Custom country per the webpage/website and app
Some websites require access from certain country to work and it is annoying to always manually switch the server country while it also changes country for other websites (which may be unwanted).
To improve this, allow VPN extension user to define per web site (and per app - for a VPN desktop: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932836-proton-vpn/suggestions/50600438-split-tunneling-select-which-app-connects-through ) rules so user can select VPN server country for any defined website/app. Maybe such config. section can be combined with existing "split tunneling" section.

Access to DirecTV streaming
While connecting to a US server, it would be a nice addition to have access to the DirecTV streaming service.
As of now, there's no way to use it for that streaming service.

Browse for additional applications in Split Tunneling on Proton VPN Linux
Much like in the Proton VPN application for Windows - where you can browse for a specific .exe - it would be great to be able to browse for additional applications in the Split Tunneling menu on Proton VPN for Linux as well, since not all installed applications - e.g. all applications without GUI - are listed and cannot at the moment be included/excluded in the list of apps for Split Tunneling.
This small change would make this feature so much more flexible!2 votes -
Maintain 'Open' or 'Moderate' NAT Type While Port Forwarding for Enhanced Multiplayer Gaming Experience"
Why does enabling port forwarding change the NAT type from "Moderate" to "Strict"? It should either be "Open" or remain "Moderate." This distinction is crucial for many online P2P multiplayer games, such as GTA Online & many more, where a "Strict" NAT type severely hampers multiplayer functionality.
I hope that in the future, Proton VPN can address this issue, allowing users to achieve an "Open" or "Moderate" NAT type while port forwarding is enabled.
I hope this concern is taken seriously. Thank you.

Suggestion: Temporary VPN Connection for Login Assistance
Dear Proton VPN Team,
I am a user from mainland China. When trying to log in to the Proton VPN desktop client, the login process often fails due to local network restrictions. This makes it difficult for users in regions with strict internet controls to access the service, even if they already have valid accounts.
I would like to suggest adding a feature that allows the client to temporarily enable a lightweight VPN connection (or use a fallback method) during the login process. This would help users bypass local blocks and successfully authenticate, after which the normal VPN connection could…

"Random" option when creating a profile
When creating or editing a Standard VPN Profile, you select the country and then are given the option of "Fastest" or a given city/server. ProtonVPN used to have the option of to select "Random" here as well, ie a random server from within a specific country, but that seems to have been removed. Please add that option back.

Proton VPN firewall, post quantistic and other improvements
- the possibility to link proton profiles to the account, so when I use the vpn on different devices I can find my own profiles
- the possibility to change the server with a dedicated button which will follow the current VPN settings (same type, protocol, country, and so on) just using a different server
- the integration (for mobile Android) of a firewall which can block internet connection for selected apps from user. This would be really really useful to block internet connection to app that doesn't need it (clock, calculator, file manager, and so on). In the market place there are…

Set a Favorite Server as Default
In the next Proton VPN update, I suggest that the user have the option to set a favorite server as default. That way, whenever someone turns on their computer or phone, they are logged in directly to it. For example, I really like the performance and speed of server 101 (Brazil). But having to select it every time is quite inconvenient.

VPN Network Automation
PIA has a feature where the iOS app, and presumably its other apps, detect whether you’re connected using a cellular network or any number of known or unknown/public WiFi networks …. And you can set the app to take specific automated actions when it detects a change in network connection:
-always maintain current VPN connection status
-always connect to VPN
-always disconnect from VPN
etc.Used in conjunction with the kill switch, you could… set your phone to disconnect from the vpn upon detecting connection through your home network but always enable the on-device vpn client when it detects you’ve…

Apple tv NetShield support
The apple TV app needs NetShield Ad-blocker support. Without this its almost useless as it is now. I really should match feature parity with the Ipad version at the minimum but NetShield would at least make it usable.

A full account can be deleted in a Proton app, dangerous idea
A full account can be deleted in a Proton app, since there is in the app "settings/account/delete account" ?
I find it very risky that this account delete option is available there. Not everyone is sufficiently technically savvy and an accident happened quickly. Especially because I personal have 10 installations of the VPN app which I would like to share with my family members. In addition, I would like to be sure that there is no unfortunate deletion. And even more when 2FA is activated, in addition to the password, the 2FA code doesn't even need to be entered for…

allow port forwarding on a router-based wireguard vpn
Please consider allowing port forwarding on a router-based wireguard vpn. I am unable to find any documentation on whether this is currently possible or not. I have an openwrt router using a wireguard vpn. I am happy with it, but it would be better if I could forward a port into my home network to allow plex access from outside the house.
Cheers!

FIDO2 Certification
Get Proton Pass (or yourself?, I'm not sure how that works) FIDO2 certified.
I've hit a rather important login where I need to either switch to Passkeys (from their own 2FA app) or use SMS (WTF 😅). Unfortunately they only accept FIDO2 certified Passkey managers, which Proton Pass apparently is not.

Toggle option to exclude Smart Routing servers in settings
For all ProtonVPN clients, there should be a toggle option in Settings that allows you to exclude Smart Routing servers from your connection. Something like:
"Exclude Smart Routing servers (use only servers physically located in your selected country)"
When you set up your Default Connection to be in your own country, you may be connected to Smart Routing servers which are physically located in another one and therefore will have worse latency.
For example:
A user in Argentina sets their Default Connection to "Argentina" for minimal latency. Without excluding Smart Routing servers, they might connect to a server physically in…

Alpine Linux Support (For edge computing and custom OS development with Alpine)
As a privacy focused OS developer, I seek amenity regardless of the networks I choose to join. However, Alpine Linux isn't a supported distribution; as such my custom privacy oriented OS (Cyperious OS, based on Alpine Linux's stable branch) would remain incomplete without a preinstalled privacy oriented VPN. As of the time of posting, Cyperious OS is in Alpha: version 1.0.0.

Physically Located VPN Server on the Philippines
Hello,
Could you please consider adding or switching to a server provider that is physically located in the Philippines?
I’ve noticed that other VPN providers like Mullvad and Windscribe use Zenlayer for their Philippine servers. Perhaps Proton could explore incorporating Zenlayer as well to enhance local connectivity and performance.
Thank you for your consideration.
