Send e-mails from other e-mail services via SMTP/IMAP as an alias (like in gmail)
It would be great to be able to use protonmail as the only e-mail site without requiring to visit all the other e-mail providers one might have by just adding them as POP3/IMAP aliases into protonmail.

Set Read Receipt Request per Default
Right now, I can request a read receipt for each email. But I have to tick it separatly. I want the possibility (in the settings) to add a read receipt to all my emails (regardless of the mail client used).

Allow the main menu on the LEFT side of the screen to collapse/close, thus giving more view.

Customizable outgoing encrypted e-mail
The outgoing encrypted e-mail is general and a bit messy (sorry). It would be nice to be able to customize it. I'd like to change language, as I live in Spain, and some of my elder patients do not speak english. Our company logo could be added as well as protonmail's. In my opinion, it's apperance would be more professional and clean.

Layout where multiple tags are seen at once
Currently there is no layout where all (or at least multiple) tags could be seen at once. There is always a single tag clearly displayed with others stacked behind it, which hinders visibility and thus (for me) greatly reduces productivity and organisation of my inbox.

Message Focus Behavior
When you select an email, the body of the message is displayed, When you select delete, or archive, you move to the next messages in your mailbox, however, the body of the message is not shown until you then select the message. Having to delete a message, then select the next message to view the body is not very efficient. Hope that makes sense.

Proton Kanban / trello like board for email
In order to support the productivity of solopreneurs, and digital entrepreneurs, it would be fantastic if you could develop a Kanban feature for proton email, equivalent (or better!) as Dragapp's API to Gmail. This will help keep better track of all WIPs as non-WIPs are best utilized using the labels and folder functions.

Filter out / exclude trashed emails from searches
I don't personally have a compelling reason to delete my emails permanently due to the amount of free space on my account, and due to the negatives outweighing the positives as far as I'm concerned. For example, that email I accidentally deleted a couple months ago without realizing, can now be recovered from the trash.
However, when using the search feature, all trashed emails are included in the results which can add a lot of noise. Therefore, I'd love an option to be able to exclude trashed emails from the results.

Move "unsubscribe" button away from "load" remote content button on web interface
The buttons to load remote content and unsubscribe from a mailing list are very close to each other and it is easy to mistakenly press unsubscribe when intending to load remote content. Please move them to different areas of the screen

Don't save empty email as draft
When you close email composer, without writing anything, it should not prompt a box to ask if the (empty) email should be saved as draft.

Show attachments at top of email (including in conversations)
When I want to quickly get the attachment of an email that is many pages long (e.g. due to reply list), I always have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the mail to find it. This is annoying. Why not put attachments at the top?

updating IOS app notification counter (applicationIconBadgeNumber)
The app icon on IOS has a notification counter displayed in the top right corner of the app icon. Unfortunately, this number is not being kept up-to-date. When I read an email on another device, the IOS app notification counter does not change (decrease). Gmail app can update this number in ~3 seconds after I open an email on another device.

Third party spell check support
I am dyslexic and as such have settled on using Grammarly as a way to spell-check and audit all of my outgoing messages.
Even though there is a built-in dictionary in both the web app and mobile version (supported more by the dictionary of the keyboard on the app) I find them really lacking and I find myself roundtripping between a word processor and the actual interface for every email as I'm anxious the built-in filter won't catch most mistakes.

Customizable ProtonMail Bridge IMAP & SMTP server passwords
I am using Thunderbird as email client in combination with ProntonMail Bridge. I am syncing the Thunderbird profile (which does not only contain all emails but also all settings) between different devices. ProtonMail Bridge IMAP & SMTP server passwords will be different between multiple devices as these are randomly generated. The synced Thunderbird profile therefore can only be used on one device and always needs to be adapted when switching devices.
The possibility to chose the individual passwords for the IMAP & SMTP servers would be an approach to resolve this issue. With such a feature each device can use…

Pricing model full customization
I have an enterprise, my clients request me diferents models of pricing
Client 1: I want a 1 user with 10gb email and 1 domain
Client 2: i want 2 users for me and my friend, with 2gb each and 4 domains
... With plus plan i can change all except users... with professional plan i can change all except storage and directions...
Why i can customize all parameters? combination of plus plan and professional?

Most recent emails at the top of thread, not bottom. I've already missed several because it goes to the oldest mail in the thread.

There's no setting for this. Other emails give most recent at the top.
Also, having my name on a thread when I have replied to someone is confusing. I didn't send the received message, my contact did, but I can't see who it was on threads of similar names.
I'm finding the inbox rather clunky.
I'd like to be a long term user of protonmail, but you need to improve its functionality before I'd do that.28 votes -
