Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

This is what I need to be able to ditch Dropbox. It's absurd that it hasn't been implemented yet.

I would like to switch over from Google Drive to Proton Drive but without a Drive Client for Linux this doesn't work for me.

Any update on this? It's the #2 most requested feature on Drive and it's not even being worked. At least provide a REST API in the meantime. I'm paying for a Visionary account and the only thing it gets me over the Family plan now is the extra 3 TB that I can't even use because you've make Drive so difficult to use.

I just wanted to add my vote for this severely lacking feature. I have switched my primary computer to Linux and its shocking that a company focused on privacy wouldn't make this a priority for an OS that attracts people interested in privacy.
If its going to take time to develop, why not at least allow for easier workarounds using rclone and the Celeste GUI? My account refuses to work with those options. It should be simple enough to allow that as a stop gap measure while you finish development.

Sure, I can use the web app, but I miss having drive built into the filesystem, this would make my life so much easier

Until there is a Linux Client for Proton Drive I have to use another service like tresorit - I'd be happy to upgrade to the next Proton tier IF I could use that Drive space, right now it's of no use to me.

Thank you Proton for your great work so far! I am a visionary Proton user with all six members of my family and we have been Linux desktop users for over 15 years. We believe the otherwise excellent Proton ecosystem is complete only with Proton Drive linux client with the automatic sync option. It is the only important piece still missing from the otherwise superb package.
Me and my family is not going to leave Proton, we are still waiting and supporting you, not giving up! :)

Would really love to make use of my proton drive storage, but as a Linux user I'm still unable to, except through the web browser. Which isn't really a solution except for trivial uploads. Being able to do rsync backups or mount the filesystem or similar would be fantastic.

The first step would be making a linux-compatible client (see https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932839-proton-drive/suggestions/45271456-linux-client).
After that, making it into a nix package would be trivial.

The Linux VPN client was a great step. Hopefully we get some news about this soon. Obviously the most dedicated privacy advocates are on Linux!

This is my mission-critical backup method, and it is preventing me from ditching Windows. I have a family plan, so this is affecting multiple computers on my account.

I stepped over to Linux.
There is a web based mail client but I don't like that one very much.
There is no Sync Drive for Linux. I cannot step over to Proton Drive.
