, or randomly halfway down the list. This problem will only get worse the longer I use your service as those messages are all grouped together, and the message I want will get farther and farther away.

In an email conversation, the newest emails should ALWAYS be at the top of the conversation, not at the bottom. In long conversations, why should I have to manually scroll all the way to the bottom to read a new email??? This is one of 3 things that frustrates me about Proton Mail.
#2: On the desktop, you should be able to toggle up or down between emails using the arrow keys, like Apple Mail does. This should be standard, not something you have to suggest.
#3: When deleting an email or email conversation, the next email should AUTOMATICALLY be selected and be able to be read without having to manually select the next email. Again, should be a standard feature, not a request.
I installed Proton Bridge with Apple Mail just so I don't waist my time reading my Proton emails.

Could you change the behavior of Proton Mail or add an option to jump to the most recent UNREAD message/email within a conversation thread? Currently, the first unread message (oldest) is shown instead of the most recent when clicking on a conversation with a new unread email.

Is there a way to get the newest email to move to the top of the conversation, like Apple Mail, instead of at the bottom? If not, WHY?

Astonishing that this isn't a preference or default setting, and users have been complaining about it for at least three years.
Please implement this asap. Protonmail is horrible for everyday, intensive work use without this basic, easily implemented 'feature'.

PLEASE make this an option. I'm missing several emails because I am not used to looking at the bottom of a list for new emails. No email client but Gmail defaults to this. Please consider adding a toggle or I'll have to find an alternative secure email platform.

Please, why is this STILL not a default feature? Why would you usually want to go to th BEGINNING of a chain when you are clicking an email notification? Surely you want to View the RECENT one!
Baffles me and seriously irks me, what a rubbish setup and it's been waiting literally years for this to be added. Please implement this as a priority.
