Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

This, along with supporting Proton calendar through Proton bridge is one of the two things that are preventing me from migrating fully to Proton. I use Linux because I prefer it over other options, but, recently, due to requirements of my workflow, I now need to use a Linux environment all the time, and the lack of a ProtonDrive client is making this increasingly difficult, and has me on the search for alternatives to ProtonDrive.

This would be the ultimate feature that would get me using Proton Drive more consistently. It's a bit of a barrier for me to download the file, manage it, then re-upload. If I could open/sync across all of my devices from a mountable remote drive, that would be perfect

Needless to say, this is critical for me as a Proton user who primarily uses Linux. The total silence on this fundamental feature really makes one feel like a second-class customer.
It is worth noting the rclone functionality for Proton Drive, if only for the sake of dispelling it as a reason to de-prioritise a proper Linux client. I have tried this option myself, and it is agonizingly slow, to the point of being unusable for daily use. I am talking about hours of waiting to process a few megabytes of data. It is far from being an alternative right now. An official client is needed. If this isn't in the cards, at least give the open source community whatever they need to develop a usable alternative.

I'm finally settling into the Linux world (being a fed up Windows user). After every distro change I've made over the last few months (it appears to be a required activity for new Linux users), I check to see if a Proton Drive client is available for Linux. Looking at the recent comments here, I conclude that I may have to resign from the optimist's club. What gives?
To echo what others have said, skip the AI and bitcoin and low up-voted feature requests. If people (including me) are lining up, waiting to pay for the full suite of Proton Products; but not implementing this feature is stopping people from handing over their hard earned cash, then can someone please get a copy of these comments over to accounting, or directly to the CFO of Proton? If that doesn't do it, I'll be happy to put together a quick PowerPoint -- errr, OnlyOffice presentation -- outlining the many financial benefits of selling cars and SUV's with four wheels instead of three. -

I currently have a self-hosted Nextcloud for the whole family and ProtonMail Plus.
As soon as we get a Linux Client, I can drop Nextcloud, and move to ProtonFamily, so I can re-invest the hosting price in Proton, and have one fewer thing to worry about -

I feel like this should be priority 1.

Visionary user. Proton drive is useless to me without a linux client with some basic unattended sync capabilities.
Can someone @ proton please provide some official response to this longlasting thread please. -

The lack of a Proton Drive Linux client is blocking my complete migration to the Proton ecosystem (as I'm a Linux user). The Linux client for Proton Drive is the last brick missing from your excellent edifice.

Bump.
Yeah, add my name to the growing list of Linux users who would love to see this.

Absolutely astounding that there has been radio silence on this since Drive launched. If Proton didn't have any Linux desktop apps, I'd completely understand (although, I wouldn't agree!). But they have Linux desktop apps for Mail, Calendar, Pass, VPN, Bridge... so this is not uncharted territory.
This thread has been running for nearly four years now. It'd not good enough that they haven't either refused to build it or announced pending support for it.

I'd happily pay for Linux file integration.

It needs a Linux Client to be useful for me. The way it is I just can't see enough reason to upgrade my plan from Mail to Unlimited.

Not much more to say in this thread. A Linux client is an absolute must. As a paying customer, I would also agree to pay a bit more, if that would advance the topic. Unlimited + Linux option? Ok!

Pretty sure the webapp simply does not work for Linux users that want filesystem integration... that is the main purpose of a Linux client. The fact that they don't have this for Linux is definitely keeping the value of a Proton subscription lower for many people, so of course they're not going to get a subscription when it doesn't have what they need. I personally have the Unlimited plan, but I completely understand this being a dealbreaker for a lot of people. I do agree that Proton needs more resources before we can expect them to add this, but... I think they could at least give us a realistic timeline for this instead of radio silence or promises of "down the line" or "in the future" etc.

They just came out with a ******* bitcoin wallet and have still not made their drive functional for the people who are privacy focused enough to refuse to use windows. (apple's not a lot better)
No one was asking for their Google services replacement to make a bitcoin wallet. One of the most voted for features is the simple ability to sync with one of the most privacy focused operating systems (depending on how it's configured).
