Open email in separate window
Some emails are too wide to be displayed inside the third frame of the web-app. We have the option to change the appearance of the web-app from three to two frames but it could be done easier.
I request an option to double-click an email in the list to open this email in a separate window. This window should than open as wide as necessary to fit the width of the specific email.

Yeah so I just migrated from Outlook to ProtonMail because I thought I'd give it a try (with my custom domain email). I use it for jobs, and not having a pop-out chat is quite a deal breaker. Is there any way to get more traction on this? I added my three votes...

As a separate use case for the same feature, I receive some emails which contain a very long amount of text to read (it's part of a fiction story) and it's nicer to popout the email to its own window so I can resize it (narrow and tall) for reading, and keep the window until I'm done reading the whole thing, without it being in the way of seeing new incoming emails. So, I prefer the separate window to show only the email and not have the rest of the Proton Mail web-app UI. And, that it is fully resizable by the user.
I'd be fine with the "Open in a New Window" action in the same list as View Headers and other less used options.

Sadly, I'm out of votes and don't know how to regain some. This idea is very important to me, I miss this functionality since I've started using ProtonMail.

I would also like to be able to see more of my composition as I write an email. As well, controlling the scrolling, up and down, is often very difficult and annoying.

I was reading my emails through the proton.me web-interface and I liked the use of the up and down arrows (to move across the folders), then the left and right arrows (to move between the columns, which allows to choose the emails and then to scroll through the email itself).
However, my laptop screen is a bit small and there is little space for the email to be fully displayed (I would need to scroll left and right to be able to read it, which is quite difficult).
I was looking for any button or option to quickly display the email full screen or to pop it up in a separate window to allow easy reading? Or, perhaps a shortcut key I could use to make this happen?

Investing 3 votes to this issue. Please bring the small popup icon and/or double-click behavior into the browser for a popup UX such as that found with other email programs (I would recommend both the popup in a new window and the popup into a new tab as minimal, whether that be via a setting or preferably just an interaction on-the-fly each time you initiaite a popup). Thank you!

ProtonMail architects-- Hello, hello, and hello. It seems like there are several protonmail users that all want the same thing. Every now and then, I check back to see if there is any implementation for this and am disappointed. Please please give the users of Protonmail the ability to read messages in a NEW WINDOW. It's 2022 now. Again , please let us read /open messages in a new window with a pop up.

I found a similar suggestion which implies the opening of messages in new tabs which would be good enough...but the suggestion date seems to be around the year 2015 :( -

Allow me to open emails in full size window so I can read all the text. Can't resize the windows either. The old version was better.

Agree with this one - need a way to view email in a separate window.

Open message in its own window to read and reply.

Yes! It can be heard to see the entire message when working on a laptop screen.

I often have to draw information from multiple emails when drafting return messages. It would be much easier to be able to open emails in a pop out/up window instead of having to open multiple browser windows and sign in multiple times to have more than one email opened on my screen simultaneously.

Sometimes I'd really prefer to open a mail in a separate window. So far it can be opened only within the main window of the whole program.
