Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

Absolutely essential. Essentially unusable without automatic syncing via a desktop client.

My operating system is Linux, this application is a vital tool for me, managing all my files from the browser takes time; I have to download and re-upload

I am hesitating to subscribe to the paid version because this feature is missing -

As an avid user of open source software, it feels strange to me that Proton Mail doesn't have a client integrated into Linux.
It feels almost like a perfect place would be in Ubuntu's "Online Accounts" plugin, which already allows configuration of Google, Microsoft, Flickr, etc.
Failing that, some kind of service that can run in the background, and allow selection of which folders to sync to the local hard drive, and where - kinda like how Google Drive Sync used to work on Windows.
I mean, the integration with Proton Drive that automatically happens on some Android file explorers (com.android.documentsui) is really neat, and slick and convenient... and there really does need to be an open source option to do this on laptop/desktop environment.

Without a Linux client this service is essentially useless to me. I signed up for a paid account with extra storage assuming that an open-source friendly company would have at least a basic Linux client available...total waste of money. Will not be renewing if a client is not available at renewal time.

Same here, please release a client or API or integrate webdav or anything so that these 3TB are usable for anything

If there is any possibility to backup my appr. 100GB Linux OS (right now Ubuntu) to ProtonDrive, I will start paying for a Proton Unlimited account

I'd like to be able to mount my proton drive on my linux box. Google has that for windoze users, but not linux. I'd love to have it here.

The missing Linux client is the reason why I don't have a Proton subscription.

The integrated backup tool in Ubuntu is currently deja dup, which by default uses duplicity. Step one would be a Proton Drive API (and ideally Python library) that open source developers could integrate with, then it could be added to duplicity and deja dup.

At least provide public API for this and community will do the rest.

A proper linux client would be a game changer. Now I have to use Mega for that.
I would love to use proton instead
