  1. Columns identifying sender and recipient

    In the folders, there needs to be some means to determine who was the sender and who was the recipient. Like separate "from" and "to" columns.

  3. Import into contact group

    It would be very helpful to be able to import contacts from a file directly into a new or existing contact group. Existing contacts (email as primary key?) would simply be added to the contact group.

  4. Dynamic swipe on mobile (mark as Read/Unread - Spam/Safe)

    In any email mobile app, i'm always looking for two things :
    - Swipe to mark as read
    - Swipe to mark as spam
    I believe that depending o the current status of the email, those swipe could be dynamic. If the message if already read, then the swip would mark it as unread. if it's in the spam folder then the allocated swipe would place it in the inbox.
    Right the mark as read is way too complicated

    Please please create the option to create a new message from a draft, thereby saving the draft as a 'template'. Please! Thank you.

  6. Give choices about word or icon buttons as well as highlighting.

    Please add the options of choosing to use word buttons instead of icon only buttons. The icon only buttons are in general harder for older users and slow us down. Also, about highlighting buttons that are most used, please make that optional too. The highlighting is jarring and distracting from the rest of the screen. Basically, if you offer these, give choices. Thanks!

  7. Option for 2FA that is not phone based

    The problem with your 2FA is that it is phone based, at least in part, as is Authy. Anybody can spoof a SIM card and go right around your 2FAs. It's why I use Yubikey.

  8. IPv6 (at least between the bridge and the PM servers)

    IPv6 adoption is growing faster than it used to and has reached 25 %. It's high time you implemented IPv6, at least between the ProtonMail Bridge + App and your servers. Providers like UPC already dumped native IPv4 and offer only Carrier grade NAT.

  9. Bookmark toolbar notification of email

    I'm running a desktop Apple with OS10.14.3. I use, almost exclusively Firefox and Brave browser apps, for which a I have ProtonMail set on my Bookmark toolbar.

    What would be helpful is to have the ProtonMail icon, on the toolbar signal when there is new incoming mail. As it stands, right now, I am able to get that notification on my iPhone (via the ProtonMail app), but I've not found a way to format the web-based browsers to make the same kind of notification...

    It would be great to copy messages grouping from web version to mobile app (Android). Without this feature it's really hard to use Protonmail on mobile.

  12. Sieve filtering "subaddress" support

    The 'subaddress' extension described in RFC 5233 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5233.html) is a nice addition in the possibilities of mail filtering.

    It would make it possible to filter mails with an specific tag (address+tag@domain.com). E.g. such a filter can be used to add a label to a mail:

    if envelope :detail "to" "tag" {
      fileinto :create "Tag";
    }

    Or even better, add a label for any tag in the receiving mail.

    if envelope :matches :detail "to" "*" {
      fileinto :create "${1}";
    }

  13. Auto Mark Spam as Read

    I don't want to see that I have x amount of spam messages. Spam still feels annoying when I can see the number of unread spam messages. Please mark them as read when they come in or remove the count next to the spam label on the left. I freakin' hate spam and I don't want to see how many spams I've received...Thanks!

  14. PGP Expiration Date

    So, the idea is that when using manual GnuPG, we can make keys expire after a certain date. So I would like to be able to set an expiration date from within Proton mail when generating keys, see the expiration date, and be able to change/extend expiration dates.

  15. Add Conversation Threads

    Conversation threading is distinct from conversation grouping, which is currently implemented. The way I understand it, conversation grouping groups messages together based on the sender and subject line. This means that emails with the same subject line that are a month apart (like bill notifications) get grouped together. This is not at all what I want.

    Conversation threading, however, threads together messages based on the "In-Reply-To" header lines so it only groups messages that belong to the same thread. In this way, bill notification messages do not get "grouped" together, because each notification email belongs to a different "thread". Message…

  16. Advanced search by selecting one or more labels and folders

    Expand search on filters

    • allow to search a label and a folder
    • allow to search a label and/or a label and/or a label
    • allow to search (a label and/or a label) and a folder

    Then I can look for different aspects of the same directory.

  17. PGP Smartcard Support

    A moderately happy plus subscriber, however i was disappointed to find i cannot use my own PGP keys that i have stored on my YubiKey. I would hope at the very least in future i will be able to use the ProtonMail Bridge and have it allow me to insert my own PGP encrypted messages with my own keys using GPG4Win without throwing me a 554 error.

    Other ideas for this area:

    • Support PGP smartcards
    • Allow plain IMAP connections to ProtonMail so that i can use my own mail client and handle my own encryption
    • Allow integration with ProtonMail and…

  19. Folders should appear in the Inbox view

    I would like to have the Inbox view show my folder at the top a la Inbox from Gmail !
    One click would unfold a folder when it tells it have new emails... or if I want it to stay unfolded.
    One Click to fold it.

    Perhaps add an option for a folder to appear at the top of the Inbox view, folded or unfolded.

  20. Support JMAP

    Supporting the JMAP protocol (https://jmap.io/) would be great. It aims at replacing IMAP and is much more efficient. FastMail is already using it.
