Option to hide Proton Mail Bridge app on macOS
If the Bridge app has to be running all the time to make Proton Mail work in other clients, like Apple Mail, I wish there was a way to hide the app so the icon doesn’t occupy space in my dock or tab switcher.

iOS Disable Screen Capture
Many apps, like Netflix and video editing apps, block screen capture attempts by displaying a black screen. This functionality should be available as at least an option for a privacy-focused app like ProtonMail.

Disable Legacy Proton Addresses
Please enable the ability use the “disable” option for not only new Proton Mail addresses, but also for legacy email addresses like “@protonmail.com” and “@pm.me” etc. Many of us have been with you for many years and want to use our proton.me addresses and the legacy addresses we can’t delete add clutter. It would be nice to be able to disable them like you can with other addresses.

Contacts: segregate automatically added contacts from ones I add myself
I just looked in Mail Contacts and found hundreds of contacts that seem to be automatically added from emails I've sent. If I add my own contacts manually, I definitely want them to be displayed first, in a different category to auto-added contacts.

Give the mobile app swipe actions a "none"
I don't use the swipe actions, but I understand they are popular. But I do use the side menu with some frequency, to check different labels for example. However, the only way to open up the side menu in the new Android app is to either hit the top hamburger button (hard to reach on many phones when using one-handed) or to swipe from the left in a space without any mails. Many of my folders/labels have more than enough mail to fill the page, so there is no real room to swipe, and I would love to just open the side menu from swiping anywhere! If we had a "none" option on the swipe actions, this could allow the flexibility.

Remember that conversation is encrypted when replying to non-Proton addresses
At the moment when I send a password-encrypted email to a non-Proton address it looks something like this -
- Password protect new email and send to Gmail address.
- Recipient clicks link, provides password and replies.
- Response is received into Proton inbox.
- Hit reply. Reply is now by default going to be sent plain text with no encryption.
Suggestion is that Proton Mail should remember that this is a password-protected conversation and ideally send the response back without prompting again for the password.
This suggestion is similar but not identical to the following -

Create a subfolder directly from the parent folder level
Why can't we create a new folder from the level of the future parent folder? Why do we have to scroll up to get to the create folder icon. Just like any folder has Edit and Delete, it also should have Create subfolder here. THis would shorten up user journey. On Web, when you have a bunch of folders, getting to that functionality requires you to scroll up. When you're in the middle of folder reorganization, this throws you out of the workflow and context.

Easy way to switch spellchecking language in desktop App for multilingual users
How about implementing a quick way (shortcut/right click whatever) of switching spellchecking language in desktop App (windows) for multilingual users such as me - I communicate in 4 or 5 different languages and I would love to get rid of the "angry" red squiggly lines under correctly spelled words, and perhaps even some help to avoid occasional typos/spelling mistakes, in the languages that I am less proficient in.

Add print preview to desktop app
Please add print preview to the desktop app.
When printing from ProtonMail in a browser, you can see what the printout will look like, how many pages it will take, etc., and format accordingly. That's not possible in the desktop app.

Select multiple items with shift and control
I can't believe I'm having to request this but why can't I select multiple emails with control, or multiple in a sequence with shift? This is a very basic shortcut that exists in every email client I've ever used, and is also standard in file browsing, spreadsheets, anything where selecting multiple things is an option. This is honestly a breaking feature for me, I cannot manage my inbox efficiently without it

Option to print from desktop app for any attached file type
There is currently an option to print attached files if they are .pdf format, but if you try to print .jpg or others the print option is not available. The only option is to download, then print.

Add ability to mark a mail as done or set a custom status
I would like to check my mail as done and would like to use a built in feature and not workaround with tags.
Maybe a system like outlook where i can set a day to remind me of this mail (or task). Maybe this done toggle could also be a status with done, doing, on hold, or maybe also some custom status.2 votes -
Resizable left pane
Can we please have a sizeable left pane in the mail web and desktop app. It's very frustrating not being able to read long folder names.
This would enhance the experience and make it a lot easier to manage emails. There is already a sizeable pane for the email message itself, so hopefully this could be incorporated quite easily.
I would greatly appreciate this.
Thank you.
