More storage options
Please offer an option to upgrade storage capacity without having to upgrade to the Visionary level. I would like more storage but I do not need additional users or addresses or domains.

I'm already running out! 500 GB is not enough & I have no need for the additional features in the family or business plans.

Reading through the comments, I'm not sure but there is a Family plan and a Visionary plan which is now available again as well. People should remember that Proton is not a price fighter nor do they want to be. Most people here comparing prices and so on, makes no sense, if it's only about the price you can find cheaper places. You pay for privacy and security, you pay for Proton to keep your data safe and to support them to develop more tools. The fact is for an average user 500GB is more than enough. I mean look at the price, for 6TB at the Visionary plan its reasonable to me as well, it's average priced, not the cheapest and not the most expensive either, but they do respect your privacy.

I think it should just be allowed to buy extra storage as you need it. Like you sell 1To for X amount of dollar and you can add as many as wished.

Yes, I agree with larger storage. I want to DeGoogle myself from Google. To do that I would need all the services in one place, not only that I need more storage.

Proton should consider enhancing its free plan to offer more competitive features compared to Google's offerings. Specifically:
Increase storage: Provide more free storage space than Google's current 15GB allocation.
Expand features: Include additional privacy-focused features not available in Google's free plan.
Maintain lower pricing: Ensure that Proton's paid plans remain more affordable than comparable Google plans.
Highlight privacy benefits: Emphasize Proton's superior privacy protections as a key differentiator.
Improve ease of use: Streamline the user interface to make it as intuitive as Google's services.By implementing these changes, Proton could potentially attract more users who are looking for a privacy-focused alternative to Google with generous free offerings and reasonable paid options.

I really need 2TB or more of storage. While I can afford it, I prefer not to use a family plan. If Proton Drive offered a pay-as-you-go option, I would be happy to use it. Why not offer additional storage, like 100GB increments for an extra $2 per month on top of the current plans?

For my usage 500GB is insufficient storage and less than rivals offering paid for synchronisation services. I'd like there to be an option to ihave 2TB of storage for Proton Drive and other linked services.
This could be achieved by offering a graduated "family" service, where say, an additional 500GB allowance is made for an incremental addition of one or more nominal family members between the current individual 500GB and the Family Plan 3TB. It would be imperative, though that individual family users do not have access to the files from another family member.

Just recently storage was increased for the free account.
Others offer:
Dropdbox: 2TB for €9.99
Microsoft 365 Personal: 1TB for ~€5.5
Sync.com: 2TB for €8
ICloud: 2TB for €11.20Please increase storage as a baseline from 500GB to 1TB per User. most people won't use it anyways and for those who do, it has an big impact. + It looks better on paper. 500GB sounds for most people to low and not future proof, even though they don't require that amount.

For the Unlimited Privat Bundle, there should be an option for 1TB. 500GB is not enough anymore and the 3TB is to expensive.

I am a full-time video editor that has just started using Proton's Suite as of about 2 weeks ago.
The fact I only get 500GB of Storage unless I upgrade to a Family Plan makes using Proton Drive to backup archives of projects IMPOSSIBLE and unreasonable. I already have about 1TB of Data I need to backup to both the cloud and locally, I don't feel comfortable using Google Drive. So where does this leave me? Wishing I had this feature, that's where.

It seems very weird that this isn't a feature out of the gate. You can add users to increase storage on a business plan, but is a bloated and expensive way to add storage. About 5x the cost of competing services.

Possible naming scheme for the plans at different storage tiers:
Unlimited 500GB/1000GB/3TB/6TB
Family 3TB/6TB/12TB
Visionary 6TB/12TB/18TB -

Unlimited user here.
500GB is tight for me. Most other providers offer 1TB/2TB options.
As others have mentioned, I'd be happy to pay a bit extra for more storage. -

This is a much needed feature. Proton Unlimited's 500GB are not enough. Same goes for Proton Mail Plus's 15GB. The prices are very expensive compared to other providers like Apple, Google, Microsoft and the storage offered is too little. Okay Proton provides privacy and a bunch for mail features but still, the storage offered at these prices is too little for 2024.

Here is my case, I have planned to join Proton last year. Specially when I saw a video on X about Proton Pages. At that moment, I knew my time with Google is almost over. Yet, I have hesitated when I saw the plans and my only option was a family plan because of the drive's size. As mentioned by others, it's more than my needs. I would prefer to get an individual plan with at least 2 TB. I have made a document for my future plan which includes an upgrade to a 6 TB of drive in the coming years. I have took 3 of my votes for this suggestion and I would appreciate if Proton Implement it. I have no problem paying 10 times the price of Google to have a secure-private services. Thx for the hard work Proton.

Agreed with the majority of posters here, that Drive would benefit from having options to just buy more storage as opposed to upgrading Proton accounts and just having a new fixed storage amount. This is currently the only thing keeping me using OneDrive--and I really want off of OneDrive.
