it's very important for me to mount my proton drive on my local Linux systems and let's my apps use it, web browser is not a solution for me.
Like the VPN app is not really usable, and no calendar app.
I think Linux users must have the same apps like the others OS.
I'm searching now an alternative who support natively Linux systems for mail/vpn/calendar/drive naturally with strong encryption and privacy.

I'd love to be able to mount my Proton Drive in my Ubuntu system and have my applications be able to access these files.

I've started to migrate services towards proton, amongst other things, because they're Linux friendly. A working VPN client, both cli an gui, working mail migration tools all simply awesome.
As a company whose roots are in (computer) science, it shouldn't even be a question whether or not to provide a linux client c.q. a means to hook linux systems up to protondrive seamlessly.

Linux / Fuse / mount support is critical. Drive is fairly useless without it, I am currently wasting money on separate S3 storage. Am now looking to switch to other secure mail/vpn providers that provide mount / API access for their drives.

Verges on a deal breaker for our company, which primarily uses Linux.

One possible first step should be to develop an API so people can work on FUSE driver. This should be easier than a full featured client but would be sufficient to start using Drive on multiple systems.

I'm currently evaluating proton for my company which is only using linux since we are very privacy focused. The lack of linux support hinders me for now to commit to proton.

I have been a Proton member for many years. Linux' support for privacy dramatically exceeds M$. A Linux client is an absolute necessity in my mind.

A Linux Drive client is critical for me to switch to Proton. I don't use either Mac or MS.

As a pro open-source company, providing Linux support seems like it should be a priority for Proton. At least on the road map, please.

How is this not already a thing? I'll write the driver myself if you pay me. FUSE would be great.

In the mean time it looks like filen.io is a reasonable alternative to Proton Drive.

As a privacy aware user I don't use Microsoft products. So it would be critical for me to have a safe drive permanently in sync with my local files.

As a total linux user, I have no need for Windows. Your proton bridge has been excellent to me, and I use it for four accounts. Dropbox too is invaluable for my business, as I can work on appraisals in the main directory and automatically upload them to it. I'd like to have a backup cloud backup using P-drive using the same capabilities; automatic uploads.

One thing I'd like to see over Dropbox's upload. The ability to use syslinks. For example, have a main folder for working, and the /syslink/ is linked to the p-drive upload directory so it uploads the files like Dropbox. Dropbox is the other way around. I have to have a syslink to my main drive but the true files are in the dropbox directory.

Either this and/or support for webdav.

My primary computer is Linux Ubuntu, so it has to work with that. I would pay money for it today if it worked with Ubuntu!
I use Windows on other computers, so it needs to be cross-platform.
