IP & Domain Filter / Denylist
I would like to have the option to block some IPs or domains like X.com to prevent me from using them.
Simple feature to NetBlock or separate.
Exactly like Denylist in NextDNS.
I can't set custom DNS when NetShield is enabled.10 votes -

Interactive World Map
A new feature that would allow people using Proton VPN on mobile devices and computers to be able to interact directly with the world map by swiping and zooming in order to select the desired location to connect to.
When zoomed out show labels on top of countries with global numbers of servers. For example : I'm zoomed out and I can see United Stated and in the center it's written 150 servers.
When zooming in and as we zoom in the numbers start to appear according to which cities they are located in. For example : I was zoomed…

Auto reconnect to the same server feature after device reboot
Actually using Proton VPN on an Android TV box where the Proton VPN features are very limited.
I usually turn off completely (not standby) my device when not using it and when I turn it back on I always find the VPN disconnected. A feature where the VPN would automatically reconnect to the last used server would be much appreciated and make the user experience smooth. Thanks in advance.

Create a Qt-based Linux app, or make the GNOME app look better on KDE
The GNOME-based app doesn't look very good on KDE Plasma. Given how popular Plasma is, it's fair to expect some integration.

Subject: False positive blocking ConvertKit
Hi Proton Team,
I’ve noticed that ConvertKit email links are being blocked by NetShield even when set to “Malware only.” Specifically, these domains fail to resolve while NetShield is active:
ck.page
convertkit-mail.com
convertkit.com
These are legitimate marketing/redirect domains used by ConvertKit, a major email service provider. With NetShield disabled, the links work fine.Could you please review and remove these domains from the blocklist so they are not blocked in Malware-only mode?

Drive, Mail, and Pass for iOS already have the ability to be locked by a PIN. Add this to the VPN app.

Update extension UI
The extension UI seems to be working with the OG UI, it would be nice to have it updated to a more recent version with new features such as split tunneling being an inclusion list rather than exclusion so I have specific websites (like social media) where I want my vpn on and others I want it off.

Block App Snooping
Implement a feature that prevents an app from accessing other apps. For example, Google and Facebook apps both keep tabs on what is going on in other apps. Duckduckgo has a VPN that disallows any app from accessing any other app, blocking thousands of attempts per hour.

Ability to set default secure core on windows
It would be great to be able to set the default connection to be random country (via secure core) or fastest country (via secure core), just like IOS when you toggle secure core on.

allow port forwarding on a router-based wireguard vpn
Please consider allowing port forwarding on a router-based wireguard vpn. I am unable to find any documentation on whether this is currently possible or not. I have an openwrt router using a wireguard vpn. I am happy with it, but it would be better if I could forward a port into my home network to allow plex access from outside the house.
Cheers!

Smart Double Kill Switch (No, this is not Secure Core)
NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH SECURE CORE
The ability to have two servers, one being the “active” one and another one being a “passive” one, like for aircraft radio, allows for quick switching if one of the servers is not avaliable and also if the connection drops on one, this could be added to Kill Switch to jump immediately onto the 2nd server without any connection interruptions. So like if a server fails you jump immediately onto a 2nd without any drop in connection. Like VPN Accelerator but one server just not sending anything through
Ideas for names: Double VPN…

Support Usage across multiple local users on Mac
Currently some Proton apps are unusable on a Mac with multiple local users. For instance if you have Mac User A and Mac User B both with Proton accounts (PA and PB)
Mac User A installs Proton VPN and Proton Drive and logs into each with PA
Mac User B uses "Switch Users" to log into their local Mac account and tries to use Proton Apps
…*Proton VPN: The app will open and Mac User B logs in with their Proton B account but the VPN will never establish a connection. It will say "connecting" but eventually time out with4 votes -
Allow Kill Switch to block Internet when VPN failed to connect on startup.
The kill switch allows you to connect to the internet if Proton VPN failed to connect (during start-up) or if you manually disconnected.
It would be more secure if it only allowed connections through a VPN.
I personally connected to multiple public hotspots without noticing that my VPN was actually off.

Upgraded VPN for Mail Plus Subscribers
I have been a Proton Mail Plus subscriber since 2021. As such I'm entitled to use the free version of Proton VPN. I just learned, however, non-mail subscribers can download and set up the same exact free VPN. To be clear, it appears they pay nothing for this. Seems unfair to paid mail subscribers. I would suggest providing an upgraded VPN with more features for Mail Plus subscribers; something short of VPN Plus. After all, there should be some benefit to being a paid mail customer versus a non-paying, non-customer. I recently cancelled my Express VPN subscription so I could…

Partner with another VPN for fully-independent exit hop.
Partner with another credible VPN to create a fully-independent exit hop. This keeps users activity private even from Proton.
Obscura VPN (https://obscura.net/#faq-technical) has already partnered with Mullvad to offer the same thing. If privacy is the goal then this is a no brainer.
