Linux Proton Drive client is a must for me.

More than happy to consolidate from 4 different services to all Proton services, but the fact that a Linux client isn't even planned is a bit frustrating. Pretty much every other cloud file service sucks, but having to run a Windows VM on my laptop to sync my files is some hoop jumping I shouldn't have to do to use a service from a company that is built on the back of privacy. This has consistently been a top requested feature since Drive was announced, can we get some communication about this?

I'm willing to migrate to Proton Drive but I need a Ubuntu sync client since it's the OS I use

I think it's only fair to provide a Linux client -- we pay the same amount for an account as OSX and Windows users, but get less?

I use Proton on a MacBook and on a Linux Desktop. To keep my files in sync, it is crucial to have a possibility to share folders. Also, the versioning of files would be a great feature for such a client.

The browser interface only does not suit my needs for this at all. I can use the drive only as an archive for historical data or to share a specific file with someone. As a backup/sync solution, it is useless without a client.

Please create a Linux client for Drive.

Also, please publish your API documentation to allow tools like Rclone to work better on Linux.

Guys I'm crying.
I need to sync my data between working computer and private computer, different folders.
Currently on my private computer I have to always drop entire folder with my files to proton drive in browser in order to sync all the diffs..
Agree, it takes too much resources on your API side when I'm doing this.

Finally went ahead and signed up for the free account for now. A Linux client that allows me to move files back and forth from Proton Drive via a bash shell is a requirement for me to migrate from Dropbox. Given the demand, I was hopeful that we'd at least have a beta by now. I guess I'll re-up with Dropbox for one more year for storage :-(

This is the single feature keeping me from upgrading to the Business plan. I'm upgrading my plan the minute a desktop drive client is available.

a linux sync client is almost indispensable, many people dont use and pay for proton but do it with e.g. pcloud because pcloud have much better sync options. Most of these people would rather like to use proton but this missing feature stops adoption of proton. REMEMBER: Unlike in other contexts Linux users of Proton are PAYING CUSTOMERS

I do really love most if not all the features as a Proton+ user. But syncing files manually in Proton Drive is painfully “old school”

This is likely a critical missing piece for a lot of people that would help them move their daily computer OS to Linux. As someone making the switch to a more privacy focused ecosystem, this feature is a must for me.
