Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

The cli for Linux would be really, really very useful.

I would especially love to see E2EE git integration with Proton Drive, similar or identical to KeyBase. KeyBase seems to be dying since Zoom took over; a good alternative is necessary.

This is the only thing keeping me from switching everything to Pronton. And sadly, i noticed that the reference to Linux on the Proton Drive Roadmap was removed.

I am already a customer for Calendar and Mail on the Plus plan. I would like to use drive but my main limitation is the impossibility to use it in my Linux system.
This is a critical feature for me and I would go to Proton Unlimited if this feature gets on the Proton suite. This along side some automatic synchronization feature would be great to allow automatic backups.

Crucial; I will not use Proton Drive otherwise, also not on non-linux machines.

rclone has recently added support for Proton Drive, but it is still a work in progress

I'd love to switch over to ProtonDrive.
However, not having a client for my desktop/laptop is preventing it. -

Without sending data from a Linux machine the proton drive is useless for me.

This is a killer feature for I would pay!
I'm using private Nextcloud for syncing but Proton would work as more secure and safe place for my most important files.
Also a long time paid user.

I use MEGA for syncing to an encrypted drive. I am a paid Proton user from way back. Check to see if I can sync... nope, Microgarbage only. As someone else commented... where is the parity? I would switch everything over, if only I could. I am spending all of my votes on this issue. Linux syncing, puh-lease.

Please please please, a syncing client packaged as a .deb

Hello, I greatly understand the Proton Team is very busy (As I am a Developer as well). However There are many of us in the Linux Community that would greatly benefit from your Drive services being somehow accessible via linux. The community is simply just asking for the team to take this into serious consideration. A lot of us would be relieved to see a statement saying it is planned *Not asking for a date, just planned).

I understand that a client for Linux is not the top priority. But no Linux client is not understandable for probably the most security-conscious community that has deliberately turned away from big tech.

Honestly the best reason to do this is because proton would then become the preferred client for basically all linux users. It makes good business sense for Proton to create a linux client. Most of us ended up with proton because we were sick of microsoft and google...and to some degree apple invading privacy.

This needs to be in place, i use proton for almost everything now, but i can't pay monthly until i can save my work files on my main Linux pc.

I guess we need to wait for the linux vpn app gets done so that linux os team goes to work on the linux drive app I hope. So maybe for 2048? or 2768? who knows
We request Features Parity!!!!!!!!! -

Must be able to sync to my Linux machines. No use to sign up before this is in place.

The possibility to use gnome accounts and have acces to proton drive and calendar (like for a google account) would be perfect.
Or a linux desktop app for proton drive using flatpak or appimage.
I tryed to install the windows app with bottle and it failed. -
