Options to send (large) images using my iPhone and iPad
Proton Mail is lacking standard options for sending images in e-mails. The basic option that should be available is this one:
- Give the user an option to embed/attach the image as small/medium/large/original. This is standard in all mail clients that I use. Proton is lacking this option that is used extensively with the users that I have gotten to move over to Proton. The workaround for now is to have another mail account that can be used with a standard mail client, and send images that way.To make things nicer for sending original quality images, Proton could implement…

(Add option to) Display all attachments in thread and forwards without having to click on "Show"
It is unclear in the current design that attachments are attached, which increases chances of forwarding unintentionally. This is because you have to do an additional click on a text and there are no colored icons indicating attachments.
Please make it clearer an email contains attachments by showing them directly, for example with colored icons. (Ideally on top of the email/thread instead of below).4 votes -

Be able, in the views tab to list and archive or delete emails like email validation temporary links, totp tokens ... etc.

Add an option to remove pastel colors of the sender, add lines between emails
It would be nice to be able to have a setting to have the sender “cards” be compact and colorless like they used to be. As well as adding a setting to be able to have separator lines between emails so you can discern between different emails easier, it would help visually.

WebUI - Fastmail vs ProtonMail
I've tested Fastmail webmail and the response time of the website outpaces ProtonMail in the thousands. My ProtonMail experience lately (web) is being somewhat sluggish.
Tested on Vivaldi, Edge and Firefox, same results.Not sure if I'm the only one but can this be improved?

Broader timezone-compatability in Calendar
I routinely get calendar-invites that can't get imported into Proton Calendar because of some error in the timezone-encoding.
To import it i have to save the .ics-file, open it in Outlook and then manually enter it into Proton..7 votes -
Messages sent via Forward Rule have no sent logs to review
As an Unlimited user I'm unable to see any way to review logs of what's been sent. I am an Unlimited user, but it sounds like I need an additional premium Mail subscription for this functionality. This seems like very basic functionality that should be included for the price of Unlimited.

Open Individual Email Without Closing All Notifications
If I get ten emails, and only want to open one right now, let me open a single email and leave the remaining notifications untouched. Currently, opening ANY protonmail email closes ALL notifications - this is extremely frustrating, especially when managing email accounts for multiple domains.

Simplify the scope of Calendar
Proton’s standard calendar covers 24 hours a day. I don’t work at night.
I am therefore looking for a way to adjust the layout of my calendars, by modifying the time schedule, for example from 07:00 to 20:00 (instead of 00:00 to 24:00).
This allows you to browse more efficiently in this time slot, while keeping the display of 1, 3 days or the week (so without using the agenda version).

Automatic alphabetical sorting of folders and subfolders
Hi! It's a waste of time to go and click on the sort button. It would be so ùuch easier if the sorting could be automatic. And we would have the choice between automatic and manual.

Agenda view overflowing items icon color
The "+" icon that shows up when you have more than 4 events on a single day is black on dark mode, so you don't really notice it. The color should be displayed based on the color mode you're in (black in light, white in dark mode)

Standardize
Standardize the look and feel of INBOX, DRAFT, SEND, ARCHIVE, STARRED and TRASH icons across all devices. Take some time to design icons that are more attractive and appealing.
The icons that I am talking about are the ones that appear when there is no emails in the applicable mail box.

I-phone Protonmail app - improvement with backward steps?
One of the improvements made is the ability to enlarge a pic or text without the email jumping back to the beginning.
The negatives are : 1. When enlargeing an image or text, you can't swipe left to see the rest of the item. 2. Swiping left to the next email is no longer possible. 3. The old app dropped you into the next email when deleting an opened email. No longer the case. The app developers made one step forward and three backward! What gives?3 votes -

Meaningful subject line for appointment reminder emails
You can set up an email reminder for appointments in Proton Calendar.
When the email arrives, you unfortunately can't read what it's about in the subject line.
Example:
Reminder: Appointment starts on Sunday, October 5 (all day)Instead, the appointment title should appear after "Reminder:".

Email Signature for New Mail but not in Replies
It would be great to have the option to have email signatures in newly composed emails, but turn them OFF in replies.

Clear Proton Mail Android notification, if that new email was read on desktop or another device
So if I receive a new email, my phone notifies me, and notification stays until I open Proton Mail on my Android phone and read the email. However, if I am at home by my computer, I get a new email, my phone notifies me, but I read that email on my PC instead without touching my phone. The notification of that email stays on my phone screen until I unlock the phone and clear it.
Gmail app would clear the notification of the new email, if that email was (marked) read through PC or other device.

Change the delete swipe in Mail back to a simple left swipe
The new version of the Mail app now requires a rather long single left swipe or a short left swipe plus a tap to delete a mail. This is really inconvenient and slows down email reviews/processing. For better or for worse, deleting is what we do most. This function should be as simple as possible - just a single short left swipe, just like it was previously. Please change it back.
