ProtonDrive: Mobile and Desktop sync apps
Hello, please create mobile and desktop sync apps for ProtonDrive.

Ability to update newer file only and automatic file sync is crucial to use the service

2 features: sync keeping files in device and server; move files to server and download on demand (an enhanced version would be keeping a preview file in the device, and when opened, download the actual file)

A sync app would be very nice indeed. One thing I like about the Dropbox app on Windows is the automatic screenshot upload feature. Proton should copy that feature too :)

I was fortunate enough to be rewarded with a nice 3Tb of storage, for being a Visionary Subscriber at the time of the recent rebranding.
That being said, let me also add: I am VERY eager to find secure, privacy-conscious storage, and Proton Drive would sound like the exact best solution possible here.
So... why am I not using it?
Literally because I can't see the point in atrocious connectivity that is required or only possible via browser, alongside failed uploads (though, to Protons credit, the upload failures have definitely improved in that they are much, MUCH less frequent now. I know the teams are working!). Just in general, my biggest complaint here is that I don't really understand, from a technical perspective, how much different or how difficult it could really be to offer a setup much akin to the Proton Mail Bridge app:Redirect all of the upload/download/link requests to localhost, essentially just a reverse proxy or perhaps more accurately, a really basic SSH tunnel can do this & would enable use of protocols like RSYNC or even BorgBackup. Those sorts of solutions seem very doable. I know the team at Proton is certainly capable too!
Here's (seriously, really, really) hoping! ... and now, I am sadly off to go purchase one of these black Friday deals from a cloud storage provider, which I will spend way too long vetting on privacy standards *sigh*
lol but really, please? <3

This so needs to happen. Web-based apps are the new trend, and Proton would be well-served to get such functionality up and running.
Personally, I don't need 'sync buttons' on my desktop, but going right to Proton Drive interface with a single click, esp. with the 'app-like' settings as with the Mail desktop shortcut the user is provided with upon configuration, would be highly desirable. -

I won't buy a subscription without desktop sync.
It was supposedly coming 2 years ago.
That's a not a good sign.

Hi, same for me, with a sync app, I could break away from providers like Google or Swisscom.
I trust more Proton teams than the other, so it would be a chance to get a sync app for Proton Cloud. Without this option, I don't really need all this space.
Thank you! -

This is a neccesity to make it a user friendly service where you can actively work with your data. It would also be nice if the Mobile app would allow you to back up photos.
