  3. Inbox Email Colours

I would like to be able to apply colour to mail in my Inbox via, Apple default pop-up colour palette. When using Mac Mail, I am able to select an email, open the colour palette and apply colour to the entirety of the email as displayed in the Inbox pane. I use this as a quick and bold way to highlight emails and quickly find and would be a nice feature to carry over to provide one more means for mail organization.

  5. duo

With Proton Duo you can share calendar(s) and passwords, but not contacts. Many couples share a single contact list.

Please consider allowing the sharing of contacts between the two Duo accounts.

  6. NIST post quantum encryption for HTTPS connection with proton servers

I just want to invite the proton service to use the X25519Kyber768 Post-Quantum Key Exchange during the https communication with the protonMail server. At least, it would be great if this or another NIST advanced PQ encryption was used for every communication with the proton servers. Seems that the power of the actual quantum computers (august 2024) is growing faster than the expectations and that the AES-256-GCM cipher has the counted days. So it could be a critical aspect.

  7. In Row layout, Display Selected Email in a Right-sided Pane like in Column layout

Essentially, I'd like to see the emails in Row layout just like in Column layout. It's ineffecient to click on each email and have to hit the back arrow to get back to the list of emails.

  8. Allow easy searching/filtering for mail delivered to @passmail.com addresses.

When I sign up for new sites I'm leveraging Proton Pass to create aliases. It would be nice to have an easy way to filter out passmail from the inbox, or for them to all be automatically routed to a separate folder.

  9. Customise toolbar on Web/Desktop

It is possible to customise toolbar for a Message and Inbox on the Mobile (iOS at least), which is a great feature! However, I miss it on the Desktop/Web App, where I have to focus every time on choosing the right icon from 5, when I personally only need one or two visible.

  10. view

Request to have the ability to open email in its own full size window. Issue: Reading messages on my tiny Chromebook have the added burdened by the fact that the left column (Dashboard, Upgrade plan, Recovery, etc.) takes up a 1/4 of the window, rendering the content I'm trying to read ridiculously tedious to read at the minimum of speed.

  11. Import via Easy Switch: Option to designate Folder or apply filter to save time & CPU cycles, too!

When importing a single email account via Easy Switch, please consider adding the option to create a new folder (or designate an existing folder) as the destination for the account that is being imported. A related option would be to have the ability to apply a filter to what is being imported to route the imported 'conversations' to the desired folder. Currently, after the import has completed, the user needs to create a filter (and choose "apply filter to existing emails") to move all the imported 'conversations' (that were tagged with the label assigned during the import set-up) to the…

  13. Hiding addressee email address from URL

Sending mail to another Proton Mail user uses E2E encryption, which is nice. Although the key validation mechanism(?) contains steps calling different APIs within the proton environment, and such HTTP requests contain the email address of the addressees, therefore it is exposed and logged in case your company inspects TLS.

    Example key validation flow:

    mail.proton.me/api/core/v4/keys/all?Email=username@proton.me&InternalOnly=0
    mail.proton.me/api/kt/epochs
    mail.proton.me/api/kt/v1/epochs/2464/proof?Identifier=username@proton.me&Revision=2
    mail.proton.me/api/kt/v1/epochs/2464/proof?Identifier=username@proton.me&Revision=1
    mail.proton.me/api/contacts/v4/contacts/emails?Email=username@proton.me

Can you please consider hiding the email address in the requests?

    Thank you.

  15. Very basic sentinel for proton mail plus

Add one or possibly two stripped down features of proton sentinel to proton mail plus. If the user wants the full sentinel package, then they would need to upgrade to unlimited.

  16. allow creation of group email for basic users

Allow the creation of 5 or 10 groups for basic users. I am a member of a 501c3 foundation (Suburban Lions Club Foundation). It would helpful for small non profit organizations to create membership groups, board of director groups, etc. This would also be beneficial to attract new users.

  17. iOS App Lock

Possibility of extending the App Lock PIN field to be alpha numeric.
I’d love to lock my Proton Mail and other Proton Apps (iOS) using a custom password.

Could be an addition to Biometric & PIN Unlock, or an extended toggle to the already existing PIN Code “Field” (into Alpha Numeric), much like iOS with Device Unlock.

More detailed explanation; I personally don’t use PIN since they’re usually short in length, and Biometric uses Face ID and it falls back to Device PIN if Face ID fails.. Which also, I don’t like using PINs.. I also do give my phone…

  18. Count of duplicates after import

Currently, if a folder being imported into Proton has the same email twice (can at least happen with Outlook, where you can copy emails to folders in classic Windows client), they are silently discarded. If one is to compare the numbers of emails in source and Proton, though, they will get a mismatch. Having at least count of those duplicates in the final report after export will be helpful. Even better is to copy those duplicates still, but with a label "Duplicate" or something like that.

  19. Return to mail after calendar

Right now when you click "Open in Proton Calendar" button in Windows Mail app, you can't get back to the mail app from the opened screen. You need to re-open it. Which is not convenient.

  20. Outlook-like layout

It would be nice to be able to have a layout similar to what you can have in classic Outlook (in Windows, no the "new Outlook" thing): folders on the left, in center you have list of email at the top and email previews at the bottom, and on the right you can have calendar showing today's events (in a list, and not in "Calendar's today's view") and (if space allows) events in the next couple of days along with the actual calendar (which is always opened and showing current month), and then under it - list of tasks and…
